A Shout Out to CIncinnati Spark People. I've been here since 2008 and gotten a lot of help from all over the world. Today was the pits but I didn't mess with food. My significant other is in the hospital another day. We thought she would be home after one day. She really wants to come home but can't walk yet. Spent most of the day at hospital trying to help with little things like ice, getting her to eat, etc.
Here's to a better world a year from now. When I got home I did a few small chores around the house and will design my reading schedule tomorrow for teaching this fall's class.
Life marches on to the sound of fireworks. Sympathies to all without electric power. We had only three hour outage two days ago in our "grid."
Best wishes to all.

Here is a link to the Health and Wellness Expo this weekend down at the convention center. Even if you're not a runner, you should go!! There are a ton of vendors there to hand out free samples and answer any question about health or fitness you can think of. There are plenty of people selling stuff too if you're in the market for some new gear.
Really interesting article in yesterday's Enquirer about Lauren Niemes, Executive Director of the Greater Cincinnati Nutrition Council and her fight to improve nutrition in our schools and fight obesity here in Cincinnati:
