Roberta, thanks for checking in and letting us know what is going on in your corner of the world. Post when you can. During the summer months seems like people are all busy doing other things. I just came in from outdoors with Ginger. I had to put water in the pool, and she likes when I take her out. I guess the 4 walls come in on animals also. :)

Sorry that I have not been posting as much lately--just a lot going on. Lots of TO-DOs in this new health plan, computer challenges and broken new accessories, website changes--not difficult but they just take up a lot of time. Now that my energy is recovering, I am tackling household duties and seeing progress.

Love to all. Roberta

Good evening to all. Mani so sorry you are in so much pain. My back has been bothering me also. I did go and get hair done this morning, the to Dollar Tree for a few things.
I will be watching Extreme Weight loss tonight. I like that show, kinda gets me motivated.
Tomorrow I go for a treatment in the afternoon, and Thurs. I go to my Primary Care Physician for my blood test results from last week. Hope they arn't too bed. Fri Geo. Jr will be here to mow and edge. It has really been hot out, can't take the heat like I used to.

Pat, so sorry that DH hasn't passed that stone yet, do they know if it is just one, or several?
Hope everyone has a good night's rest. I can hardly keep my eyes open so not sure how much of the program I can stay awake for. It is a 2 hour show.

Was so good to hear from Irene and looking forward for her to dictate another posting to her helper.

I will post that Peach Cobbler recipe Pat when I can keep my eyes open. I bought things to make another one for Sunday. Have to check and see if we have a Recipe chat on here.

Hugs and prayers to all.

Marsha

Oh Mani, I am so sorry you are suffering back pain so severely! Perhaps you should have a Dr. take a look at you and possibly prescribe some relief! Yes, stay away from that chiropractor for sure.
We took DH to the family doctor today and she said all is going well with him other than the stone we are all hoping to be resolved before the 31st-for sure! She did reassure us that the urologist would know exactly the proper anesthesia for a man his age and were experts at their job.
I did no cooking -just reheating leftovers for dinner. I will try to make something vegetarian and healthy tomorrow for sure.
DH and Poochie are going off to bed now so I will do the same.
Hope you all sleep well.
Hugs, Pat

Good morning....

Haven't posted on this thread for a couple of days, my apologies..... actually have been nursing a nasty back so unable to sit up for too long to post on all teams. For sitting for an hour, i walk at least 20 to 30 steps, stretch and lie on my back for half an hour to rest it.... so my life is more or less between my recliner & bed most of the time.

Went in to see the Chiropractor yesterday....but turned out to be a disaster with the young man being rude & in your face....will not go back to him ever.

Marsha your Sunday potluck sounded delicious....for sure you must have built yourself a great reputation of being a master chef...

Pat all those fresh fruits sound yum....praying your DH's stone is out soon with as less pain as possible.

Roberta good to see you post & goodness gracious you've done so much....more strength to you.

Did you ladies read Irene's blog.... praying for her speedy recovery....

Ree hope all is well with you & M...

Have a blessed new week all....

Hugs & Prayers
Mani

Hi friends!
Marsha--I knew your church- farewell- potluck would be great and it was.! That is so nice of you to make something special for the guy that does all the cleanup work around the church. He deserves it for sure! You will miss your old pastor but your new lady pastor will do just fine. Our pastor in Texas is a lady and we love her. Send me the recipe for your peach cobbler.DH will like that! Your Georgia peaches must be coming in already. I will have to see if we have any arriving here as well.We are getting fresh blueberries now from our very local farm right now. and our church lady pies-today we got cherry-(no doubt from upper Michigan) are a hit now too
.
We picked up both on our way home from DH dr. checkup today.Delicious He passed everything with Dr.( except the kidney stone)!

Roberta and Marsha--Glad you; liked the single cookie recipe. Let me know when you make it.

Like I said on the announcement blurb- I am back to trying to build my strength by purposely walking again. I chalked up 3 1/2 miles by 10:00 AM. It is amazing what one can do-10 minutes at a time:) I reached over 5600 steps so far today so my goal tomorrow will be 6000. Remember I was sedentary all spring with illness, etc. It will take a while.

No cooking for me around here today. We are using up leftovers. Still following Drs. McDougell and Fuhrman vegetarian diets.. Another plus for us -besides the health aspect- is we are saving tons of money by not buying meat.:)

Our yard and flowers are gorgeous again this year. Have to get out and "smell the roses'
daily.

Hugs, Pat

Thanks Pat I will print out and try it sometime. Hope everyone has had a great day so far.
Made it through the farewell luncheon for our Pastor. He had a very good Serman this morning, a lot of food for thought.

We have a great Pastor next Sunday. It is a Women Pastor.

My baked beans were a hit, and also the Peach cobbler I baked was all gone. This one man came up to me and asked if I made it, and I said yes, he said well if you want any you better get over there as it is about gone. He said that Peach cobbler was his favorite. I am going to make him one for just him. He does so much around the church, collects no pay and volunteers his time. He is retired and if it weren't for him we wouldn't get anything done.

Hope everyone has a good evening. Don't know what is on TV tonight.

Hugs and prayers to all.
Hope Irene is doing good on her rehab.

Hi everyone
I am sure Marsha had a nice going away dinner for her pastor. My DH would have liked those baked beans too!

I just found a Get well Card and have it ready to send to Irene tomorrow.

I am thinking of LOIS as well. We hope she is on the mend!

We all hope Mani and her DH will manage just fine while their care takers are gone on emergency leave. I am sure her family will step in if needed.

Hey Roberta, just remember to chalk up your Mt. Laundry to exercise and it will be more satisfying:) you are to be congratulated on setting up your I-Pad all yourself.

I am thinking of REE as well. She might like the recipe I am about to post.

I hope Peggy's sciatic pain is under control!

Yes, FAY, the kidney stone DH has is a wake up call to drink more water, that is for sure!!!

A friend brought us a nice Kohlrabi, and for our lunch today, DD made a nice pan cooked dish with half of it combining summer squash and zuchinni with it too. It was good.

If you are like me, if there are cookies in the house , We end up eating more than one.
So when I found a recipe by Spark member, TEMPESTE, for making just ONE cookie at a time I tried it today( I multiplied it by 3 so each of us here could have one) and it was a hit:)

Here is the recipe for single serving---
Just mix 2 tbsp of flour ( I used 1/2 WW)
And 1 tbsp of brown sugar ( white sugar would work too)
And 1 /4 TSP of baking powder together.

Then add 2 TSP butter and cream it in.
Then Mix in 1/2 tbsp. of milk.

I placed on cookie sheet using parchment paper but you could just spray with Pam.
I topped each cookie with 3 or 4 chocolate chips but you could just sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar( Snicker doodle style) or add nuts to it.

Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees . For 10 minutes or TIL golden.

Please let me know if any of you try it. It sounded like a great way to help control our sweet tooth:)

I had to make an early run to Radio Shack this morning to get an internet modem as the old Comcast Cable one gave up last evening. After a call to Comcast to activate it, I had to make a call to an Apple tech to tell me which port on the router to use for each cable--I had forgotten to note which one was already in place when I had to disconnect everything. All is well now, the area is tidied up and everything is working better than before. (Geeze! How I MISSED access to my email this morning!)

Lots of TO-DOs next week. Gotta get going on exercising regularly again! Plus climbing Mt. Laundry and other living demands. BUT my energy is increasing and I am grateful for that.
Here's to a great and successful week ahead to all of us. emoticon Roberta

Yes, Pat I am going to miss him. We can only afford to hire a part-time Pastor (18 hours a week), he comes very far so I don't want to be selfish and think of how much I am going to miss him, but I can't help it. He is like family to us.

Geo. and Karen are coming to go with me to church tomorrow, and the luncheon for him. They hate to see him leave also.

I pray your DH will pass that stone soon, but it will be painful. More so for a man. Ouchie!!
Glad your daughter is spoiling you, and I just polished my nails a little while ago. Got clothes laid out for church. I will have to go earlier to help set up the hall. Have a note on the table to remind me to take the baked beans and no sugar added Breyer's ice cream. Two more ladies are bringing ice cream also. Geo. is diabetic so I got the no sugar added so he could enjoy with cake, or dessert if they have something he can eat. He will fill up on ham, potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, etc. :)

Hope everyone has a great evening. I have tried several times to post on the wall, and I hit enter and loss everything so I came here to post.

Hugs and prayers to all.

Hi REE, yes the calm after the storm is always a relief isn't it! We had a thunder and lots of lightening earlier this week. In the night. Must have sent it on over to you. :)
DD used to have a SCHNAUZER dog that was terrified of storms and would jump in bed with us shaking and trembling. Our POOCHIE and Precious could care less! :)

Marsha, you really will miss your Pastor!! . But hopefully you will enjoy the new one that replaces him too. You certainly do your part for the church activities. Keep up the good work.

Yes, thank you Irene for your address. I will try to get a card off to you soon. Computer posting is fun but old fashioned cards are even better.!

Thanks to Mani for the well wishes for DH. We are still waiting. Pray the stone passes before he has to have surgery. No luck so far.

And thanks to you too, FAY! DH has been spared the pain for 4 days now but we still wish it would pass soon!!
Hugs, Pat

Good night to all. Been a busy day, I had a Ladies Circle meeting this morning, then run some errands. I came home and ate lunch, then washing, and drying clothes. Odds and ends.
I am tired tonight, have to go for blood work at 10:00 in the morning, then I have to stop and get a few things at Publix. I have to take Baked Beans Sunday for the going away luncheon for our Pastor. Geo. Jr. and Karen will be here to go to church with me and the luncheon. He is the one that married them, and had Brooks' Celebration of Life service. We hate to see him go.

Hope everyone has a good night's rest. Hugs and prayers to all.

Wish we would hear something about our Irene and how she is doing in rehab.

Hello to Marsha, REE, Peggy , FAY and Mani!
What a wonderful post, dear Mani! We all enjoy so much hearing from you.send
Just a quick check in here.
Our DGD and her DH flew back to ALASKA today. They both love their time there.. They are exploring the surroundings around FAIRBANKS while he serves in the military and she works at local hospital .
A second DD came today and had lunch with us . She made up a wonderful veggie Lasagna and I served my colorful DR. McDougell coleslaw with it.
DH is feeling better every day. He actually ventured out to pick some raspberries from his garden today!
Even POOCHIE is feeling better:)
I walked him so many times today I had 7 lights lite up on my Spark tracker.:) Yay!
WellI better sign off now. Time to put us all to bed .
Hugs, Pat

Good Morning on a Monday.... almost 7 am but won't be going for a walk as my back has been giving me a lot of trouble since yesterday. Struggled to sit through church service and had to have an extra cushion to prop me up for the 2nd part of the service. Then got a little wet in the rain as I hobbled to the car after the service... can feel the beginnings of a cold...

Have been busy as DD Sara is here to spend time with us till her dental work is complete.... She has 4 more teeth to be extracted and then will have to go for her complete denture fittings. The poor dear is just so embarrassed by having to stay without dentures that she is comfortable with us.

On Saturday our DGSIL celebrated his 50th birthday, but all of us seniors, didn't join the party as they had a huge party for all friends their age, which began at 9:00 (my bed time).... then last night the party continued at home courtesy the Soccer finals which was live from midnight our time.... but PTL once our hearing aids are our we don't really hear too much of the noise, so the Lord has his ways in protecting us seniors and also allowing the youngsters their space.

Our DGS, Nathan and his family left for a 3 week long vacation to Europe....Nathan has been telling his grandpa every day that he will be away for 3 weeks, but it hasn't registered with him, so last night again when he came to say bye to us, he was asked, where are you going? who is going with you.... and stuff....just hope DH doesn't get too agitated if he doesn't see Nathan for a while.

Hope Irene is feeling better and will be well enough to post soon.....

Pat good to hear DH is on the mend.... sorry you missed attending your DGD's anniversary, but that was a sensible decision keeping in mind DH's condition. You are blessed with a loving family... tell me about having a supportive clan....makes this journey worthwhile. Hope your pet feels better soon...

Fay, great to see you post with us again....

Roberta how is the Mayo clinic plan coming along.

Ree... that's a great idea for me to do with DH just to keep his memory alert, especially remind him of people who are expected to visit us.

Have a great week....

Hugs & Prayers
Mani

Hi friends, another busy day. Will try to catch up on what has been going on with you all!
I am going back and reading your posts, Mani, Irene, REE, FAY, Roberta !
I am not the only one who has had things pile up on me in one way or another.

When we have faith and think positive thoughts asMarsha says, All will be well that ends well!
I am not the only one with a husband having his share of problems either. I know posting our challenges is one positive way of getting through them too.

Today we took DH to be checked out for swollen feet. He was prescribed a medication to alleviate that. A DSIL came and elevated his easy chair so he can get in and out of it more easily. We appreciate the help from our wonderful children !!

. We missed a family event today as our DGD renewed her vows with family and friends. But we were able to view the ceremony by video. Very sweet. She and her service man DH will fly back to ALASKA where they were married last year -soon.

We have a weekend house guest again as another DD is visiting her dad. She also got to attend the renewed vows wedding today and took lots of pictures for us.

Our 15 year old SHIH TZU is suffering from what the vet calls Sundown Syndrome and is on strong MEDS . Still kept me up frequently last night. This time hehad thrown up the MEDS so were not taking care of his night time agitations. Poor baby!

We appreciate hearing what is going on in your lives as well.

Hugs, Pat

Hello on Friday, it's a bit of sick parade now with our friends and husbands with problems , I am ok! I agree with Mani we have to see the funny side at times. My husband is very forgetful , he will start to tell me something then forgets a word so we play. 20 questions. This is how it went

Is it a person? Yes Male or female?male . Do I know them? Yes .Family? Yes . Well that narrows it down but there's still a lot of us.
I got it to a grand son, and eventfully guessed the right one. He's exhausted by then and forgotten what he was going to say now about that person. But we can still laugh about it.
Have a good weekend . Ree

Your poor husbands!!

Mani, how sweet the way your DH followed his doctor's instructions!! Rather that then refusing follow-up.

Pat, I hear that kidney stones are the worst pain there is. Certainly not on my bucket list. Hopefully all the water we are encouraged to drink will avoid them.

Yet Irene, Such a trooper! Yet always encouraging and cheering her friends including our team.

I'll be praying that Irene's back pain can be alleviated in some way without surgery. I went to physical therapy and learned some techniques to relieve my sciatic pain.

Just want to let everyone know that they didn't do surgery on Irene as the doctor said her bones are too brittle. This is what was posted on another group. So don't know anything else, she is still in hospital, and as soon as I know something else I will let you all know.

Pat so sorry about DH passing the kidney stones, that is so painful, especially for a man.
You both are in my prayers.

Mani, sometimes we have to look at the positive side of things to get us through. We can think negative, or we can think positive and I always try to remember to think positive.
I enjoy your posts so much. Keep them coming.

Got to get dressed, running behind this morning.

Marsha, any news of Irene's surgery, have been praying for her....

Pat good to see you back.... hope your feeling better and the cough gone....

Fay lovely to see you posting again

Ree that is good news regarding M....

Well today DH went in for his monthly eye-shot for the glaucoma and insisted that I go with him... well we went and got it done, the doctor had advised him to wear shades when stepping out and avoid bright light for the next 4 to 6 hours.... so once we got home and finished lunch and both of us settled for our afternoon nap, he refused to remove the glasses, he wanted to follow the doc's instructions to the T.... and then after his nurse and then our DGS Nathan cajoled him by assuring him that all the blinds were drawn and the room was dark so it won't hurt the eye..... such is my Dear's plight... funny yet poignant.....but I choose to see only the humour in this....

Hugs & Prayers

Oh I am so sorry to hear of Irene's troubles. My prayers are for her speedy recovery!

DH is in the process of passing kidney stones and not feeling well yet. 2 trips to ER. Did pass one stone at hospital but still has more to go. He is on strong MEDS for pain . I feel so bad for him.

DD is wonderful caregiver and another a DD is helping her with her daughters wedding plans this weekend.

I am back to walking POOCHIE, cooking MCDOUGELL dishes and keeping up with dishes and laundry.

Haven't started my purposeful walking program yet but will soon.

I am praying that Irene's surgery is complete and recovery not too difficult. It certainly won't be easy with her previous surgeries still to be recovered from. But if anyone can come through this I know Irene will with the help of God.

On the 4th I could see the fireworks above the trees from 3 or 4 locations as I sat by my window in my den. Fireflies kind of filled in between sets of explosions.Tonight there may be a different light show in the form of lightening.

I never know when neighbors will be sitting outside, it just seems to happen, so I'll have to check soon. Last night we had 9 of us. It seems the other courts are usually 2 or 3. How wonderful God has been to make all this fall into place so neatly for me! I could not have organized this on my own and made all these best choices! Praise the Lord!

I'm trying to get back to checking up on the rest of you also. I had discontinued my internet for 2 months so doing my best

Just read on another team that Irene is in surgery right now for a fractured vertebrae (sp). I hate to hear that. A friend is going to go and be with her. Said that Irene was down. Let's remember her in prayer.

Thank you for your concern and good wishes . Over the weekend Maurice sleep such a lot , but my Monday he seemed alright again. Sleep is a natural healer after all. So I didn't go for an emergency appointment then. I am keeping an eye on him , he has a medical appointment at the end of the month. One of his regular checks on bp and everything so I will tell the doctor then of this incident .
Have a good week friends . Ree

I love to hear of the Indian culture and how old folk are precious and respected . That's wonderful.
Sorry about Irene's fall I will pray for her .
We are having a quiet weekend at home as my husband isn't very well. He has no energy sleeping a lot and having night sweats which can be a sign of an infection , so am going to contact the medical centre early tomorrow for help .
Have a good week ahead . Ree

Good Morning on a very early Saturday morning......

Hope all of you who celebrated the 4th of July had a lovely day.....

Roberta all the best to you and can see that you are rearing to go with all the Mayo experiences and following the plan.... look forward to learning more as we go along.

Irene hope the swelling in your leg has subsided....

Ree, as I commented on another team you definitely sound much much younger.

Marsha Praise the Lord, for having blessed you with health and fitness... oh JOA... is something we should all come to terms with and you are doing brilliantly.

In my case guess has been the other way round.... Both DH and I have siblings at least 10 or more years older than us and back in our times everyone married young.... so both of us have nieces/nephews who are just 4 or 5 years to the max younger than us and they as per Inidan tradition would call us uncle/aunty & their children... grandpa/grandma.... and then me being a mom at 17 & grand mom at 35...just made me age faster.....I became grandma to almost anyone and everyone from the past 20 years......so today even my 60 year old cardiologist calls me grandma.... just Indian culture thought believe me at heart I don't feel 86 I feel may be 50 ok 55.... but then, when I walk into church will meet a portly gentleman or a podgy grandmaish looking lady who would walk up to me, touch my feet and say bless us Ammamma,(Grandma)... I am touched... it is our culture but... i also in my heart thinking do I look so ancient that they call me Grandma..... Sparks has just given me back my joie de vivre.... made me feel young again and when I meet people especially on this team I feel I'm young again and I get motivated to do better when I see all my contemporaries . God Bless You

Hugs for a lovely weekend
Mani

Ree, your doctor is right, take care of yourself. It is so important for the caregiver. Yes, that does help the ego, and I have had people tell me I don't look my age, and I say I don't act it either.

Mercy growing up 80 was old. A month today I will be 83 and except for the arthiritis I have been blessed.

Hope you and everyone has a great July 4th, and we all have a lot to be thankful for.

Happy 4th July . Every day is worth celebrating now.
I was at the doctors this week ,she says she has to keep checking my birthdate as I do not look or act my age. That was good for my ego. She encourages me to keep active and look after myself , she appreciates I am caregiver to my husband but stresses the need to do things and go out on my own too.
Have a good weekend . Ree

Mani today my knee is better. I slept good with no pain. I see my surgeon this month and if he doesn't give me any answers I am going to get another opinion from the doc who did my hip replacement years ago and it is still good.

I am jumping ahead to the menus and recipes in Grain Brain--making out a grocery list for my trip to the grocery store tomorrow. I have been sorting out the pile of Mayo handouts and DVDs and working my way through the "Take Charge" journal--decided to give that priority. Slowly getting into a routine. I have been doing gluten-free even at Mayo. It was nice to enjoy smoothies again here at home. Now I intend to do some serious cooking--bulk cooking to fill up the freezer. Also starting FLY Lady missions and some light exercises.

Here's to a successful and enjoyable day for all of us. Love, Roberta

Hello everyone,

Just stopped by to wish everyone a happy July....

Have just been taking it easy the past 3 days. Did some catching up on my crocheting. I just began doing a stole for my newly wedded GGD Shania. She turns 20 this September.

Ree, nice reading about the lovely evening you had... glad that you are taking some time out for yourself.

Irene, sorry I misread the post....however if your 2nd knee is giving you trouble, is it possible that you could get a second opinion from another doctor?

Marsh, with Spade gone, you must be having some time on your hands, but you need the rest after all the yardsales that you have had....

Have a great Tuesday

Hugs & prayers to all

A new month with new hopes I trust you are all well. Irene my replacement knee still is swollen and occasional pain several years ? Since the surgery .5 years at least? Time passes so fast.
Last night I was I was in a team for the local women's group . 200 or so in the hall in teams of .4. Our team consisted of 4 members ages 60, 71 and 2 at 82 ,. We won't win but we did ok and enjoyed it our general knowledge is still good but sometimes a name won't just come out.!

Mani, so good to read your posts. Yes, I had a busy weekend. This coming week will be busy also. Geo. Jr. will come tomorrow and pickup Spade. I will miss him. Geo. will be back Fri. with Karen to pressure wash the pool deck and cage. He will mow tomorrow. They had a good time in Key West and got home this evening.

Hope everyone has a good night's rest. I feel like I might be able to fall asleep. :)

Hugs and prayers to all.

Hello everyone and a brand new week and month staring at us.......

I know I haven't posted on the chat thread... sorry... just been a bit caught up with a cousin visiting and then the Saturday evening with the grands, where I thought I wasn't 86 but rather 68, before exhaustion got the better of me, while dealing with my 2 older great-great-grands.

Roberta you have had a lovely experience at Mayo.......and the icing on the cake being, you being looked after by the airline crew so well. Well I do know a bit about the Mayo clinic as my son Jacob underwent his open heart Surgery at Mayo in August 2010, 4 years ago and praise the lord, he is perfectly fine. In fact he has his bi-annual check up scheduled for September this year & my DS & DDIL Susan will be in Minnesota this September & then spend time with a couple of Susan's nephews who live in Chicago.

Talking about age Roberta, it is only about numbers..... well I'll be 87 in Jan next year......but I don't feel more than 50.... till the knees and back start screaming......

Ree I completely agree that this is one team that is the most youthful at heart....

Marsha you sure had a busy sunday all chalked out....

Irene sorry that you didn't feel good enough to get to church today.... but rest it out, it's our body's way of letting us know I need the rest, so respect it.... Glad you are feeling better...

have a great new week all...

Hugs & prayers
Mani
PS: Hope your bronchial infection has settled down and you are having a good time will all the family visiting you...

Irene, glad you are feeling better. Sorry your knee is bothering you. Is it the first one that you had surgery on, or the last one? Did you let your doctor know you are having pain? Will keep you in my prayers.

I went to church this morning, then to coffee hour, then had to go pickup some prescriptions, and the ATM at the bank.

Have a good evening, and hope tonight is better for you.

Hi on Sunday morning. Age is just a number is my motto too, it does me good to come on this team and feel the positive vibes! One day at a time is another motto .
I have enjoyed a few quiet days doing my needlework which helps me relax . I have a few busy days coming up.
Travel can be so tiring and when it goes wrong it's far worse, but a silver cloud appeared with priority treatment . Wonderful . Roberta .
Enjoy today everyone Ree

Thank you, Marsha and Irene! I returned home tired, but inspired to get a move on! I don't expect to do everything at once. One step at a time will take me where I want to be. Mayo is such a warm, calm, and inspiring place. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to experience it. Love, Roberta

I know you must have been tired.
Good to have you back safe and sound.
I'm just two years behind you at 85.
I look at the obituaries and most of them died much younger than I am.
Guess I had to stay after school and finish up my work.

Good Morning, Everyone!

This morning, I am still on Minnesota time! This has been a memorable experience--a highlight in my life--a life-changer. It was after 8:30 pm when I arrived home last night. I was so bushed that I just took my med, put on my PJs, and fell into bed. Went right to sleep--a solid SEVEN hours. I awoke around 4:00 this morning, lay there a few minutes, then decided to start my day with my "bed" exercises. Then got up and started unpacking.

Yesterday, at the Rochester airport, our plane was just revving up to take off when an order came to hold--President Obama's plane was to land in Minneapolis and the airport was shut down for 30 minutes. After TWO HOURS waiting on the tarmac, we received an all clear and started out again when the pilot said, "I don't know how to tell you this . . ." There was a serious problem with the hydraulic system and we had to de-plane and return to the airport. I must say the Delta staff were superb! They provided a bus to take passengers to Minneapolis. However, one grabbed me as I was returning to the check-in line from retrieving my luggage and said that they had arranged for a taxi to take me and another couple to the airport! I had "priority" seating in the plane--the first time to go FIRST CLASS! What a treat! I breezed right through Check-in and Security in a wheelchair. The lady, Cindy, whom I talked to to reschedule my flight back to Seattle, came up to me at the Minneapolis airport to personally take care of my flight. How's that for customer service! There was a tag on my bag--PRIORITY! And WOW! Did I ever get it!

For the entire trip and stay in Rochester, I was treated with special care. Wonderful people, wonderful care. The Neurologist said he would think of me, as I was smart and exceptional or inspiring (or something like that) everyone keeps comparing me to other 87-year-olds. That sounds SO OLD! Funny, I do NOT feel that old! Mentally, maybe 30-ish. Oh, well, forget about numbers! With these three steps, I'm gonna be back to my "new" self--better than ever: Grain Brain nutrition, FLY Lady self-management, and physical therapy/exercise.

Here's to a successful and enjoyable day to all of us. Love, Roberta

Ree I know your project is better than the ones from her children that mom puts on her fridge but she loves them as they are her kids.

Marsha I've heard some things hurt dogs ears. Like when someone sings and the dog howls they think he is singing but they say not so, it is hurting his ears. Have you heard that?
Have a great day.

Good morning Ree and all. Been busy, guess that comes with summertime. Don't spend as much time on the computer as I do in the Fall and Winter months.

I have to go and pick up a few groceries this morning. Pet sitting Spade until Mon or Tues. He is such a good boy.

It is hot outside already, tomorrow is the Spanish Church (that we rent to) yard sale. Judy wlll come in the morning and pick up some things she had here for our yard sale last week.

Hope everyone has a great day. Be back in later. Some have started with the fireworks already last night. Neither dog likes that.

Hi on Friday it's good to catch up on friends news, i did hear it's friendship week, I really appreciate my friends every day.
I still haven't a working printer. Grandson Jake did look at it that's a start, says he needs to download some soft ware for it. .? I don't know ! He says it will be working this weekend ! We shall see..
I got my husband involved on framing a small stitched picture I had done. We had to work together with me reminding him all the time what I wanted him to do. It's done it wouldn't win any competitions but it's framed . I am pleased we did it between us and praised M for his work. It's ok as long as no one looks at the back! What you see is what you get , it's my our dear dil I am sure she will love it because it's all hand done.
Have a good week end . Ree
