Sounds like a fun weekend, enjoy, I am not sure when they will work on my wrist, at the moment it seems to be working on my neck, but I don't like the tape on my spine, but baby steps

Hi Anjay! I'm glad you're sticking it out in this team, even though I haven't been as active on SP as I would like to be.

After work tonight, My Gal & I are heading to PEI for the Acadian Festival in Abram-Village, near Wellington. It's the only Acadian festival I enjoy in these parts, even though it's a 4-hr drive just to get to the cottage.

How are your muscles doing now? And when will they look at the ligaments in your wrist?

Jo

Hi nice to have you back hope vacation was fun
Hi everyone sorry I have missed a few days I had the muscle imbalance clinic on Monday. I did get answers but not good ones, I also had to endure excruciating pain.. Seemling the ligaments at my neck are not strong enough to support the spine, hence the top of my spine twisted, which in turned trapped a nerve. They had to freeze my neck and shoulder after 4 injections the doctor decided I could not take anymore, I am not a crier but these injections, it was like battery acid running through the needle it was awful. Then the physiotherapist had to manipulate the spine back in place untrapping the nerve. At the moment I have tape holding my spine in place and a bilateral brace. Both are uncomfortable, I go back in 3 weeks to see how things are progressing. I will wear the brace through the day and the tape at night, we are not sure if this is going to have to be permanent time will tell. As for my wrist she did not even look at it, and said they will at a later date. But today the neck pain is minimum, I can turn my head with little pain and my leg worked fine today, this is the best day I have had painwise since early May.

Today is my first day back from vacation, and I've gotten nearly nothing done. No, wait... I sifted through 200+ emails, but haven't done anything other than delete most of them. :-D

Anjay, what do you mean by a strange summer? Since losing my husband nearly 2 years ago, not being myself is an every day occurence, it seems, and it's hard to keep wanting this new "normal" that my life has become. So if you're feeling bummed out, know that you're not the only one, even if the reasons are different, and I'm here if you would like to chat/email.

Sunday was another day on the ocean well only an hour this time, we went out of a harbour not far from us, we paddled to a point and a little island then back to harbour, hubby had a hard time getting back into harbour as it had a strong undercurrent, so a bit scary at times, as the kyak dipped and rolled side to side with the waves, but I listened to Wayne, and just sat still, an soon we were in the harbour, but we will remember that is not an easy harbour to come back into.
Now today I am trying to get back on track but not doing so well, I have had a strange summer, Wayne has noticed I have not quite been myself
Well have a great day everyone.

Spare time... I no longer have a concept of that. :-P

Vacation starts in 5 mins, I have errands to run, then I can relax for all of 10 mintues, before I start packing for a camping trip next weekend.

Eat well and Sweat lots! :-D

Great to hear you are sorting out the well we use the concentrated bleach and use 1 gallon wait 3 days and then use another gallon
hi everyone I had one busy weekend we left Saturday morning went for a ocean kayak at Green Bay, then a walk through Liverpool where we spent the night at Lanes Privateer Inn, it was lovely, then Sunday we drove to Lockeport where we went on a walk then a 2 hour ocean kayak around Black Harbour, also a walk on Crescent Beach then a late lunch before heading home. So today I have been very tired so just relaxing and doing a little house work.

I will be SO happy when I finally get internet hooked up again at home. *sigh* Right now, the only way I can post is from work, and my time is limited to be on SP.

Thanks for the tips on shocking the well. My Gal knew a plumber, and she got those details, and a few more, as well. The only thing we're missing is the depth of the well. Apparently a gallon of javex is good for up to 100'. I still have to call local well drillers to see if anyone has a record of the well's depth, but at least I now know that Environment & Local Government (province of NB) only has records since 1992. My house is nearly 30 years old, so there's no information on their books.

At least I have running water. :-P

Well I have managed to post 2 days in a roll, feel so much calmer today and more focused, my pain is back to its normal 7 and we have fresh plans for the area where the sunroom is/was and plans for the mudroom. It means to take away the sunroom before we have to renew a permit which we don't want to do means a hold on the kitchen sink and counters and a hold on the pantry. So sad we are so close to finishing that area, but do not want to pay money for a permit that we do not need:-{
Anyway wishing you all a great weekend

well ladies nothing embarrassing, I fell down our little slope outside and hit my thumb on a rock
Jo we shock our well by taking the lid off the well and pouring javex down, we use a quart at a time then we leave it for a couple of hours, then flush the toilets and run the water just don't do laundry for a couple of days

Hi gals!

@DraperyLady - Fredericton lost something like over 4000 trees during this storm. Last night around 7:30, I finally got reconnected to the grid. That was the end of Day 10, not to mention the well & pump hadn't been running the previous week either since we had been on vacation. I'm looking up instructions on how to shock the well with javex, because I'm sure stagnant water in the hose isn't good for anyone. I ran the water for about an hour last night, but I couldn't get the hot water tank drained in time. I may have to do that a little later this month, but the shocking needs to happen this week. I can't express how happy I was to take a shower in my own home, once again. :-D

@Anjay - Sorry to hear your fell and broke your thumb. What happened? Don't worry if it's embarrassing, I know most of us have more than our fair share of stories like that.

Now that I have power again, I called Xplornet to come out and reposition the internet satellite dish. It must have twisted around just enough to not see the satellite anymore. We do a bit of troubleshooting tonight when I get home, and I'm pretty sure they have to come back and re-align it. Before we left for PEI, I had unplugged several electronic devices, including the TV, DVD player and all the internet connection equipment. I'll keep you updated as best I can.

Showering at home is so under-rated. I love my home again. :-D

My generator showed up the next day, but after I got it loaded into my truck and headed home, the mosquitoes were so bad that the generator is still in the box, in the back of the truck. However, I plan to return it, not because I don't need it (I'm still without power, and probably will be until mid-next week), but because Costco has a bigger model for $200 more. And it has 2x220V plugs, something I will need in order to hook up my water/well pump along with select appliances & lights. My Uncle the Electrician is visiting in 2 weeks, so I'm hoping to have the larger generator in the yard by then. And because we're not supposed to run it in the garage, I may have to buy some very heavy chain and big spikes to make sure it doesn't sprout legs & walk off.

Other than that, I'm surviving. Last night was the first night I had a good night's sleep during this outage, and I feel a lot better. I could have punched anyone's face or thrown up last night, it was that bad.

So Saint John faired ok? I haven't even been able to look at any of the coverage of the storm & cleanup operations. I heard parts of NS were hit just as hard as us, and that NSPower is really screwing up.

.... and I'm one of the ones without power, still.

Vacation was great, and I'm glad we headed back on Saturday instead of Sunday. I wanted to be home during the storm, so that I knew what was going on, and keep assessing damage as it happened. House, garage and vehicles are intact. We have one large branch from an older yellow birch that is resting on the power line between house & pole. It hasn't snapped anything yet, and I'm hoping power crews get to it before it does any more damage. Our (dirt road) street has downed trees all over it, and one neighbour's had the power box & mast ripped right from the house when the tree fell. At best, I've lost $100 worth of food. Later tonight, I'll go through the rest of the perishables and see what's still edible then toss the rest. I have 2 coolers, one being an "extreme" cooler, and they have ice, but the eggs I put in there Sunday aren't doing so well. They're not expensive, so I'll replace the eggs. The coolers have been helpful, and finding ice in the city has been a challenge, but do-able. About half of Fredericton has power again, but since I live in the boonies, I'm not expecting power before the weekend. My office has showers in the gyms, and we've opened up the doors for those who don't have hot water at home.

I'm not sure about other communities, but Home Depot in Fredericton has a waiting list for generators. I'm #90 as of this morning, and a shipment of about 80 units arrived early today, and another batch is expected to arrive late tonight or tomorrow. I should have one by Thursday, with any luck. I also have an uncle who is an electrician, and he agreed to hook up the generator to the water pump, as well as to a couple plugs in the house. That way, when (not if) we lose power again, I can have a few essentials still working... like running water. You don't realize how good it is till you can't flush the flush. I kick myself now for not buying one at Costco in the spring, when there were still 20 of them left. At least I have the money for a generator, and I can absorb the loss of the food.

We're ok, I'm just getting tired of dodging trees on power lines.

Jo

we have about 6 trees that will need to come down and 2 big boughs from our oak tree which is sad, as is losing 2 of our weeping willows, but safety comes first. Today I am busy catching up on housework, but trying hard to pace myself so I don't overdo it, Wayne is in desperate need for his work clothes so they are in washer as we I type. Its so nice to have a tidy kitchen again. I just give thanks to God that he kept us and our friends safe, there are still so many people without power.

Well, I'm proud to say that My Gal & I have finally FINALLY managed to get all the grass cut for the first time this year. There's one section in the back yard that can only be done with a whipper-snipper, and after a total of 12 hrs on both machines, the first lawn cut is now officially done.

I really need to buy some clean fill and fix those dips & valleys in the back yard. :-P

We're going to PEI, just northwest of Summerside. If you know PEI and the area around Summerside, we're going to be in the Miscouche/Mont Carmel/Wellington/Egmond Bay area, and travelling to other parts of the Island during the day. I just CAN'T wait! :-D

Yes, I have about 3 weeks worth planned. From June 29-July 5, we're going to PEI to visit family & sit on the beach. I love the fact that internet connection is poor there, so being "unplugged" will be the best form of vacation I can imagine. Then the first 2 weeks of August, I'm on vacation as well. The weekend after the long weekend is a camping trip near Masstown NS, but I need the week before to pack and the week after to unpack and deflate. :-)

Anjay, where would you go for a camping trip if you had your way?

Agreed. Life is slowly returning to normal for the family.

Today turned out to be a beautiful day. Bug spray, bug jacket, and a lawn mower that won't start. Not a bad Sunday after all. :-D

When you do you go on vacation?

Today is a sad day in Moncton, as the hunt continues for the shooter who gunned down 5 RCMP officers, killing 3 of them. My family is all in the Moncton area, and to say I'm freaked out by all this news is an understatement. There isn't much I can do in Fredericton, other than to keep in touch with the family during the lockdown.

Hi Jo we too had a great weekend, yesterday was beautiful and my family and I got out and did lots of weeding etc, it is starting to look good out there, we bought almost 2 years ago, this is a difficult task as this property was left to its own devices for around 10 years or so.

We had a fantastic weekend for weather! Other than mosquitoes & blackflies in the yard, RibFest was good & it was good to get out of the house for a bit.

Got 2 hrs worth of yardwork done, I'm off to enter that in my fitness tracker.

Hi AshhyMae,

Welcome to the East Coasters group!

I'm not sure why you're having this problem, unless it's because you're typing the password with the wrong case (upper or lower case letters). Passwords are case sensitive, and that is often the problem. I'm not sure what kind of tablet you have, and you may have to use the mobile version on the tablet if the regular web version causes problems.

Hope to see you around!

Just a general question if I may. I just started today and started on my laptop but I want to use my tablet as well. I downloaded the app but when I try to log in I can't, it says I have the wrong username, password combination. What am I doing wrong? emoticon

Hey gang!

I'm still around, and still working a lot on recovering from grief. Some days are good, like most of the days in this last week, while some are just plain awful. With My Guy passing away, some of the food issues and eating disorder I've developed over the years have gotten worse, so I finally reached out to my psych for help. I already know these issues will be childhood-based, but at least I'm finally starting to work through them.

Spark on!

Jo

Yes, my house guest is finally gone! WOO-HOO!! Friday night after work, he & I transported nearly all his things from the storage locker, leaving a bed, a coffee table and a very heavy TV console for the next day. Saturday morning, he packed up the last of his things except the dog and we made that drop-off and the final pickup from the storage locker. After all that, it was nearly suppertime, and since My Gal had to work that evening, I drove Toddy and Chippy to their new place. It's been a quiet 2 days since they left.

Yesterday, My Gal & I took the day off, and we started to clean up. The bed Toddy used (and that Chippy chewed up) and Toddy's old bed (he has another one) were brought back to the house and we burned them up yesterday. Two things I learned about that:

Beds go up in flames WAY faster than I thought possible! Be sure to check your smoke detectors in the house!

Black smoke. And I mean a LOT of black smoke comes out of burning mattresses & boxsprings. I'm glad the neighbours didn't think my house was on fire. :-P

It was good to help him out, and it's better now that he's on his own once again.

Hey everyone,

I'm so sorry for not checking in sooner. The only excuse I really have is that a project I've been working on at work is about to go live, and it soaks up a lot of my time, especially the time I spent on SP.

Just an update, I'm still not tracking much. There's something in my head that's stopping me from getting going, and if I call a particular psychologist we can find ways to find my mojo again. But I haven't called, which isn't good either.

Is anyone else tired of winter yet? Raise your hand. *raising mine high to the sky* I know Fredericton hasn't had as much as Moncton or Halifax or the entire Rock on Nfld, but geez, I'm just downright sick of it now, and I haven't really tried my snowshoes other than to use the snowrake around the house.

I hope everyone else is doing well, I miss hearing from you.

Hi, Everyone! Happy New Year! Okay, so I'm a few days late but the wishes are sincere. Christmas was quiet this year. That's okay though. The weather was horrendous; I felt trapped in the house much of the time.

Anyway, I am just coming back to Spark. I gained back all the weight I lost before when I found it so hard to move with my bad knees and feet. Baby steps. I'll just get started for the last time, I hope.

Hi Jo emoticon

I will try to do better at getting in here for a few words....
Right there now ...not a good day...my SIL died this morning. ( She was 75 & had lung cancer diag. just 2 months ago )

Other than freezing temps....we are fine.
I went out this afternoon to the shed to get some xmas boxes so I can finish taking down my indoor decorations...
YIKES....almost froze to death! I stopped to fill the squirrel feeders....and by the time I was done it was ALL I could do to get the shed locked up again and get back into the house!

One of our kitchen pipes froze last night.,..weirdly enough it was the hot water one,..cold ran fine as did ALL the other taps in the house!
The old hair dryer did the trick though!! emoticon

I am starting a challenge this coming Monday on Spark....Sure hope this one works out better than the BLC ones I was on ( way too many lamenters and way too many cheaters ) This BTS challenge is being hand picked so hopefully it will be good.
BST~~Beyond The Scale

Promise I will try hard to keep up here with this thread...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Roger, you are dedicated! :-D

The holidays went well, overall. I still missed My Guy, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. My Gal & I have started some new traditions, and she really enjoyed the season this year. That made it easier for me to cope as well.

And now the hard part begins -- getting back to healthy eating and working out again. Although after 5 days straight of shovelling snow last week, I would hope I didn't gain. Unlikely, since I found myself eyeball deep into 3 different boxes of chocolates. Once again, I don't do moderation very well when there's chocolate around. As I sit at work, looking at the salad I made for lunch, all I really want is that big box of Turtles that are half price at the pharmacy. *sigh* I need to remember to look into the Sugar Detox article/challenge that was posted some time ago on Spark, because I might need it.

Stay safe, and stay off the roads if you can. Fredericton is getting mostly blowing snow now, but I'm not looking forward to the drive home.

Jo

Fredericton didn't get it too bad yesterday, but Saint John got hit hard. My Gal & I went to SJ yesterday for some family business, and we drove through the worst of it. It's snowing now, again. I'm just happy I have a snow blower. :-D

Are you all done Christmas shopping yet? I'm down to the last few, and I'm hoping to get all of it tomorrow, since I have the day off.

Well, that was a heck of a storm! At home, we got over 30cm of snow yesterday. It's been a while since I've seen high snowbanks like these early in the season.

How did you make out in the storm?

He's Loki. I bet he made a deal with Lucifer. :-P The movie was good, and the company was great. My Gal really needed the boost, she's been feeling rather blue these last few weeks.

Snow has started in the last half hour, nothing big so far, but tonight should be heavier snow. We also managed to get some lights up on the garage -- we just have to remember not to open the garage door without removing the extension cord first. Got a few more gifts wrapped, and the sooner that's pretty much done, the sooner we can put up the tree. Now I'm just waiting for an order from Toys R Us, and 2 gift cards for Costco, and I can officially say I'm done Christmas Shopping. :-D I really hope I remembered everyone. :-P

Roger, are you planning to keep running outdoors this winter?

It looks like they will come over tomorrow instead of today. It will still be a surprise to My Gal when they show up, because she & I have plans for most of the day. If they can cut it up while we're gone, there's a large area across the street they can start cutting and hauling hardwood over. ;-P

Gift cards are always good. I like to make the suggestions on which stores I like, and I'll try to get people the cards from stores they would like. Costco is a popular one. ;-D

Heading out to the movies shortly, going to see Thor in 3D. I'll try to only have half a small bag of popcorn. ;-)

Well, I finally made it back! It's been very busy at work, and there's a lot going on at home, too. I like to spend time during my workday on Spark, but when there are 3 people at my office door every hour, that's kinda hard. :-P But today being Friday, it's a little slower.

This weekend, I'm hoping a friend will bring a couple of the adult men in her family to cut & split some softwood millends I bought about a month ago. Some of them are too thick to be cut with a chainsaw, and I'm not very good at that yet.

How's the Christmas shopping coming along? Roger, did you manage to finish Wednesday night?

This morning was a GREAT morning! Toys R Us emailed back that the plush Minion is available online, and I ordered it pronto! I'm so excited!!! That's one more cool gift purchased!

Other than that, I did not bad over the weekend, and it had potential to be a complete disaster. I had a chocolate bar and 2oz of chips on both Saturday and Sunday, and after they were gone, I was able to not get more. It's funny how having no junk food in the cupboards will do that. :-D

I'm also working on not stressing over this Christmas holiday season. And the first thing to accomplish that is to NOT watch the sappy Christmas movies! Saturday night I watched one, and even though it wasn't the sad part, I was already in tears because I had seen the movie before (Jack Frost). It didn't help that the main character was a ghost, and the very last scene, when the wife realizes who the snowman actually is, I lost all ability to not cry. So, I'm going to pick & choose which movies I watch, and just hang in there.

Today is the start of the snowy days ahead. I went to town to see if I could find a plush Minion (from Despicable Me), but Walmart didn't have any. I might have to wait until closer to Christmas to get one, since I have one on order.

Finally - FINALLY - put up plastic on 2 windows. Still have another 5 to go. :-P

Drive safe!

I think I'll check in too, since Roger has started a trend. :-P

Today is a MUCH better day than yesterday. I slept much better. I've been having hot flashes a lot all year, and when it gets to the point where I don't get enough sleep, I have emotional meltdowns. I don't deal with them very well, and in the last year, the meltdowns always remind me of My Guy... he was one of the few who could bring me out of the mood and make me feel better.

I'm up 10lbs since last year, and I have to find a better way to get back on track. The low-carb/food-combining plan worked the last time, so I'm going to give it a fair shot again. This time, however, I will pay better attention to saturated & trans fats -- something I didn't care about last time.

Hope you survived Black Friday if you decided to go with the crowds!

Checking in for Friday, gas prices probably went up last night, that's the only negative I can think of so far, rain has stopped and should be a good day, got my lotto max ready, updated spark, now to get walking. Have a good one.

Hi Jo, great to hear from you too. I usually stick with the weight watchers bread, and usually pretty good at keeping close to my tracker goals. Snoopy is doing great, got to post some recent pics of him.

I packed on a few pounds during the summer, camping will do that to you..lol but back into
my routine again. You take care of yourself, and thanks for being my friend.

Hey Roger!! It's great to see you posting again! Sorry I missed you the last couple days, but don't let that stop you from checking in. How have you been? How is Snoopy?

So, trying not to focus on just what to eat, how to eat it, and when my next work out is. I've heard it said that if we take one day to plan the rest of the week, the focus shifts to the here & now, rather than the mess going on in our heads. I already know what my workouts are M-F, but I also have to learn to plan one workout for the weekends. Food would be the same thing -- make a meal plan for the week on Friday evening, for example, get those groceries on Saturday, and prep what you can during the rest of the weekend. I now have a specific protein night every weeknight: Mondays is beef, Tuesdays fish, Wednesdays eggs, Thursdays pork, and Fridays soy protein (fake hamburger). I try not to plan a lot of things for the weekend, but that could be a part of the problem -- there are usually NO plans. And that's the part I have to manage better.

I've also decided to try the lower-carb food-combining eating plan I used in the very beginning, to see if reducing my bread intake will help. The lower-carb part is a lot like the old WW plan -- I couldn't have more than 2 slices of bread per day -- but the food combining part is different for most people. Cpmpetitive weight lifters, and even other athletes, tend to use this eating method while working out, making sure not to mix sugars and fats together. It doesn't mean I can't have any bread or pasta, but I am going to limit myself to a reasonable portion.

I'm struggling a lot these days, and not just with food. My Guy is on my mind a lot lately, and the dreary weather doesn't help. I'm still getting psych help, which is good... but some things just have to be handled by myself.

One day I'll be ok.... it's just not today.

Jo

Oh my gosh, I hear you guys! I'm struggling to find some sort of balance where I can do everything and not be so focused on planning and tracking. It's really hard.

You too? Yeah, I'm seeing myself fall into that trap as well. I'm working on a plan, though, to put food back in its place, and not the forefront of my mind. I'll try to get back on here before the weekend's out and explain it, assuming it works. :-P

Sorry it's been a while. I'm still exercising away, though I've slacked off in the food tracking department. I don't know what I'm going to do about that. I didn't like it that in order to lose weight, what I eat and how I exercise has to become the focus of my life. I have a lot of other things on my mind that are more important...parenting, homeschooling, etc. I don't want to make excuses, though. I am determined to figure out how to do this without it taking over my life.

Yeah, those workouts are tough, but I have to keep my muscles guessing so I burn more calories. The soreness is ok, and it tells me that the weight gain I had last week is related more to the sore muscles than anything else.

And you're doing WATP? AWESOME! I found a few of her videos at Wal-Mart for less than $10, and I LOVE her spirit, her motivating words, and if you listen closely, her Christian values. Her videos are my go-to workouts when I haven't or can't do anything else. She has several 30-min videos, but when you're ready for a little more, try the 3-mile (45 mins) & 4-mile (55 mins) workouts. If you didn't sweat during the 2-mile walks, you certainly will with the others!

Does anyone wear a headband to soak up the sweat on your forehead? Or am I the only one stuck in the 80's with this notion? I wear mine at work, but I have an extra one at home that I use for outdoor chores. I tend to sweat after 15 mins worth of gardening/landscaping (including mowing), so this lets me continue for a full hour without droplets landing in my eyes.

Wow, those sound like some challenging workouts! Whatever the scale says, you are doing something good for your body. :)
I am just doing Pilates and walking (following Leslie Sansone on YouTube) for about 30 minutes/day. It's not much, but it's more than I was doing before, and it seems to be working so far. I need to have energy left at the end of my workouts to get through the day with my three little ones. :)

Well, it's good & bad to hear I'm not the only one who's up. :-S I've been doing new to me workouts, like Tae Bo, kettlebells & Shred Level 3. Just about every muscle is sore, and I'm hoping that's the reason for my gain.

Sorry I haven't been here much, sometimes I wish my cloning machine were fixed. :-P

Sounds like a great hike with the kids, Nelle! Great job losing pounds and an inch! Don't you just love when your clothes start to fit differently and you get to tighten up your belt! I am down a pound today. It felt like it was going to be more this week but I'm not disappointed. Any loss is a triumph in my book!

Hi Ladies...I'm back from a little trip to NB. Saturday I took a 2 1/2 hour hike with the kids. Other than the 30-lb baby on my baby on my back, it wasn't too strenuous. Kids are always stopping for something...a worm in a puddle, a map, a little snack, feeding the ducks. But at least it was 2 1/2 hours of not sitting down. :) Sunday I relaxed.
I didn't take my own food...my family would have been horrified, I suspect. I just did my best with what was served. At least they're not big on sweets, and always have a lot of whole grain bread around (my dad's a baker). I don't know how much over my calorie limit I went, but my total weight loss for the week was about 2 lb, so I was happy. I also lost an inch. A week ago I could only just barely buckle my belt in the last hole, today I used the second hole.
Off to a good start today...exercised for 30 min. and ate a good breakfast and snack. Have a great day!

Thanks Jo for your response on my blog about the protein thing! Greatly appreciated! The vegetarian thing is new for me. It's a lifestyle change I've wanted to make for quite some time now. I had tried about six years ago to go vegetarian but found it too difficult where I was living at the time because the community was small and the little grocery store didn't have the greatest selection of fresh produce, legumes, or really anything else for that matter! Plus I did it on my own without any support or resources to help. So I'm finding it much easier to do this time with so many choices at the supermarkets in Miramichi, a friend who is vegan, and of course all the support and tools I have on SparkPeople.

We will probably get about a dozen kids tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing my nieces and nephew's costumes. I'm not at all concerned that I'll want to eat all the leftover treats. So it's all good!

Hope everyone is having a healthy and happy Halloween!

Kellie, I responded to your blog about the protein thing. I didn't know you were following a vegetarian plan. Is this something new for you, or you've always been a vegetarian?

I finally reached a point in my knee injury that makes doing the Walk Away The Pounds videos difficult to do. Specifically, I can't do hamstring curls -- or at least, not big ones. I tried Shred, kettlebells & yoga, and none of those causes my knee to hurt. My massage therapist reminded me to stretch after each workout, and to take the time to hold each pose at least 30 seconds. Even with that, my knee is still hurting. So today, when I did the WATP, I did kickbacks (hamstring curls) nice & low. My knee still feels it, but nothing like last week and the last month. At least I know what makes it worse now. :-P

Any plans for Halloween? I'm expecting a few kids, and since there are only a few, I always get cans or bottles of pop -- this year, it's cans that were on sale. I also need to put up my pumpkin lights on the porch, so the kids know there are treats at my house. I also haven't decided if I will dress up for Halloween at work tomorrow. This time last year, I wanted nothing to do with Halloween, since My Guy had passed away only a couple weeks before. I haven't decided yet what to do about tomorrow, though I'll make up my mind tonight.

Jo

Good for you Nelle! I'm finding it really hard to motivate myself to exercise and I don't have three kids, so that's really awesome!

I've got a week down of tracking food, following the vegetarian plan. My challenges seem to be eating enough calories and protein, and exercise. I made a goal this week to just do 10 minutes a day. And so far, I've just done 10 minutes a day ... but it's 10 minutes more than I did last week. emoticon
