I am so very grateful for God's grace in giving me the ability and the tools to stay sober for 32 days now. I am grateful for my awesome sponsor and friends. I am grateful for these 24 hours. I am grateful for the 8 years of being cigarette free...and all of the gifts that come with it health wise...especially the gift of easier breathing; decrease in getting bronchitis and pneumonia; less asthma flare ups, getting heart healthier and increase of self esteem....don't smoke smell and don't have to make embarrassing "disappearing acts" and miss out on fun. God has done great things in my life and I am eternally grateful for His help.

Spark People Team Leader, GLITTERGIRL, from Team, "I Can't Do This On My Own", helped me reach my goal in 2012. I was able to maintain my weight for several months, but now I have to get serious again as much of my hard work I let go of, putting my focus on another issue. I will keep on, until I get back to my goal.

You are so right, Cynthia! Without God, it would not have been possible to be sober as we are today. Before I admitted to God my problem, and handed over the reigns to Him, I had to try controlled drinking. Being sober now, it is outright insanity to me, to want to practice controlled drinking. It was not fun. It was a chore, a big chore! I feel so blessed that I tried that a few years before I came to know sobriety, which I never thought was possible.
If we had continued to try getting sober our own way, who knows where we would be today. Are we ever blessed! I'm so very grateful for this precious gift.

I feel grateful for being given an opportunity to reach out and help another person. I may feel down, but for those few moments I was able to get out of my head, out of myself and share love and kindness. It feels great and I pray it blesses her as well.

I am grateful for 309 days of sobriety. With God this would not have been possible.

I am grateful that God, my higher power gives me the strength I need to get through today.

Like you, Lynda, I feel so grateful too, for the blessings we have in Alcoholics Anonymous. Each time I go to a meeting I feel strengthened by our sharing with one another. I feel the gratitude when others share with us. It is a program of many miracles, and each one of us is one of those miracles.

I am grateful that my friend didn't buy wine while we were at the grocery store. Even though I am in recovery he doesn't respect me and tries to get me to join in him in his addiction. Thankful for Hp showing me how to handle the situation. I simply stood up for myself and did it in a gentle non confrontational way.

Cynthia, I sent you an email when I saw your HELP wall post. The beauty of our sobriety is that is a personal one day at a time journey but we are not alone. We support each other.

The worst day of recovery is better than the best day of addiction. I have experienced this many times. I always ask myself if I really want to go back into that life of misery and being out of control. We all face this from time to time. It is quite normal.

Today I am grateful for Step Twelve. I am praying for a new sponsee who will be meeting today to terminate her treatment. I am grateful for the opportunities God provides for me to serve.

WOOHOO!

Tonight I am really struggling. Learning from experience this is when I need to focus on gratitude the most.

Tonight I am grateful for a helpful tool/app on iphone...called Sober Tool. It is a great resourceful tool full of information and help on sobriety, how to stay sober, manage feelings/cope...and all sort of stuff. I have found it very helpful and I am grateful for its existence. My description doesn't give the tool justice.

I am grateful for the 12 steps that help teach me how to live and live life sober. I am grateful for God and the strength he is giving me to strength to stay sober; the wisdom and courage.
I am grateful for his love and his kindness.

I am grateful for feelings that I am uncomfortable with. They teach me that feelings as such are normal and that they too shall pass.

I am grateful for my best friends who are there for me and I am there for them. Grateful for the loving friendships that we share.

For this day I am truly grateful. I am looking forward to planning for Christmas. I love organizing......so much easier to do sober. LOL!

I feel so much gratitude that God has helped me remember my life as a non-recovering alcoholic, and how I tried with my whole heart to believe that alcoholics could be controlled drinkers, if I didn't get up in the morning and want a drink, never getting into trouble because of my drinking and the list goes on and on.
I remember before my sobriety, practicing controlled drinking, and I felt good that I was able to control it. I must say it was not fun living like that. Eventually I had an excuse or two to go back to my every day drinking. It controlled me. I was imprisoned by alcohol.
God has shown me a new life, a new way to live. It is a life I cannot take for granted. We cannot say we never will drink again. Never is a long time. I know today I will not drink. I am indebted to God for this precious gift He has given me.
Thank you God for helping me remember that I am a grateful, recovering alcoholic.

I am grateful for God's loving and forgiving heart. I am grateful that I am still sober and that he protected me in this area despite making a mistake that affects my serenity and self esteem. Grateful that this mistake does not involve drugs and alcohol and I grateful that I have not resorted to these items while feeling upset about my mistake. I can forgive myself. By God's grace I can move forward and not turn to old patterns to cope.

Today I am so grateful for the inner peace I feel. It's been a long time. Yes I have had it around my sobriety, yet not around the turmoil of depression and family issues. I am so thankful God, my Hp has brought me to this place through answered prayer. God is so GOOD!! He has been with me throughout the good, the bad and He is simply awesome!

I am grateful for sobriety and the gifts it brings. I am grateful for my family. I am grateful Thanksgiving was extra special this year. I am grateful that it's Christmas time. I am grateful that my depression is lifting a little more each day. Oh so much to be grateful for!!

Today I am grateful for the fellowship that AA affords me. I have been a loner all my life in the sense that I have few friends....but the ones I have are really good friends. Now...I must say through SparkPeople and AA my friendship circle is expanding and this is enriching my life. For this I am so very grateful. My home group meets on Thursdays. The group is meeting on Thanksgiving.....alcoholism does not take a holiday. The majority of us have dinners to prepare but there are some members without family and a holiday event. This makes me sad. I just want to reach out more to others. With the help of my Higher Power I will be able to do so because He opens the doors to these chances to help others.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I'm thankful that I remember just how much alcohol controlled and consumed my life. I guess you could say my whole self. I do not want to go back to that dark place.

It is a good feeling when I get together every Wednesday with my home group, a group of recovering Ladies. I never want to forget how it was, and I always hope to be recovering. May I always feel grateful to have this "Gift of Sobriety". Thanks be to my Higher Power whom I choose to call God, who by His Grace I am sober today.

During my morning mediation and prayer time, I realized something very important......ATTITUDE. Do I truly have an Attitude of Gratitude? It's time for me to realize that my ATTITUDE toward the life I'm living and the people in it can have a tangible,. measurable and profound effect on what happens to me day by day. If I expect good, then surely good will come to me. If I try to each day to base my attitude and point of view on a spiritual foundation, I know it will change all the circumstances of my life for the better. Through daily communion with God my spirituality will be maintained.

During this month of November which celebrates THANKSGIVING may you and I remember to have an Attitude of Gratitude.......and may we continue to have it 365 days a year!

I am so thankful you are my emoticon emoticon

I am so grateful for the many opportunities to serve my Higher Power sends my way. Yesterday was very special because I had coffee with an AA friend who is dealing with an alcoholic husband that is dying.....I told her that she is living my future. Just after we finished our coffee and conversation, she was notified that he was placed in Hospice. Aided by our Higher Power, we are certainly a support system for each other. For this I am grateful.

I am so grateful too, that I am able to do things that at one time I would have never felt I could do it, and I would have never dreamed I was capable of doing it. I became a Lector in our Church shortly after I began my sober life, and not too long after that I became an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. I never would have dreamed or thought I could read God's Holy Word in front of a small, medium to a large group of people, but I can. I feel so Blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life.
Sobriety has so many blessings!

Oh my stars.....I am grateful for the courage my Higher Power gives me to do things I am somewhat afraid of....would you believe a simple update of my computer. I changed to a Mac Mini almost two years ago...i avoided the first update because the system was new. Ironically, I always update our iPhones. Anyway....this a BIG step for me. In my meditations yesterday i read that worrying about something that hasn't happened is such a waste of time.....so....I stop worrying and just did it.....a la Nike. LOL!

Grateful to a recovering alcoholic and a member of this loving and supportive team! emoticon

emoticon I am grateful for our veterans. So many died or were severely injured in battle. May God bless them and their families. I am grateful that my dad, sister and brother all served. I am grateful for the freedoms I have that so many countries only dream of. I feel we are blessed.

I am also grateful to be going to my sister's house today. We are able to have great fun without drinking. So grateful for her friendship. So grateful that none of my friends drink and there is no peer pressure. I am grateful that God my Hp has blessed me in such a way. Grateful to be in recovery and able to learn something new most days.

I am celebrating the joy of giving and service. I have been working on assessment collection for our water association this morning. Yesterday I helped with the billing. I find this work so satisfying and I love giving back to our little community. And my Higher Power has added a new friend and hiking partner as well with this opportunity. For the abundant opportunities my God provides me, I am so very grateful!

No longer have to make u excuses as to why I can not go. I am thankful that even though I fear driving at times; it has nothing to do with be too drunk to drive. Oh my am I grateful for that. Just one more joy that I have been experiencing these past several months.

I am grateful today for SparkFriends and SparkPeople who support me through my recovery as I work the Twelve Steps, practice the Serenity Prayer, and with my AA participation and the help of my Higher Power.....life is glorious. I am a grateful recovering alcoholic.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I am grateful for a new day. Yesterday was very tough emotionally. I am ever so grateful for Hp's protection over me and again my sister and support system. I am grateful that today I will be seeing my Dr. and that there is hope that God will give him the wisdom as to what our next move to be. I am grateful that throughout this very rough time I have not had any craving to drink. Miracles are happening. I am grateful for this rainy day. I don't usually like the rain, but I saw a picture that stated without rain there would be no rainbows. Now that's the perspective need to see and take. It blessed me. Grateful for one day of sobriety.

I am grateful to be an alcoholic. I have become a better person through working the Twelve Steps and being a member of AA. I am less self-centered and more in tune to the world around me. Hopefully, I am helping others . I ask my Higher Power daily for guidance. I am truly a grateful recovering alcoholic.

I'm grateful for my faith in my Higher Power whom I choose to call God. I know and feel God's support in my sobriety. I know He had me go through a series of events to bring me to realize that I'm an Alcoholic. I will always be an Alcoholic. I hope to always live a sober life, and I hope I always will be grateful for blessings of sobriety. I truly am grateful this day.

I am so grateful to read down and be reminded of our sweet life changing serenity prayer. Too often I haven't put it into practice. So grateful that Hp listens to prayer and gives us the gift of wisdom and serenity.

I am grateful for recovery and the gift of sobriety. I am grateful for God's love and grace to get through each day.

I am grateful for another new day...a day to improve myself and work on my recovery. A day to count my blessings. A day for a chance to thrive.
