Even though ten is my favorite (not because he's the best looking....I'm NOT one of THOSE Whovians), my favorite episode is "Vincent and the Doctor". I'm a big fan of Tony Curran (it all started with the League of Extraordinary Gentleman...he was Skinner, the invisible man) and to see him and Amy in their gingery glory was awesome. It was so touching and there were just too many feels for one episode, with a bit of quirky humor thrown in of course!

I really like Silence of the Library too!

Also The Lodger! Very funny bits, and scariness too!

Silence in the library will always be my top favorite because it was the first episode I stumbled across. Blink would be next because the story is really good. It's pretty funny that it's one of my favorites since the doctor is hardly in it.

I've been re-watching from the beginning and I'm getting so much more out of them than the first go around. Tenth is hilarious, and Donna! I'm just at the end of their time though and started watching Torchwood for a bit before I get back to Doctor Who.

Well it looks like I'm not going to have time to re-watch the entire New Who before I go to the Doctor Who Experience. I've watched up to mid-season 3, now I'll just watch a few from each season. I only have time to watch 1 or 2 per day, and even that's hard to squeeze in. I guess there's about 90 episodes of New Who....?

Last night I watched Fear Her. It was a great episode even though it's sad that Rose will soon be gone. I haven't watched the early seasons in a few years so I forget enough of the details that I'm hanging on to every minute!

I really like Pandorica Opens. It's one my boys and I re-watch often. I love the ep. w/ 9 where they introduce Captain Jack too. And the ep w/ 10 where the lady is copying him... LOVE. GAW.

They are all great, it's impossible to chose one.

My personal favorite is Turn Left, though a lot of people have a dislike of pre-doctor Donna, which I don't get, but whatever. After that I think Human Nature/Family of Blood.

There's so many to choose from! How can I simply pick a favorite? Well I don't remember many of the names.... Blink was good, of course I'm terrified of stone angels now. The episode when Donna comes back is funny. I love the Ponds so I pretty much love any episode with them. And I bawled at the end of Angels Take Manhattan. Those are the only ones I can think of right now. I'm sure I'll come back later and remember some.

Oh, I love Blink! I was watching Doctor Who one night on DVDs and I was getting really tired (after watching like 4 episodes) and then - Blink! In a moment I was sitting on my bed, not blinking, honestly! emoticon

And I really loved The End Of Time, last Tennants episode. I decided to stay away from all spoilers (which was terribly hard) and it was totally worth it. emoticon But then, I'm just terrible Doctor Who fan, I loved most of the episodes... emoticon

Blink --- because it's brilliant...and one of the first episodes I saw, and it got me hooked.

Vincent and the Doctor --- Bill Nighy's speech about van Gogh made me cry! Plus I feel that's when the show changed, the quality of the actual film making (not the scripts or actors who were always perfect) but the cinematography of the show improved.

My favorite episode has to be Series 4 Episode 1, Partners in Crime where Donna Noble is once again reunited with Ten. I think that their chemistry is amazing and when they are together, it is hilarious. I really love Donna, she is one of my favorite companions. And I was really upset about how her time with the Doctor ended.

I love Blink, naturally, and Midnight was chilling! Most episodes by Moffat rank highest for me. His dialogue is just so snappy!

-JT

When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart. ~Diane Ackerman

Oh dear, I'd have to say it's a tie for my all time favorites: Blink and Midnight. I've always harbored a distrust/fear of angel statuary--just creepy, perhaps because they're always in cemeteries. This episode didn't make it any easier to be around them. And Midnight terrified me because it epitomized the fallibility of human nature and how easily people let fear rule their decisions--and the refusal to listen to the voice of reason (can't remember the character's name but she was the professor's assistant). Plus, the delivery of those speedy lines between Skye and The Doctor were outstanding! Oh, nice cameo with the actor who plays Merlin (well, not sure if this episode was filmed before or after he became Merlin).

Other faves: The Girl in the Fireplace, Tooth and Claw, Voyage of the Damned, Partners in Crime (Catherine Tate is a comedic genius--love it when they're talking through the glass to each other!), The Lodger (yep, a Matt Smith episode...maybe because the annoying Miss Pond wasn't in it much).

Who-Rah!! emoticon

To be fair, I've only made it through the first two seasons as of this moment, but The Girl in the Fireplace is definitely my favourite episode. Which is a bit strange, considering the fact that Eccleston is my favourite Doctor.

Favorites - The whole run at the end of Season 3 with the Master. He's been my favorite villain so far. Blink is fantastic but also completely terrifying to me, I have nightmares about stone angels now. The one with 10 and Rose when they go to the hospital in New New York, and Cassandra takes over Rose and The Doctor's bodies. (Ooh, it's like living in a bouncy castle!). I don't think there are any episodes I didn't love, so picking favorites is hard. But those are the first ones that came to mind, that I know I can watch over and over again.

I hope it is understood that there are spoilers here...but if not, I am giving descriptions rather than titles, so beware.

So favorites...I really liked the one with the little Adipose creatures. Dear lord, that made me laugh so hard. I loved the "Are you my mummy?" kids and the one with the giant library. The one with the Satan like figure was really interesting as well.

The ones I canNOT watch without crying (so I don't want them) are the ones with Tennant stuck in that cage looking like Dobby from Harry Potter or when he turns into Matt Smith. But my all time most hated episode...is The Last of the Time Lords. For the reason linked below...

My favorite episode ever, ever ever ever, ever, is Midnight. It was so intellectually challenging that I had to watch it about 3 times before I finally understood what was going on. I love the darkness of it, the complexity. I love the vulnerability the Doctor showed, how it was a normal person who end up saving the day. I loved the mystery of it, how all the questions weren't answered. And I love how scary it was. To this day when my bird speaks at the same time I speak, it scares me.

My favorite episodes in other seasons... My favorite first season episode is Boom Town. It was so light-hearted and yet so serious, and I loved Blon. My favorite epidoe of the second season, which I generally didn't like, was School Reunion. Sarah Jane! My third season favorite was my first ever canon episode of Doctor Who, Human Nature/Family of Blood. I mean.. Marfa. Just Marfa. My favorite of the 2009 specials was the End of Time, if my profile pic doesn't give it away. Fifth Season, I loved the Pandorica Opens/Big Bang. To explain why would risk massive spoilers, but it was heartwarming, intellectually challenging, and had fezzes.

As far as old Doctors go, my favorite classic episode is The Web Planet. I loved the Menopterans. I'm also fond of The Ark in Space, mostly because of Sarah Jane. I imagine when I do my fourth Doctor run through she's going to sweep my list of favorites.

I have to say Human Nature/Family of Blood are my favorites. It absolutely breaks my heart to see how desperately he wants to be human. And, of course, the scene near the end when he realizes the impact of what he has done.

But following closely are Blink and The Girl in the Fireplace and any of the season finales (except season 5). I think someone else mentioned that it would be easier to list the episodes I don't like. I'd like to second that.

I loved "The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances", "The Girl in the Fireplace", and "Blink". Oddly enough, all of them were written by Steven Moffat.

Okay, in chronological order, 'Fathers Day','The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances', 'The Parting of the Ways', 'The Girl in the Fireplace', 'The Shakespeare Code','Blink', 'The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords', 'Midnight' (Love/Hate relationship with that one, very scary, in it's claustrophic reality), 'The Stolen Earth/Journey's End' (Loved bringing the 3 shows together and seeing everyone in the Tardis!!!), 'The End of Time' (Beautifully acted by Bernard Cribbins and David Tennant, brings a tear to the eye thinking about it!), 'The Eleventh Hour' (Well done Matt), 'Amy's Choice', 'Vincent and the Doctor', 'The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang'. So only a couple lol!

There are some episodes that have scenes that I can watch over and over again (like the funny bits in Eleventh Hour that they cut out on re-airing on BBC America...but I digress). As for entire episodes...

Oh, this is such a tough one! I'm only a few episodes into Series 3, so I don't have much to go on yet. (I've heard a lot about "Blink" and can't wait to see it.) But so far, "Father's Day" is probably my favorite because I love angst and father-daughter stories. Though I could name at least ten other episodes that I love to watch over and over again, too.

So far, and now that I am about halfway through the 4th season, my favorites are:

Blink
The Doctor's Daughter
The Girl in the Fireplace

In that order. We'll see what the rest of the season 4 episodes have to offer, and soon season 5 (woot!).

To date I think Midnight is my new series favorite. David and the actress who played Sky did a tremendous job.

But its a hard call, because I loved Empty Child and the Doctor Dances soooo much.

Sorry, as I write this, I can't pick. emoticon

"Smith and Jones" cracks me up just because of the 'barefoot on the moon' antics.

But acting and storytelling wise, "Human Nature" was that series shining moment.

My absolute favorite Doctor Who is Blink. But I also love the episodes that have Doctor who and Donna Noble in it, even to the end. emoticon

My favorite line from those two. I need a shock. With Donna Noble, that's not hard!

"Midnight" because it scared the crap out of me.
"New Earth" because it was hilariously funny watching the actors play each other's characters and I about peed my pants.
"The Girl in the Fireplace" because it epitomized Who for me. It was a whirl wind of traveling through time, friendship through time, love and loss. And there was a cool horse!

The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, Blink, and the Library episodes (my favorite companion is DEFINITELY Donna Noble!). It's so great that the creator of these episodes, Stephen Moffat, is the new producer.

It's hard to decide between "Rose" and "Empty Child/The Doctor Dances". I was so happy to see the Doctor start up again and I love new starts - so Rose was great! But Empty Child/The Doctor Dances was just magic - especially with Captain Jack added.

My favorite episode out of all of seasons so far is definately "Blink." It is truly CREEPY. I made the mistake of watching for the first time alone, at night, with the lights out....BAD IDEA. It's also a great stand-alone episode to show to newcomers to the Who universe.

This is hard. It is a toss up between: Doomsday, Utopia, Turn Left, and Parting of the Ways.

Do I have to make a choice??? I think it would be easier to do the episodes I hate.

Fave episode...tough one. I love them all, really. I'm a Doctor/Rose shipper so I really love anything second season. But I also love third season. Shoot, LOL. Ok so let's leave it with a toss up between Turn Left, 42, The Stolen Earth aaaaaaand...I guess Parting of the Ways. :)

I'm with IrishGypsy88. "Blink" and "The Girl in the Fireplace" are the first two that come to mind for me as well.

I love "Blink" because those are my favorite type of stories. The ones that really emphasize the complexity of traveling in time. I loved the complexity of the story and the scene when the girl sees the Doctor on the street at the end and he hasn't met her yet was just priceless.

Though several others have said it, I have to add that the duo of "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" are my favorites of the new DW. My son runs around the house saying that creepy "are you my mummy?" line, he enjoys how much it freaks me out! I also liked "Father's Day" (wasn't that what it's called?), where Rose goes back to the day her father is killed- the end destroys me every time.

For "Doctor Lite" episodes, "Blink" stands head and shoulders above the rest. Loved it! As for the rest, I would have to say "The Girl in the Fireplace." Just loved it. And watching David and Sophia fall in love for real was just priceless.

So many of the episodes were good, it's difficult to decide (plus there are so many of them that it's difficult to remember them all!) The only one I didn't like much was the one with the guy who was obsessed with ELO and was part of that club where members were getting eaten by the leader. Oh, and the Xmas episode with Catherine Tate because her character was annoying.

I'm with everyone on "Blink" and "Empty Child", but I don't remember "The Doctor Dances". I also like the Xmas episode with Kylie Minogue, and so far my FAVORITE episode was "Unquiet Dead".

ok, here's my faves by season:

S1 -- The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. It's a good story, andhas Captain Jack. 'Nuff said.

S2 -- School Reunion. I like it for a lot of reasons....there's the rivalry between Rose and Sarah Jane which was hilarious, the Doctor's reunion with Sarah Jane was cool because Sarah Jane was always my favorite companion, and of course there was K-9. I love K-9 and it was great to see him again, saving the day.

S3 -- Blink. Just brilliant, that episode. This one was a tough call, tho, because I also like Human Nature/The Family of Blood, and the final two episodes with the Master...

ok ok ok...since I'm at the time watching season 3 on dvd I will definetly throw out there that Blink is by far my favorite. It's the first one I saw and I have become obsessed with the show since. My boyfriend had been watching it since the first season. I didn't give it a second thought. I was home alone one day and the show was on. I thought I would give it a try. I can't get enough of the show. It's weird because I have never really been a big fan of science fiction.

I see lots of "Blink" and I have to agree. I *still* have trouble falling asleep when I even think about this episode before bed! I also really liked The Girl in the Fireplace. Besides the awesome costumes, something about running the ship of human parts and using a fireplace to jump through time/space that really appealed to me.

Okay, BLINK!!!

I know I was warned to watch it before my 5-year-old son, but we didn't. He was a little frightened and snuggled up to his dad, but honestly, the whole stinkin' family is addicted to this episode!!! My daughter and I each put "the timey-wimey detector" quote on our facebook pages, and my son watched the DVR'd copy of this episode OVER AND OVER!!

He is 5!! and he quotes the "Don't blink. Don't even blink." speech and he always wants to watch "the angels Doctor Who."

If that wasn't geeky enough, my daughter, 18, quoted it all week at school (she never watched the Doctor until this season) until her homecoming date asked her what it was all about. Now the plan is that before homecoming, they're all coming here, watching "Blink" and having pizza! A lot cheaper than a restaurant, but a little on the geeky side, don't you think????

Oooh... tough question! So many of them were so good! I think I probably love the Doctor Who movie the best, because I love Eight. But I don't know if he counts as nuWho, since it was before the ten year break. So, let's stick to the television show.

By season, then, to make it easier for me. I would have to say that the best episode of the first nuWho would be the same as just about everyone else. "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances". Because Captain Jack is love, and everyone lives. Watching Nine bounce around like a hyper-active puppy was just the greatest. The next best episode would be "Dalek". I love the terrified look on the Doctor's face when he first sees that machine in the basement. So lovely!

Second season is a little bit harder. All of the episodes were good, but none of them were really great. The end of "New Earth" is hilarious ('Ooh, I'm beating out a Samba!') but I think "Tooth & Claw" would be the best all around episode.

Hands down the best episode of season 3 is "The Sound of Drums", followed closely by "Last of the Time Lords". I adore Harold Saxon, really I do. "Your Master stands on high, playing track 3". I think "Blink" is a really good episode if you want to introduce someone to the nuDoctor. It was the first episode my roommate saw, and it inspired her to watch the entire thing from the beginning. If you live in a city with a lot of statuary, though, it's definately an eye-opener.

My top episodes would have to be The Doctor Dances and The Impossible Planet - both of those were extremely well written and acted.

Then I saw Family of Blood last night. Wow - that was one heck of an episode and I think it may have surpassed at least Impossible Planet for me. I won't say anything else because it hasn't aired here in the US yet.

I do have a favourite episode in a way. But it's a very moving one that left me in tears. Perhaps best not to mention at this point, 'cos I don't know how far ahead you are in USA with the episodes. It goes back a bit, u may have watched it.

I'm not all the way through with S2 yet, so I'll reserve judgement, but I second you with S1. "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" all the way. There's really not anything I didn't love about those... as close to flawless as it gets in terms of TV: creepy, touching, fun, oddly romantic... just lovely.

Nancy,
I see in your picture that you have a fairly young son. If he watches Doctor Who with you, you may want to watch Blink without him first. My niece had nightmares for a week after she saw it.
I'm thinking it will be the episode that is on in three weeks.

Still watching Season 3. In fact we've got last night's epi on DVR right now waiting for us. So far, I liked (and I don't know the episodes' names) the one with Shakespeare and the witches. I really was intrigued by the idea that Shakespeare wrote "magical words" being a writer myself! Also the Harry Potter references were fabulous. Loved when the Doctor said, "Wait until you read Number Seven. I cried." We're not through Deathly Hallows yet, so I just liked that comment (I guess the book hadn't come out when that epi was filmed so it's even cooler.)

Don't pay anybody in advance. And don't ride in anything with a Capissen 38 engine, they fall right out of the sky.

Since Beth asked who everyones' favorite Doctor is, I'll take the next logical step and ask:

What is your favorite episode?

-----Season 1 spoiler below-----
Is there anyone who hasn't yet seen Season 1?

My favorite for Season 1 is the combo of "The Empty Child" & "The Doctor Dances". The writing is very tight and the episode maintains a creepy/spooky feeling throughout. The early scenes between Rose and Jack are fantastic. The acting is first-rate and "Just this once - everybody lives!"
I was tempted to pick "Boom Town". I like the fact that it deals with consequences. In all the old episodes of Doctor Who, he took off after the action. Here's an episode that asks what if everything wasn't ok when he left? What if he missed something?

Season 2 is tough for me. While I thought most of the episodes were ok, none really hit me. If I had to pick, I would go for "Tooth and Claw" just because it was fun to watch Rose trying over and over to get Queen Victoria to say, "We are not amused."

Season 3 - No doubt, hands-down, "Blink". I don't think this episode has aired in the US yet, so I won't put any spoilers. This is my absolute favorite of the 3 seasons of the New Who. Watch this episode as soon as it comes on! All I'll tell you is, "Don't Blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't Blink. Good Luck."

There are my choices - Let's hear from you.
