Wow! Roberta!! Your energy really is back! Good for you! Setting goals for yourself is paying off big time.
With my current condition I am pleased to get in my 30 min. Walks before breakfast.

That was wise of your daughter to set a later date to come to celebrate with you.

Our cleaning lady just left. I told her she can come back for 2 hours every week if she wants.
She hugged me and thanked me for the job! Now that was worth it to make her so happy.
We are squeaky clean around here for the moments.
I am happy too:)

My step goal for this week was 35,000 (Sun - Sat), and with yesterday's 8,571 steps (day 6) I have already made that goal without Saturday's (day 7) steps.

Did an hour's worth of de-cluttering yesterday--you know what that entails! Feels good to see the results. My Fitbit One racked up 8,368 steps. My energy is back!!!

Climbed two flights of stairs yesterday--twice! First time in ages! For some reason, my Fitbit One just gave me credit for three flights! Called the company, did their test, and re-set it. I want credit for all that effort! emoticon

My daughter and I agreed that this Christmas was not a good time for either one of us to be traveling, so she will be here after the holidays--flying weather permitting. We will be talking a lot by phone. emoticon Roberta

Hi Roberta! No, to answer your question, Only the two single daughters join us every year for CHRISTMAS at our TEXAS DD's and husbands house. -along with our Texas grandchildren. All the rest stay with their own grandchildren back home. It is still a very happy celebration !

Do you have any family near you, Roberta?

I had a busy day today after doing my morning walking.
Baked up a new batch of apple muffins but thud time found a recipe that' included mashed black beans for protein. ( I actually used my cooked pinto beans ) pretty good. I had to bake them longer than suggested as the were still quite moist at first.

Thank you so much , Roberta for the lovely bouquet ! It truly lifts my spirits:) I will be so happy to get this next treatment under way.

I slept in TIL 7:00 this AM . Still finally got my 30 minutes of walking in after breakfast and cleaning kitchen.
Actually continued on and swept whole main floor. ( one weeks dirt) and cleaned bathroom as well. I put DH to work too. While I was doing wash and folding clothes and putting away- he made the bed , and put my containers cupboard in order in kitchen by matching up covers to appropriate containers. Big help.
So I see I have 6 lights lit on my Spark Tracker instead of 3:)
House is looking good. Who needs a cleaning lady? Actually DD has scheduled her gal to come later this month. I will have her do the upstairs bedroom and bath . To be ready for our CHRISTMAS guests.

Up at 5:30 again this morning. Did my 30 minute walk.
Good news-I have an appointment to check my recurring prolapsed condition at Scott and White hospital, in Temple Tx. 9:00 am Monday!!
That is great considering the WACO Dr. Couldn't see me TIL January!!!

Great going, Roberta! But hope you get over your muscle problems soon.
I cut back to 30 minute daily walks now instead of 90 as before-because I am getting a recurrence of the prolapse condition that I had surgery for in August. DD here in Texas took me to family DR this morning and he is getting me a referral to a specialist in Temple. Always something! But feel great otherwise.

Fitbit's weekly report this morning (for last week) gave me a total of 68,854 steps, averaging 9,836/day, and best day was 14,379!

This week did not started off well--been experiencing muscle jerks for weeks at night just as I am falling asleep and they jolt me awake! Did not get any info on how to get rid of them, but I do suspect it is a nutritional deficiency, so I took one "Active Senior" multi last night and slept well with only one mini jerk. Mayo diagnosed me with chronic insomnia--I was getting a double whammy!!! Things are looking up!

Stayed at great motel at Texarkana TX last night.
Got up at 4:00-did my 90 minutes this time of walking in motel room.
Then back to bed and alarm rang at 7:30.
Ate BR on the road in car-2 oranges from motel and egg and biscuit from McDonalds.
Where there is a will -there's a way!

Good going CUSH!
I find it is not so easy to get in and off of Elliptical either:)

I rode the exercise bike for 39 minutes this morning. It felt good. The hardest part was getting on the bike.

Stayed at nice hotel in Effingham , Ill last nite.
Set alarm and did 40 minutes purposely walking in Motel room. Before breakfast.
I was ready to travel when DD knocked on door!!.

This morning- did my 90 minutes of walking before breakfast. Finished packing car.
Had my dentist appointment at noon. DD and DH picked me up and we headed out with packed car for a Texas.
We are now going to be looking for a motel soon. . Just had a delicious dinner -got my vegetarian plate-at Cracker Barrell

Wow! great going CUSH, Roberta, Peggy, FAY!!!
You guys are amazing! You put me to shame!

But, I am trying to not miss my purposeful walking as we will be on the road for a few days- not much moving for me for a while!
This morning got up about 5:30 and had my 90 min. Walk finished by 7:00.

The remainder of my exercise was in assembling and packing today! Now that was work!!!:)

My tracker shows 5608 steps. Those steps are for grocery shopping and running errands. I did not do any structured exercise.

Today-baked another batch of Apple Muffins for DGS family-he is here to help with DD's computer problems.

Also walked my 90 minutes, 20 minutes at a time TIL last -then 10- but reached my 90 minutes, with 5 minute breaks!

10 LITES lit on Spark Tracker after walking.

Great going-both Roberta and CUSH!!
You both are really putting good effort into your workouts! I am proud of you!

I filled all the lights up yesterday on my Spark Tracker- which I had set at 7000 steps goal.

Today is another story, I am just now getting through baking HALLOWEEN treats all day plus cleanup, so haven't got started my purposeful walking yet.

Will report back later- if I do!
I still plan to get going. Just have to sit a bit first:)
I did it- I upped my walking to 90 minutes before the Goblins came to the door. 11 LITES lit!
201 kids and we ran out of treats!

Good going,Cush!

Today I didn't start my 60 minute walk TIL after 7:00 and was completed by 9:00.
8 lights lit.
On my Spark Tracker.

Then my other activity this morning was cooking up a dish for lunch.
I followed a recipe in DR. Bernard's cookbook. Saffron ,,asparagus and green peas.
These veggies are two of DH favorite veggies and here they were all in one dish!
Very good!

You are doing great.. I am happy too-got my steps in this morning and finally got all my lights lit-first time since my surgery! I had set it for 7000 steps and now have gone beyond that as oping is starting over:)

hi,

I'm afraid no formal exercise for me for the next couple days. I took a weekend trip with my daughter. out of habit i keep my tracker on today and it registered 7850 steps. I was shocked.

Tomorrow we will be in the car most of the day returning home so that was a nice surprise today.

Yay! Great news from Roberta! We are so happy you are back at it!!!

My day was quite different. 3 of Our Great grand kids were here all day. DD attended to them and we just enjoyed having them here.

My activity was in cooking and cleaning in the kitchen. I made a big pot of corn chowder for lunch for all and have several servings left over.

Now DD is about to return them to their own house and beds while another DD and her DH is about to arrive. I plan to serve them Corn Chowder too unless they have other plans:)

It is gorgeous here today and DH just gave the little ones a ride on the lawn tractor. They always look forward to that.

Glad to see you are all busy as usual.
Will talk later . Doubt if I will get my purposeful walking in today.

Well so much for not getting up early to do my Purposeful walking in house. Yesterday I was just finishing up my 60 minutes as DH trotted off to bed for the night. . But did finally finish up the walking but nothing else.

Today I got up at 6:00 and did it in 20 min. at a time with rests between. Yay! So great to get it over with:) early.

So glad to have your company, CUSH!

Welcome CUSH to the exercise thread! I am usually pretty lonely here so very happy you started here!
Good for you for finding a place to walking our neighborhood.. I used to do that too but for now I must stick to indoor walking.
Yesterday and today I not only got my 60 minute walk in-still 10 minutes at a time but I decided to try to get back to using some of my at at home tools too that have just sat there for so long.
Yesterday I used some 2 pound weights along with The Elliptical and stationary bike.
Today I just did the Elliptical 2 minutes and the stationary bicycle 2 minutes also.
I plan to add a minute a week. I know I have to build my strength back slowly.
Oh I was happy to see 8 LITES show up,on my Spark Activity Tracker . Not fully lit yet but getting there. :)

I applaud you Pat for getting an early start.

Thought I would start with the exercise thread since I am working so hard to be consistent in this area. I walked in the neighborhood park today for about an hour. The only time I can go there is on the weekends. During the week I try to take 2 or 3 15 minute walks during the day. I'm a work in progress as it is still a challenge to be consistent.

Spent my time in kitchen preparing healthy food for family.( 'Spicy veggie soup with kale' and another batch of 'apple walnut muffins')
