60 minutes of purposeful walking in the house- 15 minutes at a time!
Plus 2 minutes on the stationary bike.

Welcome CUSH to the exercise thread! I am usually pretty lonely here so very happy you started here!
Good for you for finding a place to walking our neighborhood.. I used to do that too but for now I must stick to indoor walking.
Yesterday and today I not only got my 60 minute walk in-still 10 minutes at a time but I decided to try to get back to using some of my at at home tools too that have just sat there for so long.
Yesterday I used some 2 pound weights along with The Elliptical and stationary bike.
Today I just did the Elliptical 2 minutes and the stationary bicycle 2 minutes also.
I plan to add a minute a week. I know I have to build my strength back slowly.
Oh I was happy to see 8 LITES show up,on my Spark Activity Tracker . Not fully lit yet but getting there. :)

I applaud you Pat for getting an early start.

Thought I would start with the exercise thread since I am working so hard to be consistent in this area. I walked in the neighborhood park today for about an hour. The only time I can go there is on the weekends. During the week I try to take 2 or 3 15 minute walks during the day. I'm a work in progress as it is still a challenge to be consistent.

Then getting myself prepared to start doing other things as well.
Got out my hand weights-1 minute
Got on the Elliptical-1minute
And then on the stationary bike-1minute.

So far only 10 minutes purposeful walking.
Spent my time in kitchen preparing healthy food for family.( 'Spicy veggie soup with kale' and another batch of 'apple walnut muffins')
Completed my 60 minute walk by 5:15!

Didn't get up TIL 7:00 thus morning but immediately started my purposely walking in house.
This time it was 6-10 minute walks ( I had a root canal done yesterday and wasn't up to 15 minute walks today). Know thyself is wise to follow!

I do not walk much now . No walks just for the sake of it but I walk to local places, I have stepped up on my home exercises , some standing some seated, I always put music on as I do my moments, I had a good dance music session this morning. The beat really helped me . We must keep moving ! Ree

DD called my specialist nurse at the doctors office I will see next week to see if I might resume my "purposeful walking " for short bits of time with my prolapse bowel issue .but she advised against it until after my exam. So back to lying on my side mist of the time!

Just my walking from my ---lying on my left side on bed to --either bathroom--- or to kitchen table and back again. I will be so happy when my condition is corrected by surgery-my first doctor appt. now is moved up to August 11th,( from SEPT. 11) thanks to my wonderful DD'S insistence on the phone.

Made our bed as usual , Prepared our own meals, did family dishes, cleaned kitchen, got several loads wash caught up, folded and put away! Baked shortcake biscuits from scratch.

I set my alarm for 5:45 again this morning to get a head start on my walking program.
Already completed 40 minutes. Just 20 more to go before breakfast and the rest of the day I count as " gravy" :)

by (9::00 am I have purposely walked 38 minutes and 2800 steps.
Had to stop for shower. DD is taking me to follow up appointment at doctors this morning.
(checking on my ashma and wheezing.) Remember my bout with pneumonia?
I was in the same boat as you Lois and Irene. Had lost my strenght overall and it has taken me several weeks of purposly walking to get my strenght almost back to normal. Still have a ways to go though.
I started out just walking 5 minutes at a time with 5 minute breaks between. yesterday I increased my walks to 20 minutes.. I can tell the difference in my gait too. Used to walk like a drunk:) Much steadier now. emoticon

Our family activity today consisted of visiting one more grave to decorate with a hanging basket of flowers. Now we have reached all family members.
Tomorrow I hope to get back to my purposely walking for 30 minutes.

You are going to love it. A great motivator to keep moving!

This morning I did my 20 minute walk in the house again before breakfast. I set the timer for 20 minutes and just made about 10 rounds of the house.. I must have paused a couple times somewhere because it only registered18 minutes on my Activity tracker chart but that's ok. :)

I am so happy to hear you have started your exercise program, Ree!
You are leading the way for Roberta and I!
This morning I woke up at 4:00 -so got up to continue my "Purpose Indoor walking "program.
I am adding one minute a day to my walks and my Elliptical
So completed 17 min walk and 7 min, Elliptical.
After that I assembled all ingredients for breakfast and lunch meals
Then went to my easy chair to nap til DH and DD woke up. :)
