I love desserts. Maybe you shoudl start experimenting with diet desserts? there must be somway to make them taste good and not have a large serving go over 100 cals. emoticon

Oh I knew someone would ask...I have a baking business and catering too. No I don't eat the sweets, I just don't eat properly. And having braces put on hasn't hindered my eating either!!

Ten Things hmmm
1.I am 46, 3 children 17,14 and 11 and an amazing spouse.
2. Struggling with why I cannot commit to my own health i.e. weight.
3. I own my own business
4. Love to cook read (not enough)
5.Bought our dream home last summer
6.I want desperately to be fit and healthy
7. I finally admitted I need help and support with losing weight.
8. I am a very social person,love meeting new people.
9. I got braces in March which was a life long dream.

Ten things, which ten? OK here goes;

1.I'm a stay at home Mom with aspirations of going back to school.
2. I have been married for almost 13 years(July).
3. I have two really great children, Jessica(9) and James(3 almost 4)they are the light of my life.
4. I have to lose 90 pounds (maybe more if I get really ambitious)
5. I have been overweight my whole life.
6. I gained 6lbs with my first pregnancy and 56lbs with my second (put on bedrest)
7. I have a sister in NB who is a dental hygenist and a brother who is spending the summer in Gros Morne National Park as a guide.
8. My brother has been diabetic since he was 2 (he's 23). My sister and I get checked every 6 months.
9. I have high blood pressure. Heart disease,cancer,high blood pressure and cholesterol problems run in my family.
10. I joined Sparkpeople because I worry about my health and I want to be around for a very long time!

Had to share this "Just on Little Pound"
Another member posted this in her blog, I want to make sure it's repeated:

Hello, do you know me?
If you don't, you should.
I'm a pound of fat.
And I'm the HAPPIEST pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.
Want to know why?
It's because no one ever wants to lose me;
I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound!
Everyone wants to lose 3 pounds, 5 pounds, or 15 pounds, but never only 1.
So I just stick around and happily keep you fat.
Then I add to myself, every so slyly,
so that you never seem to notice it.
That is, until I've grown to 10, 20, 30 or
even more pounds in weight.
Yes, it is FUN being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT,
Left to do as I please.
So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying,
"Oh, I only lost one pound." (As if that were
such a terrible thing.)
For you see, if you do this, you encourage others to keep me around because they will think I'm just not worth the effort.

The lady who posted it should be proud of how far one pound can travel LOL.

Don't get me wrong, I do love lobster, but I really like halibut and could eat it anytime. funny thing is, I probably eat lobster more, halibut is so darn expensive around here.
Cheryl, you should mention Annie the crazy, but lovable, dog, she just adds a little something extra to your household don't' you think? LOL..

11. I'm the mother of three, Brittany - 20, Kristen - 17 and Alex - 13. I've been with my husband for 24 years now, since I was 17! Married for 21 though. Just had to tell all that again since they are most important in my life!!

Well, let me think:
1. I have two beautiful daughters.
2. I want to lose 20 lbs before summer. Of course with the weather we have been having, I may have lots of time to do that,lol.
3. I work with the police in domestic violence and crime prevention.
4. My husband is a great guy who loves to create games that our friends seem to really enjoy.
5. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Three live here on the south shore, one brother is in Vancouver.
6. My 87 year old mother is still very healthy and smart. Since my dad passed away 15 years ago, she has managed to stay very active.
7. I am an apple...all my weight is in the middle.
8. Both my parents are Acadian French...which means that I must be too,lol.
9. I have in-laws that I actually like...actually they are wonderful people and I love them dearly.
10. I love scallops and halibut best of all seafood. ...then lobster...and mussels..and shrimp...

Ten things that I have not mentioned in my sparks page. Well Lets see
1. I am in the airline business.
2. I had a home daycare for 3 yrs.
3. I lived in Burnaby BC for all of 7 months.
3. I grew up in Newfoundland and really I hate sea food.
4. I love playing volleyball I still play as often as I can.
5. I have two brothers one is 9yrs younger living in Edmonton and an older brother by 2yrs just moved here from Ontario last month.
6. I rearended a school teacher my first day of school
7. I most always have the clubsandwich every restaurant I go.
8. I have alot of energy don't really slow down too much.
9. I love walking.
10.I hate it when I'm not organized.

10 things eh?

#1 - I want to lose 20lbs, but have a mini goal of 12 by the beginning of July.
#2 - I am getting married in September, hence the goal in July for dress fittings.
#3 - I have one brother, who lives near my parents, who are in the same house I grew up in.
#4 - One of my biggest goals is to be more fit, and think less about the number on the scale and more about the one on the label in my pants!!!!
#5 - I love chocolate, and it shows!!!!
#6 - My fiance is very supportive of my losing weight, but I know he loves me as I am and that is a great feeling!!!! emoticon
#7 - The one thing that sucks about losing weight now is that we are planning on kids soon and I will have to do this all again!!!!
#8 - My fiance's immediate family is in the city too, and I love being a part of their family.
#9 - Sparkpeople and Weight Watchers are the way I am choosing to lose weight.
#10 - Abbi is my only niece so far, but there's another one on the way in July (no word on niece or nephew yet).

Hi there

here goes

1. I've been married for 21 years this month.
2. I used to be very thin, even after having three kids I weighed 30 lbs less than I do now!
3. We had a house fire 10 years ago and had to replace everything but we were all safe!
4. My father died of bowel cancer at 46.
5. Cancer does run in my family, I get checked every 2 years.
6. I have 4 siblings but only grew up with one so she's the only one I'm close to, Carmel lives in NB.
7. My oldest daughter graduated from high school in 2005 and I took her to Newfoundland that Sept. to go to Memorial - it was without a doubt the hardest thing (besides losing my Dad and Grandmother) that I've ever done!!! She is now is Halifax so I find that much easier!
8. I work as a teacher's assistant at the high school level, its my favourite level to work at.
9. I love junk food, sometimes find it hard to avoid but I'm doing better now.
10. I like to read, get together with friends for games, and I love summer!

I think I got a bit more than 10 things in there!!

Well here we go:
1)I would like to lose another 31 lbs. before the summer is over.
2)I am 35, single and looking for love.
3)My mother died at the early age of 54 from brain cancer.
4)I have an older brother and sister.Who both live walking distance away.My father is also still alive.
5)I am a cook in a restaurant . It is seasonal work but I love it. I must love it,this is my 17th year.
6)cancer,heart attack,and diabetes run in my family.
7)I love walking.It is about the only exercise that I do. I do crunches and use and weights every other day also.
8)I am VERY shy and find it hard to talk to people I don't know.(face to face anyway)
9)I love to shop!I use to buy mostly shoes and purses because they always fit. Now I love trying on different styles. I find it so much fun now.
10)I think I'll always live on P.E.I. For no other reason other than it's my home.
I hope this is alright. I had no idea what to put.

hmmm let me think..

1. My goal is to lose 100lbs in 2 years.
2. I joined SP on Dec 31st and have been in love with it ever since.
3. I have a BSc with an advanced major in Neuroscience
4. I work in the public school system.
5. I need to exercise more often and build a routine!
6. My vice is Twizzlers Red Licorice!!
7. I am 24 years old (25 on July 1st)
8. I have my own Sparkteam
9. I suffer from depression from time to time
10. I dream alot and make positivity the most important thing in my life.

So apparently the purpose of a Sparkteam is to increase motivation but since we are still small and starting in the middle of the month, I thought we should start off by getting to know each other a little better. Make sure your 10 things are somehting that we don't already know. I will start..

#1 - I need to lose a minimum of 47 lbs
#2 - My husband needs to lose 30 lbs but is in denial
#3 - I a sister in NL, a sister in ON and a sister in MB, no brothers
#4 - The rest of my family is in NL so no family near me
#5 - my husband's only family is his father and he lives in NL so no family near us from my husband
#6 - I work for a construction firm in Saint John, NB
#7 - My husband in a Chiropractor
#8 - my family has a history of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and high cholesterol
#9 - I LOVE junk of all kind - no exceptions
#10 - I am hoping that SparkPeople will help change my life!
