I went to Spicy Pickle recently and had the most fantastic salad. It was called the Forest salad and had spinach, portabello mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, onions and hazelnuts with a balsamic vinegar dressing, served on the side. The small salad is 150 calories and the large is 300. Truthfully, the small is a huge salad. It was lovely!

I agree, restaurant prices are not cheap, even for just a salad. I'm not shy about telling them exactly how I want it made and I'm not shy about using my own dressing if they don't have any that's acceptable. I go to a lot of business luncheons where it's just a set menu, no choices. BUT, there is almost always salad and if I have my own dressing at least I don't leave too hungry.

I stay on my road and I don't change lanes.

Whenever I eat out I carry my own salad dressing with me. If they have one I can eat, great. If not, then I just use my own. Ken's has a fat-free Italian that I can buy in single serve packs, or I just take a small bottle in my purse. Can use on salad or on a plain backed potato.

I love Jason's Deli. I don't use any dressings. I use a spoonful of the Edamame salad and that flavors everything wonderfully. If I have fats left in my diet for the day, I add a few of those yummy kalamata olives and chop them up tiny to spread them around.

I think I need to make a Jason's run soon! Yum!

seems like a great place to go when i have to eat out...did so today and stayed on plan which i thought would be very hard at a restaurant...do yall have them and if so what dressing do u choose? or at any restaurant 9i have to eat out more than id like) i figure i can always be safe with a salad but should i steer towards more clear dressings? or should i be going towards the fat free ones? i know many wouldnt be "legal" but whats the BEST choice?
