Are you planning on doing any of the events at The Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon this year? Do you want to meet fellow Sparkpeople from all over who have come in for the race?
Some of you may be aware of the group in Pittsburg that started organizing fellow Sparkpeople into a team for their local half-marathon JASR (Just A Short Run). Well THIS year, they've set their sites on Cincinnati's Flying Pig Marathon! Right now there are over 20 people, including several SparkPeople staff members and coaches who are planning to travel to Cincinnati in May, and they'd LOVE for more folks to join them!
The details are still being worked out, but what we know so far:
- Sparkers are running and/or walking all different race lengths (for instance SP_STEPF and organizer SHEENADEE are doing the half marathon, I'm planning on the 5K, and there are several teams organizing for the relay races)
- a lot of the out-of-towners are staying at the Millennium Hotel downtown. It is sold out of its special Pig rate; but there may be other rooms still available
- several SparkPeople staff members / coaches including SP_STEPF and SPARK_COACH_JEN will be joining us for the race and more may attend the pre-race get-together
-An organized dinner or evening together is being planned; more details to come as that is finalized, likely on Friday evening
- Spark merchandise and prizes!
