Keeping up with my goals and tracking regularly help. That is, I'm happier when I do these things than when I let them slide. Also, acknowledging small personal successes and allowing myself to be proud of me makes life better.

I get up every morning and tell myself that this will be a good day.. and then I do everything to keep the apartment full of light ... If it gets to dark then the thoughts and feelings return .. so light is key.

Taking a walk every day has changed my life! I've been on antidepressants and regular therapy for 10 years now, but never considered exercise and I must say that NOTHING kills my anxiety quicker than getting outside and walking my dog.
I've reached out at my lowest point for help, and got a bundle of open arms to help pull me out. Those closest to me have helped to turn my despair into hope and things improve every day. I'm happy more often than sad. I have stopped to listen to my kids more often and show them the love they crave. I now have beautiful happy kids that make me happy.
You have never really lived until you have done something for someone else who can never repay you.
Currently my tea is making me very happy. I've taken to drinking lots of tea every day, trying to hit a minimum of my two litres. I love tea and am glad I've discovered my lovely thermos which allows me to keep the tea leaves inside and just add hot water over and over again, rather than to have to make tea each time from scratch. Also my noise canceling headphones are making me happy, as they are soothing my migraines.
I went back to my Dr. and asked to switch anti-depressants, after giving the last one 6 months and not feeling any better.... now this one is working!! Whee! I have motivation and it feels good! I chose to get up and exercise first thing this morning...something I had to force myself to do before. Life is good. : ) : ) : )
today is a day I choose to get up and go for a walk. gonna see how things go with the vertigo and all. I am going to enjoy the beautiful sunny fall day we have today.!!! What are you doing today to make your day better? Julie

Sooner or later, we will all slow down, stumble or fall as we go on our journey to a healthy life, we are only failures when we refuse to get back up and keep on going forward. No matter how many times we may stumble and fall, get back up and keep on going!
I've taken some action to limit my depression. Here are some examples. I've quit drinking, I've gone on medication and been consistant in the dosage etc. and I've taken up exercise. As for the physical effects of clinical depression, well they still linger, but if my head is in the right space, I can handle it.

Happiness is a choice ! It doesn't just come to us we have to work at it ! Think over your life and name one thing that you have done to make your life happier and simplier ! Mine is to give up getting envolved in fixing other peoples lives ! I use to make myself misserable trying to keep other people from ruinning their lifes but found out they won't listen to me anyway so i keep conforsations down to the weather and I LOVE YOU ! I can't tell you how much that has help me deal with depression ! How about you ? Please share it might help someone else !
The Lord is my strength and i know i can do better with the Lords help. The Lord laid it on my heart to start a team called GOD ANSWERS PRAYER AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ANYBODY THAT WANTS HELP TO LOSE THEIR WEIGHT TO JOIN . I KNOW I CAN'T DO THIS WITHOUT THE LORDS HELP !
