For today, I have told my friends at church, that soon, I will not be supporting them anymore. The joke is, I'm the only one employed, so I supply their Social Security.

They were all pretty shocked, just like me.

I assured them, I am OK, and just maybe, I needed a nudge to wake up and retire. We find some younger person to invite to our coffee talks, to pick up the baton!

There is a guy in my little group of church friends that was in my grade school class 55 years ago. Now, that is probably pretty common in small towns, but at that time, we went to a Catholic school in Cincinnati, and now we live in the Columbus area, and go to a different church because of the people we married.

He's been after me to get a camper to finish my travel dreams, and if I could go with them on their trips, I would consider it. But, as a single woman, going off by myself in a camper is a bit intimidating, if not a little unsafe. It is amazing though, how many trips they do that I would find pleasant. The week, they are off to an RV show in the middle of Pennsylvania, He said he would get a bunch of flyers. They are definitely fun to go through.

If a job pops up, I will take it though. I really would like to have my grandson's college paid for and my condo paid for and the remodel paid for and the car that has to last through retirement also paid for. My 2016 target was good.

No moping. Remember, that nudge.

I have been dealing with the stress of my position being ended because of an IRS ruling since Tuesday, and typically, when my stomach starts hurting (usually because of a death in the family) I EAT. If there were bigger letters, that would be 3 times that size. I have prayed, I have calmed down, I have talked to my financial advisor who thinks a 66 year old who saved like a miser just might be OK to stop.

But most important, I told myself, I have a new lifestyle now. I don't EAT when things aren't going smoothly.

I weighed in as usual this morning and have lost 2 pounds this week. Holiday and Job loss. And, I'm on track.

So I feel GOOD!

Feeling pretty good, despite all the stairs yesterday. I was afraid that I might not be able to walk today after 21 trips up and down yesterday.

Wow, the walking every day and giving up the elevators at work 20 pounds ago have helped me tremendously physically.

I've been up the steps already this morning and was just fine!

Thank you SparkPeople for never giving up on us. You're there, we just have to come back to the fold!

I tried something different this week, and want to warn others not to do it. I made 5 salads Sunday night and ate 1 every day for lunch. I think it was a mistake to put the chicken in, as I felt lousier as the week went on. Today, I thought I had food poisoning as I was driving to Ohio U to purchase the fall books for my grandson.

So, salads probably need to be done fresh every day, and be careful with chicken. Lucky, I was spreading 6 oz. across 5 salads, or maybe, I would have felt a lot worse today.

OK now, though. That might solve how I was feeling mid week on!
