WE ENJOYED OUR FIRST "THANKSGIVING DINNER" TEXAS STYE IN SAN ANTONIO AT THE "TIP TOP CAFE", ESPECIALLY FUN AS WE HAD THE COMPANY OF 2 GROWN COLLEGE STUDENT GRAND CHILDREN AND THEIR ROOM MATES PLUS ANOTHER OUT OF COLLEGE AND WORKING-GRANDDAUGHTER.
THEN VISITED A FRIEND AND INLAW AT A LOVLEY NURSING FACILITY IN WIMBERLY.
SHE KNEW US AND SEEMED HAPPY TO SEE US.
NOW WE ARE IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC NEAR AUSTIN MAKING OUR WAY HOME . STOPPING AT A MCDONALDS.

WOW, MARSHA, AND I THOUGHT I WAS BUSY!
AND WHAT A SMART LITTLE GR. GR. SON YOU HAVE. !

WE ARE TRYING TO FINISH UP FINAL PLANS BEFORE HEADING TO TEXAS NEXT WEEK HOPEFULLY. LOTS OF THINGS ACCOMPLISHED TODAY AND SEVERAL APPOINTMENTS TO MEET THE COMING WEEK.

Good evening to all. Hope everyone had a great day, and have a wonderful weekend. I was busy today, Geo. Jr. came this morning and mowed and edged, put in some light bulbs in the kitchen ceiling light that burned out this week, and a few other odd jobs. He left and then my Grandson, and Great Grandson came to visit. Andrew is almost 5 and smart as a whip. :) He can do the whole alphabet in sign language. I was so surprised. They left, and then the pool man came to do the pool.

Ginger and I had supper, and then we went out for awhile. Nice after the sun goes down.

Going to hit the sack early tonight. Kinda tired.

I hope you can get to your farmers market soon too!

I have washed my own hair since the shingle arrived but should be able to go back before we leave for Texas. I do want one more haircut- DH too.

Pat, that sounds great. I don't now what I am going to fix for supper. I think it might be a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich.

Went to church this morning, then coffee hour. Came home and watched the game. BUCS lost

I cleaned the shelves in my kitchen window (glass), and all my red glassware. Glad that is done.

I love pancakes, now I fancy making some
My husband is going for a colonoscopy soon and got the strangest diet to follow for a week, it's totally opposite to how I like is to eat. No fruit ,veg, dairy ,salads seeds nuts , dairy and much more, I am still working out what he can eat , How would vegans and veggies cope on it!? Keep well Ree

Pat, the pancakes sound good, and I love when I have something left over for another meal. Hope your shingles are not hurting you. It has rained here all day. I go in the morning at 11 to get hair done and supposed to rain through Wed. I am so sick of rain, I don't remember it raining so much so long.

Irene, your chicken sounds delicious. I sometimes buy the Publix rotisserie lemon and pepper chicken in the deli. It makes me several meals. I like to make Cola chicken in the slow cooker. You put in your chicken legs, thighs and breasts, or all of one, half can of mushroom soup, fill the soup can with diet cola, or reg. cola, stire and pour over the chicken and cook all day. It is really tender, and gravy is good over rice, or mashed potatoes. Late DH loved this with a nice salad, or veggies.

I did read on sparks not to cook rice in a crockpot as it forms one sticky mess ,so I changed my mind on doing rice. Yesterday I made a coating of a little oil, zest and juice of a lemon with chopped fresh mint. I know some of you are not meat eaters but this coating on a fresh chicken before cooking was just so tasty , I do not eat red meat but do enjoy fish and chicken,so always looking for new ways to make it a bit different. I think it would work in fish too . Must try that . Have a good weekend. Ree

Pat, I have never had a rice cooker. Yes, I love the crockpot, or slow cooker. I used it a lot when I was working. Nice to come home to a meal already cooked.

Been a busy day, Geo. Jr. was here, he mowed, the Home Depot man came to look at the roof, and Geo. handled him. :) He is having a roofer come out. I am praying that we don't get any heavy rain right now.

I am tired tonight, been a busy day. I got several little jobs done. Tomorrow I have to go out for a bit, then will come home and finish up some cleaning.

Irene UK, I love my crock pot also. That is what I made a big pot of split pea soup in yesterday. My Granddaughter bought me a new one last year for Christmas, it is the large size so when I cook something I have to make a big batch. She always knows I have small containers of something in the freezer when she comes and is hungry. I think there was a method to her madness. LOL

It's cooler weather here now, which I like. It's crock pot cooking weather. Thinking today if making something with rice, tomatoes, mushrooms and what ever I have handy. Experimental cooking often works well!
Today and tomorrow are hospital days for my husband so it's good to leave a meal slow cooking and have it ready when needed.
