Thanks for the update. The purpose of the filter, is to keep the clot from breaking loose, travelling to the heart, and getting wedged in the heart or the blood vessel leading to the lungs, and then choking off the blood flow. So, the filter will keep the clot out of harm's way if it breaks loose. Obviously, the surgeon feels that the filter is the best move to keep the heart and lungs safe. And feels she is able to withstand the surgery. Sounds like good news amidst the bad news.

First of all, thank you Team for your prayers, your precious comments, and your support. You will never know how much they have meant to me. Each time I read one of your posts, it encourages me so much. Now to the update.
Laura's surgery was canceled due to deep vein thrombosis, a blood clot in her leg. Literally, she was on her way into the OR when her vitals went crazy. The doctor is going to insert an Inferior Vena Cava filter tonight and will do the surgery either tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm not sure I understand this added risk, but that's what they have chosen to do. I'm not a medical person, but this seems too invasive. But I'll continue praying for her miracle.
With all that said, I'm again asking for your continued prayers! I will post updates when the surgery is done or if anything else comes up.
Thank you so much!! .
