Hi RIZ , Sorry I see I did a typo when I signed my name-It is Pat-not Pay:)

You are already doing the right thing by staying on target ,drinking your water, testing for your glucose and not skipping meals !

You have your hands full and it won't be easy but if you continue to take proper care of yourself, you will reach your other goals as well.

My only suggestion to you would be ,when you do get a moment, check out the Dr. Fuhrman or Dr. McDougall plans. Either one of these vegetarian lifestyles -along with moving more each day-will have you healthy and slim in no time.

Hi Pay - I am sorry to say that I didn't do to much with my exercises - I have been quite overwhelmed with "things to do" so I have made a real point of staying on target with my water intake and not skipping meds, and testing for my glucose. It has been showing good results but not on my weight! I'm trying to be very careful about what I eat so, under the circumstances, it's all I can do - but you give me hope! You have done marvels!.

I'm busy with prepping our beach house for summer rentals - quite a job since my dh can't help me much these days. We are also preparing for an overseas trip in another month and I'm just squeezing time out of thin air. I'm hoping to find a renewal In the last week of our return home as it will be in Hawaii with family we love. It's a job to prepare for a trip with a handicapped patient but it will be an incredible trip for this family patriarch. I just pray for the good Lord's blessings as we continue with our plans.

hi RIZ
Did you get a chance to try the seated EXERCISE program that you discovered from Spark people. If you can share with the rest of us, it could be helpful. I did seated EXERCISE back in Texas and really enjoyed them too. But we were in a class with a trainer guiding us.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Your hula class sounds interesting too.

I joined the 8 week diabetic challenge and found a wonderful seated exercise program video that Spark People offered. it is really worth pursuing.....I'm going to put it on my agenda for tomorrow's exercise. They have other exercise routines as well that address people who may have some limited abilities to do what they did in their 30s !!!!!

Your exercise DVD sounds great - does it require floor work?I have both knee replacements and have a LOT of difficulty getting up. I belong to a Hawaiian school and my doctor encouraged me to hula because it uses a lot of knee work. I love their worklouts. emoticon

I have found 2 wonderful DVD's from reading Sparkpeople posts-Stronger Seniors Stretch and Strength and Stronger Seniors Yoga from Anne Burnell.
