Yeah-I remember someone mentioning a great night splint they purchased at CVS. I found out my insurance will cover 100% of the cost of a night splint, so when I go for my 2nd opinion Dr. visit on MOnday, I hope I can pick one up there for free.
I'm so glad it's working so great for you RIGHT AWAY! Like you, mornings are still painful, but I can't believe how great I feel throughout the day. We need to get the word out!!!
These things are a wonderful! My running is already much improved. It's hard enough to exercise as it is, but you have to be super dedicated to do it when you are in pain. The only pain I'm having now is when I wake up in the morning. I ordered the night splint along with the heel seats, but it's on back order. I think I'll have 24 hour pain relief when I get that.
Soapfan, that's awesome! I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner-been busy at my new job. I'm so glad you got to run completely pain free-aren't they amazing? I just posted this on our pain coping thread:
"On a GOOD note, my heel that pain heel cups I posted about in another thread are WORKING! I still have pain in the morning and a bit in the evening, but even at my new job where I'm on my feet about 45-50% of my day (unlike only about 5% at my last job) I haven't noticed much to ANY pain in the past two days. It's almost like I forgot I have PF!! It's awesome...."
It's so awesome. They actually just sent me an email following up with me on how they are working and how my feet are doing along with some coupons and stretching exercise. They did more than my Dr. has!! Awesome...let me know how they're working for you as you wear them more often. They say they work best after breaking them in after 2-3 weeks. I think I'm going on my 3rd week now and they're REALLY working now!
I got these today! I put them in my shoes and went running to try them out. I was able to do a whole mile without pain. I have hope now that I will be able to get my running back up to the level it was before all this started.
I just ordered some of these too, along with the night splint that they now offer. I've been trying to do the exercises that my doctor suggested for stretching the plantar fascia ligament. I am willing to try anything that might get rid of the problem and keep it from coming back.

I highly recommend it. Yesterday, just to make things quick, I wore my old slip on sneakers. They're the same that I wore when walking to work every morning when I developed PF. My feet hurt!! I think they are the reason I developed PF. So-I'm tossing those suckers. Nikes yet too-and when I started walking in them, they were only just over a year old. Oh well.
Anyways-Still loving these heel cups. They're very durable and just provide that support. It seriously feels like someone gave me new heels. There is some discomfort when I first walk in them until my feet adjust, but they say that goes away in time. For $25, you can't beat this remedy. I'm taking them to my foot dr. when I see him for the first time this Saturday. We'll see what other therapies we can use in conjunction to get this GONE!!
Well, I didn't get nearly as much walking in this weekend as I would have liked, but I certainly did get more than usual and it was GOOD! COMFORATABLE? Can you imagine? I actually wore the HTP cups in my flat ballet shoes all around town on Friday night and although my feet did get sore, it wasn't my heels, but just my feet from general walking! The next morning-less than normal pain, even after a night of walking! It's taking them a bit to break in as they say it does take a few eeks until your foot adjusts, but it feels really good and I can walk normally in them. I HIGHLY recommend it. Honestly, it feels like I have replacement heels. YEAH! I'll let you know more about long term results, but already, GREAT.
Yeah, I ordered them, so they should be here in 2-3 days. I'm doing a walk with one of my Sp grounds on Saturday and am planning on visiting a museum in DC on Sunday, so I'll have PLENTY of walking to test them on this weekend!
