Those are cute names. I don't have a service dog, and I don't think I would like one. I was nearly bed ridden for over a year, and I've worked so hard at getting my mobility back, that I think that would be a step backwards for me. I'm trying to do everything I can, even on my bad days.

I am wondering if any of you have a service dog? I have a 6 month old mini mini schnauzer that will be trained for me as my service dog. His biggest chore will be to pick things up for me. I drop things a LOT and bending over is very very hard & very very painful.

I chose my bread based on a few things. 1. I know the bred pretty well. 2. It is a strong/muscular bred 3. I wanted a bred that is strong but small enough that when they "jump" back up to give me the item they would not knock me over. He weighs about 15 lbs.

I am also getting another service dog - a Boson Terrier. I chose this bred for the same reasons I shred above. Actually she was just born this past Friday night :) She has been in the plans for about 8 months now but we had to wait for her mommy to get PG then to have her. We will be getting her right around Christmas time.

I knew right away I wanted 2 smaller service dogs. I want them to each have a buddy and I want each of them to be able to have "time off" from being on call for me.

We will be working with a trainer to train them a bit differently since they will have to learn the command of when it is their turn to be on duty. Romeo is the mini Schnauzer and Juliet the Boston - cute names huh? :)

If you don't have a service dog would you like one? If yes what do you think a service dog could d for you to make your life better?
