My take on that has to do with the fiber and keep in mind you are eating a single serving of cereal and milk for two meals. It isn't "a bowl" it is a serving. Look at the calorie count in the servings and compare that you normally eat for bfast and lunch. And, the fiber does make a big difference as well. I can't bring myself to eat the same meal, 2 times a day for 14 days. I don't think I'd make it.

I didn't know that about fiber... Is it worthwhile to take a fiber supplement then? Or should we just be trying to get more fiber into our general diet?

In re: to the original post, I haven't tried the challenge either, but I've though about it, since I really enjoy the cereal.

I'm not doing the diet, but i have it for breakfast occasionally.... the reason it works is bc of fiber! Once the body gets 30g of fiber you body absorbs only 20% of what you eat after the 30g of fiber. i know there is 9g of fiber in 3/4 of the fiber plus cereal.... high fiber helps you lose weight bc it helps push food out quicker so you wont sit in the body longer... ;)

I started once but quit, just couldn't get to eating the same cereal for breakfast and lunch. Hope someone else can can give you more possitive info.

Has anyone done the Special K diet? (lose 6 pounds in 2 weeks)
