Happy St Paddy day! It looks like we are going to be getting our Paddy storm here tomorrow....It looks it will be around 36 tho, so most of it shouldn't stay long...Oh how I wish for nice warmer weather here. Enough is enough in WI....

My only sister lost her X DH on March 3. Her birthday was yesterday and I was going to call her, but she beat me to it LOL....She seems to be doing very well. They had been married seven years and maybe 4 of those years he was in an assisted living place....She said it was just too hard on her to handle him....

Now that we have a new Pope named St Francis Assisi, I am really going to have to take care of my big statue of him that is in our back yard in the summer. He is 5' tall...I go out each morning and put my arm around him and say a prayer for my grandma that belonged to the third order of St Francis....

Just stopping by to see how things are going with my Spark friends today....We are having this darn black ice right now. There are so many accidents on the interstate and on the on/off ramps too...You just can't see this ice at all until you are the one sliding off of the road.....

Cathy, Thanks for the info. It sure won't hurt for me to try this out. I am trying to eat less at one time now too and have 6 smaller meals instead. That is how I felt the last time he went down and took the two polyps out. It seems like my pills are just sitting in my throat. I do know they aren't LOL....

alum is for canker sores and you are not suppose to swallow it. Okay, I will mother you now. When I started juicing, many of my skin tags which are just polyps disappeared. Here is the recipe for mean green again. www.rebootwithjoe.com/mean-green-jui

I had nasal polyps that were in my throat and on the vocal chords at age 12 and 25. I have not struggled with them since thankfully. I remember how painful they are to have removed and how long it takes to heal and I was young then. I pray they can find a way to help you shrink them without surgery.

Doesn't alum help shrink swelling? I need to go look that up.

Cathy, We are suppose to have some warmer weather coming our way here too. But, with it, we are going to get rain too...

The snow has really gone down now too. I actually went out yesterday with just regular shoes on LOL...No boots for now...

I have been trying to eat alot smaller meals. My esophagus is bothering me once again. The dr did take out one polyp again last Nov and he did leave one too. So, I guess I just have to start doing things a little differently now. I have to take yougart with my pills all of the time too.....

I think he is afraid to take out to many as the one that he did take out almost two years ago landed me in the ICU for three days...The area just didn't want to stop bleeding....He than went back down that Oct and got the rest of the polyp...Oh the fun of getting older LOL

The sun is shining again, but it is only in the 30s heading towards 59. Think I will hurry and get dressed to see if I can walk the dogs this morning before heading for the shop. That should warm me. I am also motivated to eat healthy today. I need to get back on track badly. I did so well last week.

Cathy, I too want to say good for you getting your mask nice and cheap. You need these kinds of breaks!! I only get what I really need from the company too. They charged $150 for my full mask. It doesn't even included the strap for it either. I found out now that I don't even need to be getting the full mask all of the time....Just the new cousion instead.....

We had one wonderful day here yesterday and on to another one just like it today....I will take it LOL But, than do I have much of a choice...

We walked around our big block here yesterday. Have to be so careful with the ice and now water melting too. We made most of the walk on the street instead....

Good morning and happy Friday everyone.

Nice going on that Amazon deal, Cathy. I have been wondering if all the sleep supplies will get less expensive with more of them being made. I keep reading more and more articles about the importance of sleep to health.

What a sweet story about your dog. They are so intuitive/attentive and I think we signal to them what we need too. Great to wake up not hurting!

I'm getting our house ready for guests and a new carpet in my basement (flooded with Sandy). I'm looking forward to feeling "together" again. Lots of sorting and tossing and reorganizing still ahead. Take care everyone. And have a wonderful weekend!

Luckily your DS has you. It takes one more burden off his shoulders.

Sun is shining and my spirits are soaring. I think we will be in the upper 50s again.

Got a signal booster app for the phone and a free square app and free square so can possibly take debit cards as soon as the Square arrives. I learned about all this at the Business Plan class last night. I also signed Mode O Day up for Twitter on their recommendation.

Got sick last night. Food poisoning, I think as I feel great this morning. Anyway, I went to bed with neck pain and jaw clenched tight. Just as I was falling asleep, Buddy, plopped his body around the back of my neck, head and shoulders. We slept like that all night and my jaw and shoulders and neck feel wonderful this morning. No pain, no vertigo. It is like that dog is my own personal nurse. That is the first time he has ever done that. Normally he likes to camp out near my lower back or feet.

Hope to get lots done today. Oh and while trying to order stuff yesterday an add popped up for $9. cpap masks on Amazon with free shipping. I ordered one. Shoot that beats the $50. they normally cost. I bet my style is out of style. I should be able to get them cheap for awhile.

Cathy, We actually had one big snow storm on May 10th one year. I do believe it was 1988...

We have the sun shinning here this morning and boy will I ever take that one!! It is only 25, but it always seems warmer when the sun it out..

We are going to be eating our chili again today. We always make more than enough for one day when we make it....

Nothing going on here today....But, than you never know what the DS has in store for us LOL...It is so hard when he is in Afghanistan and has me to do his running....

I know many places get snow even in April. We have actually had snow in April. I think every place has its issues. We have rain, flooding, land slides, tsunamis, explosive volcanoes, and earthquakes. We have even had a hurricane and one major tornado in my life time. Florida has hurricanes annually and now sink holes. You get snow and not sure what else. I live with the rain and gray, so I can enjoy the beautiful greenery, waterfalls, rivers, lakes and snow capped mountains and the milder temperatures.

Lost the gain from last week and another pound at Biggest loser.

Cathy, They are calling for sunshine today. I see the snow plow driver left us a nice package once again at the end of the driveway...Darn, I am so tired of this winter. I think we are going to go for a walk tho and just see how much snow the neighbors got too...and where on earth they are putting it....

I had a van, so know what you mean about the dog house cover. LOL

Glad he was able to fix it.

Wish you had some sunshine.

Can't remember if I mentioned I mowed the yard yesterday in shirt sleeves. It hit 60 here. Today is colder and rainy and expected to rain all week. Typical Oregon Spring. I am not complaining. at least not until Friday.

Weigh in tonight at Biggest Loser. I am sure I lost, but I don't trust their scales.

Here I am again complaining about this darn snow. Yup, we are going to get hit once again. It does sound like it will be worse tho on Tues afternoon. I don't mind going out in the snow, it is my DH that I worry about with his COPD...These darn men think they are Superman even if they are 74 and counting LOL....

We had an engine problem with our van and yup, my DH did figure it out. It was spark plug #5 and the put new spark plug wires on it than too as long as he had to take this darn big dog house thing off inside of the van...

Glad you are home and enjoying sunshine.

Merri, Hope your snow passes soon and some snowdrifts poke their little white heads up through the ground.

Had a great time at the birthday party. Enjoyed all my former co-workers. The birthday girl's MIL was a friend to my sisters growing up. Kind of nice to see and talk to her.

Unfortunately, I slept 12 hours today. I was exhausted. Think I will go walk a mile to see if I can still do it. That and cleaning the floors are my only plans today.

It is only 9 here this morning, but the sun it out. That really helps tho...

They are calling for more snow Monday night and Tues morning. I have been waiting for my rheumatologist visit since early Jan. I am starting to think that it isn't arthritis in my left elbow but an ulnar nerve problem instead...It seems like we just get one thing done and on to the next....

We were busy being our DS's secretary on Fri. We had to get a bank draft to send on to the man that is going to fix his DD's car. Than off to Fedex to get it mailed. Went to the bank to get the renter's check figured out. Called the renter to make sure she was cutting a new check. Had to call the man and let him know that the bank draft check was on it's way.. Had to write a check for my DS for the storage for his car...Whew.....

Our DS did order me a new vacuum hose for me tho...I guess it was all worth it than LOL...

Good morning and happy Sunday, team. I am home from traveling and it is sunny in VA. I am so glad to see it.

I slept so well last night. What a delight, my own bed, after being away. Today is all about home. Walking around home--outside in the sun and cooking at home. DH is making me a waffle for breakfast. Ahhhhhhh!

Have a wonderful day!

Rain predicted all week, but highs in mid 50s, so it will be a mild week. No sign of green on the trees yet. Still watching for the first crocuses.

You both will be enjoying your own spring shortly.

Have a birthday party with former co-workers to attend. It will be so nice. Better get hopping.

Just hearing about spring brightensmy day, Cathy. An open door, softer breezes...sounds wonderful.

This is my last day in Ohio. Powdery snow, chilly.

I have done well with travel eating. No time to snack has helped. Lots of walking.

Enjoy the weekend, friends!

I am sorry. Although is was overcast, I saw a little blue and the temp was amazing. I left the door open at the shop. It must have hit the 60s. The daffodils are showing the slightest hint of yellow in their bulging stems. We should have flowers in a couple of weeks. Woo hooo!

We have had one snowy Feb and boy, I sure hope that March is better to us. Yesterday there was about 3' of snow at the end of our driveway on top of what was IN the driveway....This morning, the city is giving us a break. They only plowed about one foot of snow this time....We are just hoping that it isn't really hard and icy snow....

One good thing is that I might have lost at least one lb doing all of this shoveling. My DH does have his nice almost new snow blower and that was a blessing. It was so nice tho to see the neighbors actually helping one another. Most have never talked to one another before this....I just hope that they will at least wave to one another now when meeting...

Two days dizzy free so far.

Each stage is a gift. My oldest GS turned 18 this year. It may be a few years before we reconnect. I seem to go through an awkward stage with the teens, but have noticed with my own children that they come back about age 23 or so.

Good morning! It's so true, ALL kids grow up so fast. Every age has something to enjoy though. It's such a treat to realize I have a "grown up" relationship with someone I've loved since they were babies. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, what a gift.

We are heading out of town for a few days to Ohio. Found some Smart Wool leggings that I am packing! Boy do they feel great.

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning Sparks friends. It is looks like later today we are in for a few snow storms to be hitting us. One right after another. It sounds like heavy wet stuff too...I guess the good thing out of all of this, we really don't have anything that is important to go to and we can get what we do need today in groceries if need be...

I wish your grandkids were young again. The youngest one is going to be 22 now in one month...We do have so many good memories with them tho...When we do get together now at family gatherings, we have so much to remember and talk about...

Good morning! Sounds like full, active day, Cathy. Love days that include GK's!

Having a painter look at the outside trim on our house for spring painting today. One of those maintenance tasks that is important to do, though not too glamorous. Then out to lunch with a friend and then a massage. Now where can I fit in that workout? Got to...

Take care everyone.

You know it is funny, I don't wear much jewelry. The sun needs to be shining for me to want to wear it. I do like bracelets though. which as I was typing this the sun peeked out again on my hands. Boo, it just faded.

What I like is the touching and sorting and pretty nuances to the colors. I need to write a poem about that.

Love the lure story. That is the nice thing about e-bay. You can get a bidding war on something that you might not know was valuable. Your DD was a blessing to the people she bought the lure from too. What a great example of human kindness. People are good.

Cathy, One time our oldest DD had gone to this rummage sale and they had this big pile of nothing waiting to be taken away..Our DD asked if she could go through it and she found some old fishing lures....She put them on ebay and one of them got her $1,500!!!

The man that bought it knew who valuable it was too....My DD split the money with the couple that had the sale...

Our DD has found alot of jewelry that way too.

The daffs and cherry blossoms are pretty much in sync, but the tulips come a bit later. Weather is changeable in March here, so there is variation though.

As a young person I didn't much care for jewelry, but I like it now. Fascinating, tactile, luminescent. I've had two friends who used to be chemists/biologists and in retirement both of them took up jewelry making! I think it's the metals, crystals, and chemical processes but so creative too. Fun to see the changes in all of us.

Have a good spark day everyone! And Cathy, so agree about Spark friends giving back!

I think being kind to the people on SP counts as mission work that keeps giving back.

I love cherry blossoms with happy little daffodils. Do they bloom at the same time? We don't have a lot of cherry trees, so don't remember.

Blue sky and sun just peeked out. It has been rather dismal. and very wet the last few days.

Business is still going well. DD transferred to another job and has less hours, so it is belt tightening time. again, but the good news is all the time for her to make and process her jewelry and clothes. She went to a swap meet today and bought several bags of broken jewelry for a dollar each. There was some junk, some decent stuff and a few true treasures. I told her to take one piece to the jewelers, because, I think it is gold. I always loved sorting and touching rocks and the same applies to old jewelry. It is so tactile and you find treasures. Right now I am into enameled pins and earrings, and think they will be very popular rings and hair pins.

Hi my Sparks friends: It is only 14 here right now at almost 8 am....The sun is out and boy does that ever help matters.

We went to church last night and no Priest showed up. Most of the people stayed for about 20-25 min or so and than the lector came out and said we might as well leave. Even if they did find another Priest to step in, it would be about another half hour before he could get there....Now, does that still count for our weekly obligation? LOL

Good morning! I love spring flowers too and our daffodils are making their way into the world. In metro Washington DC -- I live on the VA side of that area--the daffodils and tulips are highlights of the season, along with the cherry blossoms. The dafs last a long time in spring here, which is a special treat.

Have a great Sunday!

Cathy, I love shoveling the snow, but it can go away now LOL I love spring. But I am getting so that when I see the beautiful leaves come on the trees, I know I am going to have to rake those darn things sooner or later too....

I love to see the flowers peaking through too. We take our two big flower pots in during the winter and I can see them starting to wake up already down stairs. I water them once a month...

Good morning! Good to think of the Northwest, Cathy. Was there last August, need to head back.

I'm glad it's Saturday. Heading to my book group this morning and then relaxing most of the day. Hope to take a long walk with a friend, always good.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

I live in St. Helens. We are across the river from Woodland. Tacoma is not far. I think about an hour and a half drive. We are actually only about 30 miles from Mt.St. Helens, but the river is in the way and no bridges here. Don't you just love all the snow capped volcanoes and the waterfalls and water and green. It truly is beautiful country.

Merry, I am glad you are enjoying the snow. The last two years we had winter right into June. This has been what I like to think of as a more typical year. The tulips and crocuses are poking their heads out, the camelias had the audacity to bloom in Portland on the warm side of the big buildings. I think it is going to be a beautiful spring for flowers and gardening this year.

Well, we woke up to about 4" of snow this morning. It looks like nice light snow tho. It does look so pretty when it first comes. They are saying this is the first and there is one coming after this one. So, it looks like we will be outside for sometime today.....I do love to shovel tho and that way the weight does come off too....

Good morning. I don't know if I mentioned it before or not, but Cathy, I grew up in Tacoma so know the area pretty well. Also had friends in Washougal!

Virginia is another land, but a nice one. We have a house on a lake which caters to my Northwest love for water. The good thing is that the water is warm in summer! I remember freezing in Puget Sound as a kid, but still going in. (Intrepid water lover)

We see lots of hummingbirds here! They are always a treat.

When, I fed the hummingbirds they would buzz the windows each spring to let us know they were back, and I better get the food out.

I live about 30 miles North of Portland on the Oregon side of the Columbia River. I have been through Stayton before. It was about like our town in size.

Toni, I get to see the little ones get on the bus here too. It is just on the corner from us here. I sure wish they had bus service for our kids back than. I guess we didn't holler loud enough LOL....These kids today have it made...

Most of them are from a "one parent" home too...So, alot of the moms don't have a car either to get them to school...

It is only 8 here this morning. We have to get our hair cut today and get some bird seed...It almost seems like the birds are looking at our windows and letting us know it is time to get them some food. We have a heated bird bath for them and they are out there this morning taking a bath!

Good morning. Have been sleeping longer and well and it feels great.

Our neighborhood is turning over to some young families. We love that it is happening, though we miss some of the older people who have moved away. It's also a bit strange to be an "older" person in the neighborhood...though no one is shoveling our walk in the snow yet! (The sign that you are really old here!) I love watching the little ones run to the bus stop in the morning and parents standing on the corner waiting with them.

Heading to yoga today.

What rural community in Oregon do you live in Cathy? I went to school with a girl from Stayton.

Take care. Toni

It was like that in Portland. They got tough on drugs, gangs and prostitution in one are of Portland and moved it out to our neighborhood. I was so happy to move back to the rural community I grew up in.

Cathy, When we moved in our new house almost 49 years ago, there were very few houses in this area than. Needless to say, alot of houses were built later and so many darn apartments too. That is where the trouble is...the apartments were they don't give a darn about anything or anybody....

We have to town houses across the street from us and they are kept us really nice. Good people are renting there too....

Tortoise, I hope your GD had a wonderful birthday. Ten was my big party year too. I preferred going someplace with a friend or cousin, but glad I was able to experience at least one birthday party.

Merri, Sorry you are not living in a safer community. Hopefully, there will be a turn around and can feel safe again.

Cathy, I so agree with you about being outside to walk. We just have to more careful lately with all of the trouble we seem to be having around here lately. We had one lady have her purse stolen right at the grocery store we shop at. It is more out in the country and never thought there would be any trouble that far out of our city...

We had one man shot in the stomach about 5-7 miles from our house...We do walk around our area here tho..

I too would like it if all of the places were closed on Sunday too...I know we have been staying home alot more now and it is so nice to find things here to do...

My BIL was over here yesterday and my DH was talking to our DS over in Afghanistan and was my BIL ever surprised how we could actually talk to our DS over the Skype. Than when my DH took his lap top by my computer so our DS could see what we were looking for on mine, I thought my BIL was going to faint LOL....He had never seen a lap top being moved like that and than NO cord LOL....Oh it was just so funny....

My DS was trying to find the train whistle that we had for my computer for my email...But, when we had taken it to Best Buy, they lost my whistle...We found it and my BIL did survive too...

Here is a site that my DD told me about to walk one mile.

Exercise TV/Start walking at home 1 mile with Leslie Sansone..I tried it and really like it..Very easy on my knees and back too...

Celebrating my grand daughter's 10th birthday today! A milestone birthday (double digits) and sobering for this grand mother who frankly can recall being 10 not THAT long ago. Ho ho!

Hope everyone finds some rest in their Sundays. I sometimes wish it were the "olden days" when everything was closed and people had Sunday family dinners with not much to do but visit and relax.

Morning to my Sparks friends.
We stayed up later than usual last night. I just had to see some of the cruise ship people come off of the ship and they were OK....What an ordeal they must have had....So many terrible stories of what they had to do during their stay on there...

Today is going to only reach to 20 and be good all weekend too...Good thing we have alot of food that we make during the week and have good leftovers....

Good morning. Boy, 7 years! And how great that the stress is not within your family. What a comfort, Merri.

Slept like a rock last night. I think I mentioned this, but I realized I was drinking water until late at night and now I realize it was waking me up in the night a few times. Without water before bed I am sleeping all night. Now that's progress.

Happy weekend to everyone. I am ready, are you?

I appreciate the computer info. I do a lot of the program updating and cleaning out myself, but don't know how to clean the inside, that is for sure!

I'm celebrating one year on Spark today. Feels big to me and a happy event. A year of maintenance will be more important, but meanwhile, I'm kicking up my heels a bit.

Have a good day, everyone. And Happy Valentine's Day. You are the best of Spark! emoticon

Every summer all the computers at the Educational Service District went to the tech department for their yearly update. They got vacuumed out, programs updated and any unnecessary downloads removed. They always came back faster and smarter.

I have taken my lap top in once in the last six years for servicing and they got a ton of dog hair out of it even though I keep it brushed off and wiped down. They got rid of a ton of programs that came with the computer that were just sales pitches. It was a good move. It has been two years and I was planning on doing it again this summer, but my techies have moved to the city, so now need to find someone new.

My big old HP laptop is twice the machine of any other laptop I have used. I want to keep it in good condition. I would hate to have to replace it.

Vertigo was worse again today. The morning was quiet at the shop, but I was hopping this afternoon. If the shop keeps going like this, DD may have a great little retirement income sooner than later. We start our business classes on Feb. 20th. I need to get going on the grant paperwork, but my head is too buzzy to do anything that requires brain power now.

TORTISE110, When we went to Best Buy a year ago Dec, they had suggested that we take out this plan where we pay for a three year plan and than they look at each one of our computers (3) for the next three years free. I something needed tweeking, it would be fixed in the process....

They also make sure tha the anti-virus in working ok than too....Our DGS that set all of this up for us has now moved on and it working for Aero Space in TX...Now we are on our own LOL He did say tho that he can still get into our computers from where he is...

Good morning! I had no idea a computer needed a "check up" once a year. Hmmmm, I am behind on THAT schedule for sure.

Slept well last night. I realized I'd been drinking water too late and it had me getting up a couple of times. I changed that and wow, what a difference. Simple, but effective.

Hope everyone has a good day. BTW, the potato soup turned out great!

Well, here it is again one day before Lent starts for alot of us. I can do so well during Lent with my eating. It must be my bringing up and always knowing it was just a good idea I guess to sacrifice some LOL..

We are going to be taking in this desk top computer today for it's one year check-up. I guess even computers need attention too...

I do have my lap top that I can use tho too....I still have a hard time using it as we had to replace my regular one when the man thought he needed it more than I did when he broke in and took our stuff...

Hi Cathy and team, Life can surely be hard sometimes and all I know is it's better to stay healthy so we can live it as best we can. You offer us a lot of wisdom, Cathy. We can't do it all and certainly cannot live someone else's life.

I have a "spacious" day today with a few hours of work, a meeting with great friend, and then cooking dinner tonight. I have this recipe for Potato Soup from last October's Cooking Light that is yum. (You can tell it is yum because I am talking about it before breakfast!!) And I will get in some cardio and ST in-between things.

Thank you for listening. I worked in special ed so many years and watched families put their lives on hold and grieve their children who were in pain and just hanging on. Some clung so tight it was not good for anyone. Others did just fine and still others sought out resources because they knew their child would be in better care in a facility. I can't began to imagine the heart ache they must have felt. I am blessed with strong, healthy, wise and content children. Not sure how I lucked out, but I count my blessings every day.

Think I will try calling the VA advocate line again.

PS: Woke with major vertigo today. Just another reminder why I can't care for DH. Thought I had that whipped completely with the magnesium. I think when I am stressed at night I grind my teeth and that helps to break up those questionable crystals. I will have to google it to see if my theory is correct.

Cathy, I so agree. This is the place to come to and vent all you want. I more than likely never know what it is like to walk in your shoes. I am sure too that the three of them can take care of your DH alot better than you can....

I think I might have lost a lb or two out there shoveling. My weigh in day is today...So, once I get down stairs for my shower, I will weigh in...

Good morning, team. I so admire your knowing what you can and can't do and holding your ground on DH's care. Rant all you want. I'm sure it's hard to stand firm.

I'm back at work and life today and looking forward to routine. I picked up a couple of pounds on vacation and want to get right back at them.

When DS and DIL were renting the house I am in now to a young couple they liked, They did the same thing. They let them have December free. Now they have a big house and a bunch of dental bills and two children, so are much tighter with their money. Lucky for us, they aren't charging Buddy and me to live here nor is my daughter and they give her a 200. dollar break on the rent each month. On the other hand with all of us living in their rental, it probably makes upkeep easier, because DS would probably be repairing things at our houses in addition to the rental. He is just a good son like that.

DH did make it to ER eventually and was given two bags of IV fluid. He looked much better today and acted better. The upshot is that his daughter is moving to a different complex into a one bedroom. So we are going to have to find different living arrangements for him. They think he should come back to me. If three of them can't care for him with help from friends and cousins, I am not sure how they think I can care for him by myself. I am standing firm on this. He has not followed up on mental health or doctors appointments. I can't help someone who refuses help. Here I am ranting again. I guess it helps me think it through. Sorry.

I really did have a nice day. He was in a better mood, so we were able to visit. Then, I had a wonderful visit with DS and family. DIL baked chicken breasts with pesto. They were delicious. The kids and son were practicing handstands. He held them by the ankles.

Every time I got stressed today and wanted to eat something with chocolate, I thought about the poor overweight dog and managed to stop myself. Hoping weigh in on Tuesday will still be a loss. I had a few bad days, but more good days this week.

Cathy, I am not sure if I have ever mentioned this or not, but two of our kids do have places in FL. Our DD & SIL here in town have a condo in FL. In St Perersburg area....Our DS does own a home in the Miami area too...He now rents it out and more than likely will never live in it again. That is where he lived with his last wife and she just trashed it so bad when he was over in Afghanistan......He had to pay quite a bit for it to be brought back up to par. She had left a cat in the one bedroom for over a month by itself when she and her kids moved out....The both showers were soooo dirty. Their pool was like sludge...

One good thing tho that the Air Force people do for one anther. They help them in a time of need. This one man, maybe a neighbor, found someone to clean with him and get the house looking ok once again...Of course they did need our DS's money to get it back that way....It is now rented out to a nice lady with one teenage DD..

Thanks everyone.

Someday, I will see Florida too.

Hope that DH sees, how much he is ruining everyone else's health. If he does not or cannot change he is going to need to go to a nursing home or out on the street.

He needs more drugs. He is at the end of his life. I just hurt for all of them, but know enough to protect myself now.

Cathy, That has to be so heart breaking when everyone knows what is best for your DH, but he does have a mind of his own......Like I told Barb some time ago, I do think this is the only thing that your DH can control. If and when he goes to the dr.

I remember when my DH got hurt at work at only 44 years old and the only thing that he could control with his own activities in the house....He had to have some say about something LOL...

We are suppose to get some freezing rain here now today. What next? LOL We have no reason to go out at all. It is a good thing that it is on Sun too. At least no work for most people.

Good morning, team. Just read your vacation notice, Cathy, and am so pleased you will be getting a break soon.

And let's hear it for the right snow equipment. Sure makes all the difference when housebound. In metro DC we do not have snow, but our son near Boston surely does. He and his family have made the best of it with sledding, fires, and grilling. He was pretty tired from keeping up with the driveway snow though. They had 30 inches!

We had a wonderful Florida break. I haven't been there very often, but can see why folks love it. We toured a botanical garden and took a tour by water. The trip was a gift.

Looking forward to an "easy does it" Sunday with some exercise included. Great going on the weight loss, Cathy!!

Cold air is a little hard on the lungs.

DH did not go to the doctors. He did not allow me to take Sasha home so she could see a vet. There were seven people trying to reason with him. He was quite verbally abusive to everyone around him. It was so sad. I was glad to be home.

Cathy, There you are once again LOL...I am glad to see you ok and just having alot of things going on in your life right now. I totally understand what you mean about having the dog with you.

We got really hit with some snow here. We beat everyoone else in this whole area around here. We got over 12' here in about 12 hours of very heavy snow. I had to be right out there with my DH as he thinks he only has one speed..FAST....We do have a very nice walk behind snow blower with power control.

I had to kick him in the ankles a few years ago to buy it. Those little push ones are no good in this heavy wet stuff. I love to shovel, so I was right out there with him. He has COPD and I don't want to leave him out there by himself ever....

sorry, I am 160 e-mails behind. I missed you guys. Thanks for holding the fort down.

I lost 4 pounds at Biggest Loser Tuesday night. The weather has been better, so Buds and I have been going for evening walks. I cleaned last night. Monday night I helped DIL. She had oral surgery and her mom came to stay with her and got sick too. Anyway, just a bunch of little things. I was going to vacation end of Feb, but DD talked me into waiting till after Biggest Loser so I could go skinny and maybe with my winnings.

DH is very ill again. Step DD is trying to get him to doctor, but he refuses to go. He is severely dehydrated. Sasha (the collie) is coming back to live with me. I go to visit tomorrow to see if I can get DH to hospital and bring Sasha home. I have to move back out to the garage again. I promised DD I would not bring her into the house.

Built a fire last night to ward off the cold. So pretty. I love a warm fire on a cold February night!

Merri! So glad you can be warm--reliably warm--asap.

Very chilly for us in Virginia right now. The wind is wicked. I just "blew in" from the grocery store. Making a coffee cake for my husband's birthday in the morning. (We do bd breakfasts and it's always fun). Picked up kale though, to add to my chicken soup tonight. I have been trying to figure out how to get more into my diet. Not used to cooking it!

Kathy, It seems to be a very slow and easy exercise that I think most of us could do too..Thanks from me too..

Our old furnace thinks it doesn't have to work anymore...It stopped at about 3 or so yesterday afternoon and than thought it was ok to start up again at 10:30 last night once we got in bed...It did get down to 67, but not bad really...

The man came this afternoon and looked at it and said,,new furnace needed. We are in Energy assistance, so we will have this one installed free....They did the last one for us too back in 1987...

thanks so much! I find that if I can make the once a week stretching yoga, I am not sore any more, even when I push it in the gym. Beats ibuprofen, though of course it has it's place.

Dr. Oz had a great evening routine to stretch out those offending muscles. I just looked at it and did some of them with the video and now that I deleted the e-mail link, I can't find it again to share with you.

Maybe you tube has it.......... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dr8Og8v44uE Hooray.....here it is. It seems to loosen the whole spine. I loved it.

TORTISE110, I do believe I had yoga on my Wii board. My DD has told me a few times to try it out...I now have to get rid of these darn back pains. I get some easily when I get upset. Now that my DD seems to be calming down, I should than too LOL...

Cathy, Take care and try to keep that cold away....I usually never get them and have had two this winter already....

Cathy, hope you take care and dodge that cold!

We are getting another blast of winter today, after a weird and balmy couple of days. Our son departs for his semester in wilderness leadership. We'll miss him, as well as like the freer days that will follow for us. Excited for his adventure though.

Slept like a rock last night. Love it when that happens.

Have a wonderful day, everyone.

I am glad that it was not your DDs heart.

My DD takes yoga too. I have in the past. Really enjoy it, but the timing is not right.

Lot's of reading today at the shop. Tomorrow, I probably should consider working again. I feel sluggish. I think I am trying to fight off GDs cold. I have pumped up the supplements and laying low.

It does more and more like my DD had been lifting there heavier weights and that is what happened to her. She apparently pulled her chest muscles...Once she found out it wasn't her heart, her blood pressure is coming down very well now...What a scare being so far away....Maybe in the summer it doesn't seem so far, but we aren't winter drivers at all..

GRAMSIECAKES2 I surely hope your daughter's health and money issues get on the best of tracks soon.

Glad you are seeing some daily progress, Cathy. You know just what it takes!

Working early, but taking a mid-morning yoga class that I'm looking forward to. So good to stretch out my whole self, including my busy brain.

Hope everyone has a satisfying day!

We will have to think positive thoughts for your daughter.

Leadership training sounds interesting.

Lost another half pound on BL. I blew it on Saturday, so am actually pleased I was able to get this much back on track. This coming week will be better. .

Gotta go, the green beans are boiling over.

Cathy, I too think that the drs are really great with their bills. It is the hospital that she is more worried about...I think they are just going to have to do something with some of their toys that they have to have on the farm....Sell some of their land too.....They do have alot of resources that the hospital just might have them sell to help with the bill....Only time will tell...

Her bp has been coming down really nice now that she knows it isn't her heart anyway...
