I made a great salad dressing today. I took some mix berries ( blueberries, strawberries and bosenberries mixe them in the blender and added white wine vinegar and just a touch of basalmic vinegar (1/4 tsp) . Its was great on my green salad. I can't wait to have it again.

I basically started making the salads in Eat for Health and have been very happy with them. There is a lot of variety in the veggies in them, and the nut-based dressings each have their own flavor.

One big motivator for me to eat a salad every day is that when I skip a day, then I often get constipated. So there IS a short-term reward, too, to eating raw veggies.

I guess that is one alternative for you. If you need a break from salads, eat raw veggies in some dip and get your fresh greens in a smoothie or wrap it around some hummus. Something like that.

The most effective health-care is self-care.

Nutrition is the prescription.

You can literally stretch your lifespan by shrinking your waistline.

Nutrition and other lifestyle factors that you can choose are a more significant determinant of your health than genetics.

What are veggie nuggets?

i put every veggie that I have in my salad, red peppers is my favorite, then theres cucumbers, yellow squash, carrots, cabbage, tomatoes, mushrooms and lots of greens. i also add some mixed nuts and seeds and beans


sometimes I eat some soup with my salad. Every once in a while I will put some veggie nuggets in the salald

Liven up that salad. Think outside the bowl.

Beans? Greek peppers? Red onions? Apples? Walnuts? Red Cabbage? Different kinds of lettuce? Or maybe NO lettuce? Grapes? A new salad dressing? Raisins? Craisins? Pomegranate seeds? Steamed veggies? Quinoa? Brown rice? Whole wheat pasta? Salsa? Served on top of a big baked sweet potato? Sautéed mushrooms? Served on top of a big baked portabello? Rolled in a whole grain wrap with some hummus?

There are so many variations on salad. Change it up before you get bored.

Hi everyone,

I am totally and completely salad-bored. Every day when I sit down to eat my leafy green, delicious salad, it's all I can do to take the first bite. After that, I'm generally fine

I'm just NOT a smoothie person, and the convenience of having a salad for lunch every day, and cooked greens and beans for dinner is un-matched.

What solutions do you have for this problem?
