In South Florida, we're starting the day in the 80's. I sweat a lot and get dehydrated easily so it's more comfortable while more expensive to work out in a gym. Cause I sure won't do it at home - big problem I'm working on.

So true! Its blowing and windy today. I'll be tromping through muck on the trails, because the dogs and I need our walk.

LOL! So true about all the good looking people in the photos!
I am cold here with you in Michigan. Ok, it's Spring Break for my kids this week and wouldn't you know it has to snow today. That is usually what happens every year here! I usually gain 10 lbs in the winter months because I can't get outside and do my walking or biking. I am so ready for warmer weather. Hang in there girl -warm weather will get here someday!

You make some great points. Although I do get a lot of exercise in during the winter. I live in Pittsburgh so my winter is pretty much the same as yours. I just do work out videos in the comfort of my own home. And I gotta say I like the ones where they have "real" people working with the professional trainer. Ones that are over-weight and don't always do the moves perfectly.

How true! And I would really like to see some "normal" people in those pictures. When you weigh 200+ pounds, some of those exercises are physically impossible!

I have been reading magazines, books, articles, blogs etc about exercise...a lot. My question is.....Why do we only see people who are grinning like fools, in tank tops and shorts, running on a well groomed and clean path, through a glorious park, in summer with the sun streaming down (and the people with them are identical to them)?
Where are the grumpy people, out in the rain and snow, trudging through waist high drifts in snow suits with covered faces and knee high boots?
Anyone can make their exercise quota on a "perfect" day... how many can make it when the days (yes days...Michigan has weeks of them) are cruddy and gloomy and downright awful to be out in? By the way...I've been cold since the end of October and haven't warmed up yet. emoticon
