I read an interesting article recently that said drinking milk spikes your insulin more than most other foods (including soda)... they think that something about the whey protein causes a metabolic nudge in our bodies (which makes sense, since it is meant for baby animals who need to put on weight quickly).

So, milk / whey powder seems to be good for putting on muscle... it is an ideal food for me post-HIIT / strength training (but I am starting to limit my milk intake at other times since I am insulin resistant and don't want it to spike very often).

Something to think about!

I could never even do HIIT fasted... I always make sure to do it after a meal (but yeah I do wait about an hour after that meal to do it).
