Oh yes, cherry juice for gout,
WASA krisp bread looks like big cracker and almond butter on it is good.
Walmart has real dark and bitter chocolate which is good for the heart and SPARK says it prolongs life :)
I fix oatmeal with f/f milk, about a teaspoon of almond butter and a little bit of the dark chocolate. I add sweetner to it.

I don't eat this all at once emoticon

Right now I have to say my the Oat Bran, Walnut, Blueberry, Flax Seed, and even Banana muffins I just had for breakfast fit the bill. Two mini muffins plus a cup serving of watermelon and 6 Black cherries really filled me up with fiber and wholegrain goodness. Only about 200 calories.

Our local Central Market has wonderful salads, soups, sandwiches, etc., for a quick lunch. Plus, the walk from my apartment to the store makes for good exercise. emoticon Wiser

Pat maybe the oat bran is healthier. I imagine it has more bran in it.

The almond butter: I used a little bit on a WASA krispy flatbread. It is not as oily as the peanut butter and is healthier and I liked it allright but won't say I liked it better than peanut butter. I am going to try to get used to it as I know it much healthier.

I am going to a buffet later where I will eat good and bad for me.
I love their steamed or grilled fish and their steamed veggies. I also like their lasagna :)
Also their chocolate cake is divine with a little bit of sugar free peanut butter cup ice cream. Yummy.
I am still below goal. My goal is 152 and I weighed 147 this morning.
I don't bake so what I eat in baked goods I eat out as I don't bring it home. I would eat too much. Some things I don't keep because of temptation.

We have Almond Butter on hand here as DD is allergic to peanuts. I will have to give it a try. Did you like it?

Yesterday I ended up baking Oat Bran, Flax Seed muffins instead and they turned out perfect. I didn't have the Oat Bran so substituted Quick Cooking Oats instead. By the time I gave some to the neighbors and our family had some for Two meals, there were only 3 left this morning.

So today I baked the same recipe but followed the recipe exactly As I had picked up the missing Oat Bran shopping yesterday PM.

Well, guess what! The ones where I used the Quick Cooking oatmeal are much better. So guess I will stick to the cheaper version from now on:)

The other day I bought Almond butter at a Health food store. It is more expensive than peanut butter but better for you. They had one jar for $11.00 the one I bought was quite a lot less.

Pat I know of a place here that has fish tacos but they are breaded and fried. One good thing the tortilla is not fried and is better than an ordinary flour tortilla.
They also have grilled shrimp tacos which I buy if I have a hankering for tacos there.

Just had Fish Taco's for first time ever. Actually one and a half. As DD and I shared a plate. She had had them before and highly recommended them. They really were good.

After that we visited a Botanical Garden. Very beautiful. DD had both DH and I use wheel chairs that were provided as there was lots of ground to cover . Worked out fine. But my steps are only up to 7200 so far as a result of them spoiling me.

Your lunch sounds really good and healthy too, Irene.

We couldn't go to a place that has peanuts because our DD has a serious reaction to them.
She has to carry an Eppi Pen in her purse.

I can't remember the last time we had a pork chop. Probably in Texas because our son-in-law loves pork. Normally we have chicken breast or salmon. For protein. In Texas we can actually eat peanut butter:)

My lunch was a lunch portion of salmon, a skewer of grilled veggies and 1/2 of a sweet potato and 5 peanuts. Went to a place where they have buckets of peanuts and I count out five which of course has 10 altogether.

Pat sounds good except for the sauerkraut. Mom used to can it and I liked it right out of the jar but only that way.

Pork Chops and Saurkraut in the Slow Cooker tonight. Yum.

I browned 3 pork chops on the stove this morning-(one for each of us)
Peeled and slices 2 sweet potatoes, and layed in bottom of Slow Cooker
Added a layer of 2 sliced red onions
and then a layer of 2 sliced apples
Added a little nutmeg and salt and pepper
Then the browned Pork Chops
and topped with 16 ounces of drained Saurkraut.
Put the lid on the slow cooker and set at L. for 5 hours.

It really was delicious . Filled the house with the smell of Saurkraut which always makes my mouth water anyway :)

For Saurkraut lovers- this is for you!

My food find today- Had another low calorie omelet at I-Hop for breakfast after fasting and blood work this AM.
The Simple And Fit Veggie Omelet order claims to be 320 calories. I don't know if they calculate in the small fruit side dish or not. I also added Salsa for more veggies and flavor.

All very healthy anyway!

Those Peaches that I purchased from Farmer's Market were perfectly ripened today . I had placed them in a brown paper bag to finish ripening. I used the 5 that were left( someone had gotten in to them ! Wonder who that was? :) ) to bake a beautiful peach pie. I just had to reduce the sugar, cornstarch and spices to half with so few peaches and baked the pie anyway. Looks great.

Pat, your supper sounds wonderful, and healthy. We both had doctor appts, so we had late lunch at Dennys, I had their healthy omelet, egg whites, mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes with shredded L/F cheese, fruit. Couldn't eat it all so had the rest for my supper, fixed Brooks something else.
We got a little rain today, not much. Hope everyone has a good evening. I am tired onight, and going to watch some TV with Brooks.

Pat I don't have a grill nor a husband to grill for me if I did.
The first time I ate corn in the husk was in Mexico. They took me out to the corn field where they built a bon fire and cooked the corn like you said but in the bon fire.
They were delighted I liked it so well.

Yes! For dinner tonight we prepared corn on the cob on the grill! this may n ot be new to you but we only recently learned this technique from our Gormet cook grandson last Sunday evening.
You remove the outer husks but leave the inner silky ones. this keeps the corn moist while grilling. delicious and it needs no butter or salt when served.

We had this for dinner this evening along with grilled MorningStar Veggie Burgers and fresh sliced cucumbers and sliced red onions in vinegar marinade.

Hope you give it a try if you haven't already.

Thank you Diane for the Butternut Squash idea. I will try it next time for sure. and let you know when I do. the dried cranberries sound great too.

I may also try it with Kale because I have that already in my garden.

Pat, if you like butternut squash, you may like the way I prepare it. I bake diced butternut squash and before I serve it, I toss it with baby spinach. The heat from the baked squash wilts the spinach just enough. And as a treat, I sometimes toss in dried cranberries. It is a very pretty as well as very healthy dish.

Pat, your dinner sounds delicious. I am shutting down and headed to bed. I stayed within my 1200 calories today. \o/

Tomorrow will be doctor appt day for both DH and myself. Have a good night's rest everyone. Let's us all get up bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning.

What a great idea, Irene. I will also try to find your flat bread too. Healthy and low calorie too.

I will keep my eyes open for contributions too.

Tonight we did have a very healthy dinner of baked salmon fillets, baked butternut squash and green beans .

Marsha it is called flat out and wow It doesn't look too small. I bought it at Walgreens. Hadn't seen it before. They might have it at Walmarts also.

Today I found 100% Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flatbread.
You can use it for wraps or pizzas.
It has 90 calories and is large, has 9 g of fiber (36% of daily requirement) 2.5 g of fat, 6 net carbs and 0 g. sugar. I think I am in love already.
