My positive today is that it will be my second day of running. I'm shooting for a way to maintain the muscle I developed and increase my stamina. I really don't like to run, but I like it when I stop!

I got up early to do 60 minutes of Insanity Max. Cardio and Cardio Abs. Then it was off to church, where the kids helped with the Easter Egg Hunt. Now to start Easter dinner and have family over. It's a GREAT day! He is risen!

I got up at 4:15 AM to work out and of course at 5:30 OPS called to say school was cancelled. They could have made that decision last night so I could sleep in a little! I not only did my workout, but I scooped the driveway by myself. I think that's a positive!! emoticon

One year ago today, March 5th, I fell and broke my left knee and left wrist. Five surgeries on my leg and one on my wrist, over three and a half months in the hospital and rehabilitation center, prayers, phone calls, flowers, cards, emails, visitors, months living in a Senior housing "village" and various helpers later and I am BACK IN AFRICA! Praise the LORD for HIS healing! An emergency room doctor was recently here at the Bongolo Hospital and he was surprised that I was already back here, knowing about the injuries that I had had. Again, Praise the Lord!

emoticon to everyone that posted lately. Handling binges, not gaining weight and working out are all emoticon !

I woke up early this morning so decided to work out. I did 40 minutes of Insanity pure cardio, 20 minutes of Insanity cardio abs and I walked 30 minutes with a friend. The Insanity was my scheduled work out and all I can say is, "WOW."

Stepped on the scale this morning and finally hit the 20lb mark and then some!!

Hubby's sick so no gym together, will probably do one of my walk away the pounds videos today to make up for it.

I'm not able to help financially, I donated a whole $5.00, but I can help in other ways. (That's why I'm doing what I'm doing.) I just couldn't imagine that being one of my kids!!!

My positives are 40 minutes of Insanity, 20 minutes of Insanity abs. and I walked 30 minutes this morning!

I've been working on getting donations for a silent auction to benefit a little girl with a brain tumor. Her name is Amalia Rosenthal and she has Crainiopharyngioma. If anyone is interested in coming to the benefit it will be Saturday, April 13th from noon until 6:00 PM at the Chalco Hills/Wehrspann Lake Recreation Area visitor center. There will be bands, a silent auction, raffles, clowns, food, etc. Woodman of the World will match every donation up to $5,000 so any amount will make a difference for this family.

So far I've gotten three donations and have two tentative ones. So far I've gotten a teddy bear from Build A Bear, a gift certificate from Gigi's Cupcakes for a dozen cupcakes, a member of my therapy dog group bought and donated items from Three Dog Bakery. I can update on the other donations, once I have them in hand!

Weighed and measured today. Happy with both. I don't know what the goal fat % is, but I am below 30%. I started out at 36.5%. It is not BMI. Am going to go on the forum on the program and ask a few questions about measuring and hope it will be clearer. I do feel that I am making progress. Hope everyone stays safe.

I lost 5.5% of my body fat. Yeah!!! That equals 5 lbs. lost since I started my weight loss program. I don't care so much about the lbs as I do about the inches and fat % lost. I was really happy with the 5.5% loss.

At the beginning of the week I tweaked my SparkGoals to include several activities like reading a Health news article, a motivational article, avoiding soft drinks, avoiding eating after 8pm etc. I have been working on making small changes.

I walked 20 minutes, pushed my friend in her chair for 20 minutes and danced for 30 minutes at the Valentine's Day Dance. Now Insanity with my girls.

My cardiac nurse practitioner said I could try the exercise DVD that came with my weight loss program. They start with only 12 minutes of cardio and work up from there. I did it yesterday and today and got through the whole thing. I wasn't perfect because I haven't done the routine before, but I didn't have to stop. It made me feel so good to be able to do it after not being allowed to do any exercise at all for a long time. The person leading the DVD says do that one until it is easy, then move up to the Resistance one, also only 12 minutes. I'll just increase as I can and be happy I can do any exercise at all. I did weigh and measure. I was disappointed that I didn't lose any inches, but I lost 3-1/2 lbs. in 3 weeks. I think I would have lost more, but I have had several times that I had to eat because my blood sugar was too low. I think we are getting my food and insulin more in balance and that will happen less frequently. Overall, it's going well. emoticon

I got the best night's sleep last night in as long as I can remember. I slept through my dentist appt. (oops), but I really needed the sleep. I thought I'll just lay here for a few more minutes when the alarm went off and woke up 2-1/2 hours later. I had deep, restorative sleep and feel so good today.

Good job for sticking with it, M!!!!!!!

Two celebrations. One- I signed up for Color Me Rad 5k for May.... I guess I'll have to start training to run (I'm an elliptical kind of gal but have been doing some HIIT training on the treadmill lately). Wish me luck, and I'm totally open to advice!

My second celebration came from looking in the mirror this morning... I saw that my "pouch".... you know, the one between your tummy and thighs? That skin is now blending and I have a straight line on my hips! So exciting! I still have a tiny pouch above my pelvic bone, but I've had a kid so that's normal. I was so happy.

I started a new weight loss program and have been sticking to it pretty well. This is causing my blood sugar to crash. We have decreased my insulin 4 times in the last week. Today, we cut my long acting, my short acting and my bolus all drastically. It is really dangerous for it to crash as low as it has been. It is because I have been taking insulin according to the old scale and not eating as much. I think I am eating about half as much as I was. I really am not hungry. My endocrinologist has been trying to get me to eat small, frequent meals for years and I was never able to, buy I am eating every 2-3 hours, and I AM DOING IT! So far, so good. I won't weigh myself or measure myself until after 3 weeks are up.

I power walked for 40 minutes and did 30 minutes of Zumba. I stayed under my calories and my third child decided to go to the high school his sister do!!! emoticon

Great start!!! I'm sure it's hard to be told to wait. It's better to take it slow, though!

I cleaned out my closet for quite literally 5 hours today. Work out of lifting and sorting haha. And now my room looks so much better!

Congrats Pensievegazer on your weight loss and buying a dress. I know how good that feels but it's been a while. Today I started trying to exercise again. The cardiologist hasn't allowed me to do anything in a long time, but today I did some physical therapy exercises. I will go from there, but it is somethiing.

Yesterday I bought a dress from a "regular" store!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it looked good! I am SO happy!

And yesterday was 70 pounds down from what I'm pretty sure my heaviest was!!!!!!!!!!

I am so proud of myself for this week. I have done great with my fitness and food goals- making healthy choices all the time!!!! There's a freaking cake in my fridge and I haven't touched it except when I ate a proper portion. I forgot my headphones when I went to the gym on Monday and I still did over an hour of cardio. It was my Birthday on Monday and I made healthy choices all day. And I DON'T feel like I'm missing out; I feel great! I LOVE good food!

Yesterday I walked over 5000 steps and can't figure out where I went! Usually I need to take a walk "around the block" to get that many. I'm gradually working up to more steps.

These are some great things, Sparkfriends!

One of my goals was to eat plenty of protein this week; I can't seem to get enough nutrients and protein with my calorie allowance. So, I got some whey powder and blended it in a delicious strawberry, banana, cherry, blueberry smoothie. Yummm
I also worked out for 70 minutes today on the elliptical, then did some push ups.
I bought the iron gym door pull-up thing and it arrived today! It came with push up handles, ab straps, and a rope-less jump-rope. I like it a lot.

A lot of positives today :-)

I have spent the last two mornings working out and love it. I got a kinect for Christmas with a work out program (haven't opened that yet), Harry Potter game, and Dance Central 3... I have been playing Dance Central and SWEATING every day. I love it!!!

So happy that the Christmas holiday is almost over! Don't get me wrong - I love the holiday's to spend with family but not the carb and sugar loaded goodies that come with it.

I managed to stick to only 2 small and within calorie budget goodies today but Sunday and Monday I took advantage of 3 iced Christmas cookie each days.

The good thing that came about this was I realized how far I have come from my eating habbits last year to this year. I would have eaten probly half a dozen cookies ech day but this year my stomach could barely handle the couple that I had.

Yesterday I walked 4.23 miles in a little under 50 minutes. I also ate out lunch and dinner and stayed in my calorie range. Yeah, for prelogging calories.

I'm eating dinner out tonight and plan on doing the same!
