Pat, that is amazing, a big congratulations coming your way. I need to put mine on my ankle. Keep up the good work.

Just had a nice salad for lunch, now to get busy cleaning house. Put my Mother's old sprinkling can out on front porch with fall artificial flowers in it. Have to make a wreath for my front door, as last year the one I had was old and falling apart, and I got rid of it. I have a grapevine wreath and will get some artificial fall flowers to glue on it. Maybe tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day, and am looking forward to my first pumpkin spice coffee this year.

According to Katy Bowman's new book: "Don't Just Sit There," the longer we sit or stand without moving for long periods, it changes everything in our bodies--even our DNA. Every little movement counts. I just saw a video of her interview with Mark Sisson--important info for me. This fits in with all the new scientific studies coming out on nutrition, exercise, and psychology. Exciting stuff surfacing now, dear friends.

Hello everyone,

Hope all of you are having a great Tuesday. Well mine started on a bad note as I had to finish with cooking lunch and rush over to my brother's place as mom was down with temperature and was throwing a tantrum. Well just to let you know my mom is 97 and has mild dementia / alzhiemers. She has spells of confusion on bad days and can throw some rather nasty tantrums at my dear sis-in-law who is her chief care-giver. So the fever didn't help and mom was screaming herself hoarse, not willing to take her meds. So spent a good hour calming her down and finally cajoling her into taking her medicines. We had to give her a tranquilliser to calm her down. Finally left a little post noon with my 2nd daughter-in-law who volunteered to drive me down to deal with my sis-in-laws SoS

Marsha, you have had a lovely visit with your son. God Bless your family
Pat thats for the welcome. Yes we do have corn-on-the-cob here as well, but more as an evening snack. It is roasted on a charcoal fire and the covered with our spicy chutneys and makes for a wonderful rainy evening snack.

Dear Ree-so glad you have you family so near And can give support when you need it.
We do as well as we live summers with DD # one . And other daughters lend their support to her when ever she needs it! We are blessed as well!

Tonight we enjoyed a typical American summer meal of fresh corn on the cob and fresh sliced tomatoes.balong with other side dishes. Is that something you folks do as well or it it just an American thing to eat corn on the cob. I remember shocking our french exchange students who thought corn on the cob was only for pigs:):).

Just thought it might be fun to share with you.
Huugs, Pat

Roberta---Thinking of you and sending healing prayer to your DD . May her surgery go well!
Love to you both

Roberta I am excited because after some looking I finally found my Spark Step Counter.
At first I attached it to my belt loop but it didn't seem to work. Later I attached it to top of sock and now Have reached 4 lites!!
Tomorrow it should do much better when I do my 60 minute walk.

Keeping you in my prayers.
Hugs, Pat

Geo Jr. was over and he mowed, and edged. Cut back several bushes, and planted the flowers in Brooks' memory garden that I had on the Alter Sunday. We released Brooks' BD balloon and hope this comes through. We were going to go to Popeyes and eat, put he was sweaty so he went through the drive through and brought our lunch back home, we had a good visit. It looks like rain now, getting dark out.

Just tried to upload and Spark won't take it. Oh well, it went way high.

Too much going on most days in this senior community and it seems I need the others to recover. And in 2 weeks our 2 Bible studies start up again. As other times I have been reading the posts in chat but always find that at the end of the day I have once again not been by to chat.

It does seem that this more comfortable weather helps to result in us feeling better and more cheerful. So it is a good time to accomplish something extra to benefit ourselves. With that said, I expect to spend some time this afternoon watching tv!!!! I have no idea what part of PA they are from, but a team from PA is in the Little League Playoffs. I did see it yesterday between naps. I had been reading a booklet on Psalm 23 that our church's Pastor bought several copies of and encouraged us to follow up on after preaching on a weekly verse this summer. It focused on the needs of sheep that are really very dumb, susceptible to health problems and often helpless. I think we are smart enough on this team not to reach the depths of troubles like sheep and care enough about ourselves to do at least something with our lives. We are worth more than we often give to ourselves.

Now I have to read this and let it speak to me!

Welcome Sarabai,

I like the spelling of your name. I live in an independent living senior development for the last year and a half. Mu DH and I had planned to do so but he died several months before that would happen.

I don't post very often but try to keep up with reading the chat posts. I have gotten somewhat off track with my eating and need to get a new foothold in my program. Although I live alone, 90% or more of the activities seem to end with food, generally carbs and fats.

Thank you for the warm and lovely welcome my dear friends.

Roberta, can't thank you enough for all the help in inducting me into Spark People. Love you loads, you will always be remembered for being my first Spark friend.

Marsha, was lovely reading about you. Thank you for taking time out and writing an intro for my benefit. How exciting that you are going to be a great-great-grandma this November. Ever since our Great-grand-daughter broke the news to us that she and her husband are planning a family, my husband and I can't wait to hear the good news about us getting promoted to great-great-grand parents...hope it happens soon, but for sure you are beating me to it.

Stitching Nan, that's a nice name, well I do cross stitch too...just last week helped my great-grand-daughter finish an assignment for her school Sorry to hear that you have to cope with your husband's Alzhiemers. My mom, well yes you heard right, my mom who is 97 too has dementia / Alzhiemers, but thankfully hasn't progressed too much after it was diagnosed 2 years ago. She does have confused spells and doesn't recognise the people she hasn't seen for long. No real short term memory loss so far. She is a stickler for routine though and can throw tantrums if the routine is breached. She is well taken care off by my youngest brother's family and yes they do have a full tome care-giver for her.

Well essentially for all of us ladies, despite being in different continents, our lives tend to revolve around our husbands and children. Somewhere we need to get a handle on our lives and learn to give ourselves importance.

Well I had a good Sunday, though I woke up to terribly swollen feet, the swelling subsided by noon. But I was too tired to cook today so asked my daughter-in-law to send us food. Rested a while after lunch and then my husband and I drove to the supermarket, with out live-in help, to shop for the week. That also helped me get my 30 minutes of walking for the day. Got back cleared up and my Husband went out for dinner with our second son's family, but I decided to stay home with a salad and a glass of milk for dinner. Had binged on Biryani this afternoon.

So much for my day...hope all you ladies have a great Sunday.

Love
Sairah

Hello on Sunday and a warm welcome to our new member Siarah, that lovely you live together as a family with your own space yet help and company when needed,
I felt as you did in reaching 80 thinking it's not possible. I do not feel or look 80.
I am in England near Nottingham in the middle of England, I care for my husband Maurice, who has middle stage Alzheimer's . He is generally calm and happy so I am thankful for that, I do have help now each morning . A caregiver comes to help him shower and start his day,
One of our sons lives with us five days a week, he is on his own with a grown up family and is a grand dad himself. He goes to spend time with his own family at weekends.
Another son and his lovely family live a mile away, we see them often ,
I love to meet people and talk a lot! I also do counted cross stitch which helps me to stay calm !
I hope you have have a blessed day. Thank you for friendship and support . Ree

Good afternoon to all, and a big welcome to Sairah. I know you will love this group. I am 84, a widow of 3 years last May. A different life for sure. I live in the same house that we bought in 1960, only sorry we hadn't downsized, but that is in the past, I have a lady friend that rents my apt. over my 2 car garage that my Mother and Father lived in before they passed, and then have had different members of the family live up there. Judy is a dear friend, younger than me, she is a Deacon in our Church which is only 2 blocks away. We help each other in different ways, I love to cook and miss cooking for DH, so I m always fixing food and freezing for my dear Son to take home with him when he comes to mow and edge each week and visit. I have 2 Grandchildren, and 8 Great Grandchildren, some Step but they are all treated the same, and expecting my first Great, Great Grandson in November. God has been good to me though these years, and I am truly blessed with Family, Friends, and Church Family.

Hope you will join right in and post when you can.

I went and got a potted Mum for the Alter tomorrow in DH's memory, it is his BD Monday, he would have been 88. I also made deviled eggs for coffee hour after church as he loved them so much.

Well, I have run my mouth long enough, hope everyone has a great day, and evening. I will be watching the BUCS play their 3rd pre-season game tonight on TV. It is a home game.

Sairah, I am so happy to see you on this team. There are wonderful, caring, supportive members here. Welcome. You will feel right at home.

Proper nutrition is always important and more so as we mature. Currently, I am following Mark Sisson's recommendations, but there are other respected people out there. You will find one that is best for you.

You are blessed with a loving family--you are a great parent. Ease into your exercises to avoid injuries and you will soon be skipping around. Take life one step at a time.

Have a happy day. Love, Roberta

Hello everyone,

Finally followed one of my first friends on Spark and got to the right team of friends who seem to be battling similar issues as mine.

I turned 80 this May. But when people say 80, I tend to ask, who me...I don't feel a day of 50....mmm well might be an exaggeration, lets say 60. That too when I see all my grown-up grands. Our youngest Grandson got married in April this year.

My husband of 63 years an I live independently on the ground floor of an apartment building. The rest of our family, that is our 4 sons and their children live in the 8 floors above. My 2 married daughters, the eldest lives in the same city about 4 kms away and my younger daughter lives in Delhi, which is a 9 hour drive or an hour flight. She visits us almost every month.

I am blessed to still have my mom around, longevity seems to run in our family. She is almost 97 and has dementia / alzhiemers, but mild. She is by the grace of God still mobile, says her prayers 5 times a day, but yes she has nurses to take care of her full time. She lives with my youngest brother and his family. My mom is my biggest motivation to stay fit and I am inspired by her. these days with the lbs piling, I seem to be struggling more than her to walk or negotiate stairs.

I am 4 ft 11, and weigh 218 lbs now. I could swear I was 5 ft 2, but this Feb when I was in hospital, my physician who was checking me before discharge said that i measured only 4ft 11 inches shrunk 3 inches....well getting old hit me hard here.

So this is my story and my long term goal is to knock of 90 lbs, but short term goal is to knock off 20lbs by this Dec. My eldest Great-grand-son is getting married on the 28th of Dec and I wanna be a fit great-grandma.

Will jump in to chat with you guys more often in the future

Much Love
Sairah Khan

I am eating differently. Iím not sure when this started, but it seems to be pretty well ensconced at this point. I have two mugs of coffee with H&H in the morning, then I get a little hungry about 1:00 or 2:00 pm and have yogurt w/whey or a protein smoothie. Because I donít like to cook first thing in the morning, I may have bacon and eggs for supper. That is working surprising well. I eat when I am hungry, and that means keeping good, almost ready-to-eat foods on hand. It is only necessary to prepare two meals a day.

Marsha, the Fitbit is on my person at all times except in the shower! At bedtime, I switch it to a soft wristwatch band for sleeping. It tracks my sleep, too, but not that accurately, as when I am awake but quiet, it assumes I am asleep! But it is fun to use.

Marsha, the secret is---keep moving! Sitting is now called, "the new smoking," meaning sitting is just as bad as smoking for your body. When I sit, I keep moving my feet and legs and tighten my abs. When I am waiting on my coffee or tea water in the kitchen, I create exercises to do. The step counter is an excellent way to see how active you are. Don't think about miles walked, appreciate how active you have been during the day. Check out Mark Sisson's view on keeping active. Every minute of activity during your day is beneficial to your body. Passing through a doorway, grab onto the frame and stretch your chest and arch your back--feels good. My daughter gave me a Fitbit One. I tried all the suggested ways of wearing it, but couldn't get it to move much until I cut off an old belt, clipped it onto the belt and wear it on my ankle. It counts every step.
Make this a happy day. Hugs, Roberta

P.S. Look up on line for balancing exercises. I did and they are helping. I hope to be retiring my cane in October. Also, I am learning isometrics. They can be done any where at any time.

Roberta, I don't know how you can get in so many steps a day. My pedometer sure don;t register right according to you, I am pretty active, and I do good to get 2000.. They say 10,000 a day, i don't know what kind of a pedometer they use,, but none of mine, including my I Phone registers, maybe I don't pick up my feet enough, I do have a tendency to not. Allways afraid of falling.

Pat, love the picture, and your new hair cut. Makes you feel like a different person doesn;t it to get it cut and styled.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Steps were good yesterday: 22,196--not my best, but I'll take 'em. Steps, not miles, show how active I have been. Each stride is different. For me, miles don't count unless I am running a race around an oval track. But STEPS are a great indicator of activity. Sitting is being called the "new smoking." Very bad for us. So when I sit, I keep moving my legs and feet. When I am in the kitchen waiting for bacon to cook or coffee or tea to be ready, I make up exercises. I am getting into isometrics now--as they can be done anywhere at any time.

I'm looking forward to the arrival of ebooks from Mark Sisson. When I am not learning something new, I am miserable! I am also looking forward to breathing clean air again. Oh how sweet to have a gentle rain come in.
Make this a happy day. emoticon Hugs, Roberta

Pat I would say you had a great day. Your food sounds great. I know what you mean about portion control. Have to work on that also.

I stuffed some red peppers with brown rice and veggie mixture. They came out so good. I have one ready to put on the dryer when it is time for Judy to get home from work.

Hope everyone had a good nights rest. Don't know where this week has gone. I get hair tomorrow morning. Don't need any groceries so will just come home.

I am happy to report that DH and I had NO Dr. Visits today:)
Felt great, up at 5:00- all PT's finished plus extra "voice" practices done again by 8:00. wash caught up too.

DD served Blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Served with Maple Syrup. She is excellent cook but we do have to practice better serving sizes if we ever achieve losing a little weight.

A Dear friend visited us over lunch time
This time we had fresh sweet corn, on the cob, cole slaw , watermelon, whole grain bread and ended with a slice of "ChurchLady" strawberry-Rhubarb pie. Just posting it shows us we must go very lightly for dinner..

dinner - 1 slice whole grain bread, 1- Tb. mayo, 1 slice 1/2 inch thick tomato, thin slice red onion, and lettuce,. Plus 3 radishes , DH's -8 or 9 fresh rasberries , 2 fig bars and tea.

Time to do my evening Symbicort and voice exercises.
-part of my my evening prep before hopefully going to bed by 9:00ish . Never quite make it but that is what I aim for:)
Sweet dreams, as Marsha would say-

Thank you for caring ! We now have a regular caregiver . Kelly started yesterday, a young pleasant woman, M liked her, that is important, he generally is happy and contented and accepts all that's done for him. She helped him shower ,dress , and shave , she brought him to the living are to have b fast.then went back to clean the shower area and tidy round . She also made his bed after checking if it was dry . I was most impressed.
I ordered a new bed, had such problems over the order, I hope it's coming tiday but dare not count on that . The firm did not provide good customer service. I want and need things to go smoothly , not cause me more stress. Have a good day. Ree

Fay, the air quality is back in the "Orange" zone--still we are advised to stay indoors or limit our time and activities outdoors. The long-term effect of this smoke can be disastrous. One odd benefit from all this smoke is that it is protecting us from the hot sun and temperatures are much lower. How about that!
Have a happy day. emoticon Roberta

Another TO-DO done: my voter registration and absentee voter forms came yesterday. They are filled out and ready to mail. These little TO-DOs just keep popping up.

To really become a citizen of this city, I need to get out and about regardless of the weather and intimidating traffic. Odd goals to have!!! Have a happy day.

Ree, so glad that you are getting some time for yourself, you have been through a lot, and having been a caregiver I can honestly say that it was the hardest job I ever had. Every free minute I cherished, I would do it again, but I would do it differently as far as having more me time. Wouldn't have been so hard on this body.

Have a great day.

Popping in to see how you are all doing. I am ok. But dragged down by dreadful tiredness, I have naps, I am ok for ten mins then feel tired again. We do have a daily carer come now to help M shower shave and dress, I also have a weekly home cleaner . Looking at getting a sitter one afternoon a week now so I can go out or even just sleep !

Hi friends-- so glad to see you posting, Fay! Glad to see you are taking advantage of local social events! Sounds more interesting than Doctor visits, that's for sure:) please keep em coming.

Your posts mean alot to us as well, Marsha! I enjoy hearing about your activities and family as well. And yes, even the dogs:)

I know what you mean by PT assignments, Irene. Not only do I have to follow through on the PT's list from after surgery but now my voice doctor has added her list as well.

It takes me Two hours every day to get through them all so i decided to just get up early to get them over with. Set my alarm for 5:00 am. I have 11 chair exercises and 6
Stretch band exercises and 11 voice assignments to improve my vocal cords. Plus my walking time (with the walker) so like yesterday-I do one of the above and then walk 4 minutes. I was all done by 7:30 AM today. ( 68 minutes walking plus 1 hour exercises)

The rest of the day is mine:). We have guest coming again for dinner. Sounds like DD has all her plans and ingredients in place so DH and I will just enjoy:) i may even get in a nap this PM.

No doctor appointments til tomorrow. Again I had to cancel my hair appointment as that is when the voice doctor wants to see me. My raggy hair will just have to wait another week again:) oh, our hearing aides are now ordered and maybe DH and I will now be able to hear each other without shouting.! That will help my voice as well!

Little Brooklyn was delighted to get up early also and rewarded me with a nice little pile out by the pink petunias:). DH had the job of pick up after he got up.

I got off 2 -BD cards, 2 -Anniversary cards , 1- bereavement card, and one Thinking of you card this morning.( my current version of a social life)
Hugs, Pat

Pat, you are busy with Doctor's appts, I know I could use a hearing aid, but just too much money right now with taxes, insurance, etc.

Your stirfrys sound delicious. I love fresh veggies,

Irene, praying that the aches go away, and so glad to see you posting when you feel like it, and the Daily Word.

Have a figure what I am going to have for breakfast, having my decaf now.

Pat I see the ear doctor about my ears Thursday also. Will have my hearing aids checked also.
Tomorrow the PT is coming.
I wrote a short blog about Sleep, wonderful sleep. Finally got some pain free sleep.

A year and more of losses undone! I'm still trying to learn to include the enjoyable get-togethers which of course (at least here [PA Dutch churches believe as much in feeding the body as well as the soul]) in this church backed senior community.

Last week included a spaghetti fundraiser and a root beer float after our movie. Tonight is our monthly dinner/meeting for the courts and tomorrow a ladies' brunch. Friday is birthday celebration with cake and ice cream for August celebrants. These are my social events which draw me out from being a homebody and not very interesting meals...although I try to have mostly fresh produce. emoticon emoticon = emoticon

Sorry to have been so AWOL. I am even behind in household chores. (That's ongoing!) So much going on right now. For instance, as I was preparing to leave for the shuttle to get groceries on Tuesday, my phone rang. I was informed that they would be providing extra transportation to a near-by park where the Allentown Band was celebrating their 100th anniversary. This year it included 2 noted singers, one being the singing tenor, policeman from 9 11. The other a woman from Allentown who made it big in the opera world. We got there at least 30 minutes before starting time finding the pavilion packed. The people who live there went to their cabins and brought out chairs and benches for us and others who came the same time. Although we could hear fine there was competition for sound...I never heard the crickets chirp so loudly!! And they had no microphones. A very memorable event!

The other day I was all set to have an upcoming quiet day of reading. Two days before I rc'd a call from Ben who is helping me to set up my finances. We set a morning appt. here. Then an email from my daughter,Carol saying she would prefer taking me to the bank on Friday after work instead of Saturday. Then a rescheduled meet and greet from earlier that week was made for 3 PM. After all of these our court group sat outdoors until 9:30! Not a physical day beyond sitting up but never opened my book.

I admit these were a bit busier than an average day although not by that much. I appreciate a day now and then when I sit down in the lounge chair and wake up later from a needed nap. Which reminds me----BBL

Sorry to hear your back aches and your legs are swelling , Irene!
But so happy you are getting the care you deserve and can use the computer at times!

DH and my life seems to revolve around Dr. Visits, as well!
We had two each yesterday and two more today. . I Actually got good news yesterday regarding my eye site. No signs of glaucoma.

And the other visit was to an audiologist for my increasingly "gravely " voice. She gave me exercises to do at home for next week. Blowing and making sounds with a straw in a little glass of water. ( I never heard of such a thing but will follow instructions:)

This PM both DH and I will be fitted hearing aides following that exam recently. Always something but we are grateful for our care as well!

DD # 3 is here visiting with her grandchildren ( our beautiful great -grand children. Boy age 3+ and girl age 1 plus- taking first steps!

My culinary skills got to use up some of DH zucchini from garden yesterday in stir fry!
Going to make another version tomorrow for visit from 2 more grown and married grandkids.:)
Hugs, Pat

Yes, I have my computer in my assisted living room. I don't get it on it much as my back hurts and legs swell when I do so haven't chatted.
Thanks to all of my emoticon ,s and especially to Marcy for keeping everyone updated.

Up at 7:00 , only got in 20 minutes of purposeful walking and 2 minutes doing the stepper.
Busy day today-. Had a healthy breakfast. -egg, ww toast, oj and coffee-then DD # 3 came and baked zuchinni bread -delicious-which we had for lunch along with
Large vegetable salad.
Pm-Had to go to a doctors office to sign papers for them. Had a coffee mocha on the road.
When we got home a friend had arrived with a peach pie!
Needless to say we have had too many sugar calories today so will be satisfied with just popcorn for dinner today.
Glad to hear Marsha is trumping up her exercise. What about the rest of us? Are we giving this the priority it deserves to keep healthy?
Pat

Up at 6:30 this morning. Watched CNN and then started plans for day.
Healthy breakfast--3 fruits, ww toast and jam, oat cereal, almond milk and coffee.
Already walked 30 minutes, 10 min. At a time and did 3 minutes steppers , one minute at a time. Plan to continue walking 10 minutes each hour today.

How are you doing? What are you doing to improve your health? Plenty I hope. We can't just take it for granted anymore.

Hugs, Pat

Good morning to all. Just checking my teams, and need to get busy with some housework. Not my favorite thing to do.

Here is a picture of Three Generations coming home from the Bridal Shower Saturday. Myself, Granddaughter, and Great Granddaughter. Had a fun time with these two.

Ree, I know exactly what you are going through. I even had those waterproof pads to put under DH, and it was a losing battle. He had lost all control, and didn't really realize that he was wetting. I had to change the linens every day, wash and dry them. It is so sad. Please take care of you when ever you get a chance. When the caregiver comes can you get out of the house for a bit. When Hospice was called in they would have me leave and do something to free my mind while they would be here (about and hour). I am so sorry you have to go through this, but everyone in family had jobs to do and couldn't be of much help. I know I aged during this time, and my back paid for it. At least I knew when he passed that I had a peace of mind knowing I had done everything I could.

Big hugs coming to you. God Bless
Marsha/FL

Today I found my spark mail is going in my junk box, I need to sort that out. I found several goodies and good wishes in there, most from this team. Thank you so much ,I needed it this morning,
Some of you know what it's like with a partner with Alzheimer's. I woke at 6 and felt wet ! No not me but my dh. We still sleep in a double bed but am looking to get twin beds as soon as I can. . He and whole bed were wet. He does wear special pads and pants at night but he was still wet, he was awake so got him in bathroom. He sat on the toilet and couldn't get up again. Yes we have a raised toilet seat and rail I told him I couldn't pull him up and he can do it , I think he was still half asleep .i stripped the bed ,went back in bathroom and he had got up then so I changed him and the bed and got him back in. By that time I was wide awake . So I stayed up. I enjoy a quiet hour on my own,. A carer comes at 8 to get him up , showered, shaved and dressed, then it's me again all day, I am ok just tired. Thank you for good wishes. Much appreciated . Ree

Hi team-hope all is going well with you and your health improvements!!
Please let us know what you are doing daily to reach your goal.the more we talk about it the more we can help others reach their goals and help ourselves stay on track!!

Today along that line of thought-i timed myself and reached 1 full hour of purposely walking-( using my walker for stability) 10 minutes at a time.
Plus i spent more than an hour in the kitchen, either doing the dishes or clean up or stirring up a batch of Raisin Oatmeal cookies again this week. They were a hit last week with DH as well as DD 's and their families.

So "-take the bull by the horns" friends, and do a little more today than you did yesterday-to help increase your strength !
Pat

Pat so good to hear you are doing ok from the last surgery, and sure the doctor will be happy too. Just take it easy, and get your rest. It is so hot here, I have noticed it this year more than ever.

Have a good evening, tired as I had a Ladies Circle meeting this morning at church,, then took a lady home, then to get hair done, and then to Dollar Tree. Unloaded things and got them put away, but work up a sweat.

Good for you , Marsha! You make us proud. I haven't got out to get hair done since before my surgery. I hope to get a shape up next week. It is getting a little shaggy!
Even our little shiHTzu Brooklyn is sheduled for a grooming before me:)
Today I am off to my follow up appointment from surgery one month ago today!
So far I am doing very well with no signs of recurrance of prolapse. Dr should be pleased. :)

Thanks Pat, the cake was good, but have to get back on healthier food today. :) Don't know where time goes. Just got in from shopping and need to mop floors, maybe later. Tomorrow I have a meeting at church, and then get hair done, and then to Dollar Tree. Geo. Jr is coming tomorrow to mow, and then back again he and Karen on Sat. His BD is Monday 10th, so I will give him his gift Sat.
Going to rest a bit.
Have a great day.

Yesterday was a busy day, wasn't on computer much.
Had a good BD, and now working on reaching 85. :)
Here is a picture of a cake that Geo. and Karen brought to the restaurant with the family.

Hope it comes out. It was a little dark in the restaurant. Now to get back on the healthy way of eating. :)
Hope everyone has a great day.

Thanks to Marsha and irene's dear friend Marcy i got a pretty card off to Irene! Our prayers are still with her for gaining strenght and a possible solution to her - living alone- problem after her dismissal from hospital! I hope she is placed in a nice caring nursing home with 👰🏼s to care for her around the clock!

Wow! Congratulations to Roberta for not only passing her dreaded drivers license test but also finding the perfect diet for her to lose the weight she hopes to lose.

My thoughts and prayers go to Ree who has her hands full right now caring for dH. We understand . I pray you can get some the much needed support that you need! Will be watching for your occasional updates!

Congratulations to me as well as I continue to gain back my strenght. As I have said in the past I use my little cell phone timer to not only walk every 5 minutes with my faithful walker( between 5 minutes used for reading a favorite book) but now I am using my walking time as a -work time too.!

This morning I was able to get my bath, shower area and long bathroom vanity and sink all thoroughly cleaned vas well as the floor in my 5 minute "walking times". What a satisfaction that is to take charge of something around here! DD normally does all the cooking and cleaning with my only contribution in past of folding clothes as they come from dryer!

Oh also failed to mention- i got my white load laundry caught up too and hung it all over on our deck to dry( our dryer died on us recently and our new one doesn't arrive for another week! )

I hope Bella is making progress as well! Love reading your contributions.

Congratulations again to Nan for her year of maintanance! Great!

Hugs, Pat
