I am just getting back also, I joined Sparkpeople 4 years ago and quit, I am ready to now get myself back on track, I started dieting the first of January and I have lost15 lbs already. So that is a real accomplishment for me and I want to continue to lose weight. I have been eatting a lot of weight watchers 0 point soup, so this week I changed it up and added hamburger to it and some peas and turnip, stilll a delicious soup but does have more calories. I am proud of myself for losing some weight and I need and want to be slimmer still emoticon

Just having myself back at this, and back at SparkPeople feels like a huge accomplishment for me. I am ready to get myself back on track.
Went for an hour long walk this morning, and it felt great.. I pushed myself another 30 mins - and walked brisk too ..
Also, reducing portions has felt really hard to me these last few days , but yesterday i did far better than i have in a long time..

So those are accomplishments I am feeling proud of today!

I LOVE the food tracker and recently found that you can copy foods or meals to a different date. If you know you ate something a few days ago or even weeks ago you can copy the meal to whatever date you choose. I love that option.

The food tracking from one year ago didn't stick... So now, I am using some suggestions from Spark's Secrets of Success (see the Community Tab), to help me. Two of them have re-ignited the fire to be successful at food tracking:
(1) I tell myself that I will track 5 food items. On most days, I will continue, and it helps me track everything, and be accountable.
(2) Being accountable is important. Instead of saying: "I just feel like" or allowing yourself to suspend reality and say: "it doesn't really matter what or how much I choose to consume." -- DUH, it does matter!

These two suggestions, lifted directly from posts in the Secrets of Success, really did work for me. I have been aiming to track 5 - 8 items daily, and just saying to myself: That's what I need to be accountable" is enough to re-start the process.

More food tracking in SparkPeople than I ever did before. It is a bit frustrating at first - but it gets easier with the more "favorites" in your food choices.

Keeping cool (in thought) on the second night of a house party (a backyard away) that lasted until 2 a.m. The good thing: the participants, on the street, said they were waiting for rides so that they could be driven home -- Good move, after liquid partying.

Riding the bicycle to and from yoga class. I didn't think there would be enough "uumph" in the legs for a yoga practice; but there was plenty to work with. The ride home was especially pleasant.

This is exactly why! When the woman of the house makes educated decisions (aka over the dinner table) the family follows suit. Glad you are indirectly helping your husband and your family.

Today I'm taking hubby shopping for new pants. Although he is not "dieting" with me, as the cook, my healthier meals seemed to have an effect on his waistline!!!!

This isn't a big thing, but I didn't weigh myself today! I normally step on my scale as part of my morning routine. I feel a little uncertain not knowing my weight, but hopefully I'll be more motivated to keep trying when I don't know my weight on a daily basis.

Today, I decided that I am going to shovel off our back deck. I started and got 1/10th of it done in one hour. The snow is hard and heavy, really good work out. It's a BIG deck!!

Good for you gingycat! I am somewhat proud of all the shovelling I did on our deck. However, I don't have much to show for it as the snow is coming down, and lots of it. I know I got a great workout and that the deck is in better condition to take on the continuing snowfall.
