Downtown Seattle. I don't travel very much, but I have been to Seattle several times. I've yet to see half of what the city has to offer. I love almost every restaurant I've been to there, and there are so many more I would like to try. I also seem to adopt healthier habits while I'm there. I tend to eat better, fresher food, and I walk everywhere I go (and there are a lot of hills). In general, I just find Seattle really interesting, and I feel better about myself and feel better in general when I am there.

Wellington, New Zealand. I would love to visit as many sites as possible that were used in the making of The Lord of the rings trilogy and The Hobbit trilogy, including The Weta Workshop!!!

Oh my gosh - one spot is so not fair. My dream would be to spend that time traveling to so many places.

I guess I'd choose someplace in central Europe so that I could do lots of day/overnight trips to a variety of countries. I'd spend the whole time exploring, soaking in buildings, museums, and history. There would have to be a few beach days thrown in there too.

If I really had to choose one place and not travel from there... I got to go to Portugal several years ago and we stayed in this beautiful town in the northern part of the country. We were only there a few days, but it was one of the most stunning places I've ever seen. I bet I could spend a month there being a tourist and it still wouldn't be long enough.

I'm looking for my inner athlete, but I'm afraid I may have eaten her. If I'm very quiet I can hear her screams of terror.

I think I have to give another vote for my coffee maker.

I do use my crockpot and my indoor grill (like a GF grill, but not that brand) a lot - but not daily like the coffee maker.

I love camping. Never tent camped, closest was a pop up we had, but didn't have that long, moved to a fifth wheel quickly after selling the pop up. I enjoy camping in the fall, crispy weather and lots of beauty. I like sitting around the campfire, reading, eating :) and hiking. I like cooking outside, too. It's been years since we've camped in the fall, though... kids in school and all, so we normally go during spring break. The weather is usually cool, and we still enjoy doing the same things. Haven't been in years, tho.

I camped all over the place in a wide variety of situations and a kid and in college and even as a young adult. I haven't been tent camping since before my 8 year old was born though and I'm pretty sure that's ok with me. Hubby keeps saying he wants to, as for me I'll camp with ttleelee and beldame. Running hot and cold water is, in my opinion, the best thing about living in this modern day and age.

If by "camping" you mean renting a cabin at a state park, with a bed, shower, and toilet, then I'm in. Especially if there will be some fishing involved.

However, if you mean "sleeping in a tent on the ground and pooping in a ditch", then I'll pass.

I have to confess, I never enjoyed camping. I've only done it a few times, but I was always miserable - I hate bugs, I hate trying to sleep on the hard, unforgiving ground, even in Hawaii the nights were too cold for comfort (I only ever went when visiting my father, who lives on Maui). Most of all, I hated peeing in bushes. HATED it. -.-;; LOL.

We have not been camping in years. Can't afford an RV and well in a tent, both of us have defective parts of our bodies (hubby his hip and me my back) to make tent camping very agreeable!!! I DO prefer tents in a remote area by ourselves, something that has become increasingly difficult here now as it seems that all the land up north belongs to people, even the woods and most definitely any land near a lake.

My cowboy boots. At the moment I have 2 pairs. I have always loved walking around in cowboy boots since I was a teen. I find them incredibly comfortable, though, hubby doesn't agree with me, except we bought him a pair of Ariat roping boots a few years ago and he really likes them. I have a pair of Ariat and a pair of Boulet.

I have a pair of sandals that I'd wear year round if I could. I do wear them on winter weekends and I would wear them to work if I could. They are the most expensive pair of sandals I've ever owned (and possibly the most expensive shoes overall) but totally worth it. They are a brand that support my feet right where they need it, and since I've started wearing them my foot problems have lessened. They're not pretty, but they are fantastic.

Replying to yesterday's time-machine advice to self question:
I'd tell twenty-something me to go join a gym, weigh myself regularly, and that I will never, ever be able to eat whatever I want.
Then I'd show myself a picture of us at our heaviest, which probably would have caused younger me to have the vapors.
I'd also smack young me upside the head and tell her to quit screwing around, finish college (because this was back when a BA meant you could get a good job, and it didn't really matter what you majored in), and to also learn coding language.

"Contrariwise," continued Tweedldee, "if it was so it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic."

I have a pair of slip-on Vans with a pink and white skull pattern. They're so beat up that my socks show through the ripped material, but the soles are good so I still wear them.

And you'll get my Dr. Marten's when you pry them off my cold, dead feet.

I'd give myself lots of advice... same thing I tell my own kids now..

-establish healthy eating and fitness habits otherwise... (and I'd show myself a pic)
-stay away from credit cards
-choose a career that you enjoy, makes good money, and that you can do anywhere you'd like to live (I always felt I should have gone into teaching)
-move to a place you love. (for me that would be somewhere near a beautiful beach)

I would show high school me a picture of today's me and tell her to start changing her eating habits today, and to make a point to stay in shape after competitive swimming ends. I've always been lazy that way, but staying healthy would have been easier than trying to get back there now.

I used to love them, but middle age has brought an interesting vertigo-type thing that prevents me from going on them, or just about any other ride. I get the whirlies and throw up. Also they tend to aggravate my arthritis.

Hell, I have a hard time riding in the back seat of a car anymore!

I'll just head on over to the arcade and play some Pac-Man and skeeball, thanks.

I haven't been on one of these in over 40 years.......I use to love them, but I don't trust these things anymore and hubby just plain dislikes amusement parks.

The family loves to play Jok-r-ummy when we are all together. Personally I love Monopoly too, but I am the only one here. I also have a Lord of the Rings game, but no one wants to play it, they all find it too long and complicated.

I loved Gin Rummy in high school, a couple friends and I would play endless hands (yes, we were "those" kids) and in college I discovered cribbage - unfortunately I have no-one to play either with now. I'm afraid I've even forgotten how.

Little boy loves UNO so that's what we mostly play if we play cards at all, and we went through a Candyland phase that he's now outgrown.

3 tattoos and i plan on getting more when I can.
Just the ears pierced at the moment, but i have had a bunch before i became part of the medical field.

Eyebrow done twice
Lip done twice.
Tongue done.
Nipples done twice.

Its exhilarating, however unacceptable and dangerous it is in my business to have piercings lol Its basically an open wound, and i am a phlebotomist so i deal with blood every day.

I have 2 tattoos - both easily concealable if I need to. 5 total ear piercings, and a naval piercing. One of my great (but secret) goals in my weight loss is to be able to use that piercing again.

No tattoos, being a subscriber to the Thatcherism that it is unwise to wear one's heart on one's sleeve; one should keep it inside where it functions best.
Piercings: ears. Two functional in each, three closed in the right, one closed in the left.

We have 2 dogs (Aries and Shylo). Aries is 16 and I think not long for this world, Shylo is about 2 and a true wild child. He first year was spent in the home of a family who did a lot of yelling and her owner kept her in a crate (crate training is great if you use it right, he did not) so when he dumped her in our yard when he tired of her she had some serious issues to overcome. She is much better, but is still very skittish. Thunder doesn't bother her at all, but the tiniest little home fireworks put her in a mad frenzy. Aries we've had since he was a tiny pup that was abandoned on the street and hubby brought him home as a companion to our then 1 year old Zoos (now deceased).

We also have 3 cats. Jerrie was another rescue brought home by hubby (we lost her brother Mungo several years ago). If she were a person she would be labeled "learning disabled with behavioral issues". Since she's a cat I can just say that she is stupid and mean, but she's still my cat and that makes up for it all. We also have Goldenie and Chase (brothers rescued by the vet and offered to us for adoption as kittens when we happened to comment that we were thinking of getting our son a pet). They were neglected so Goldenie has food issues that will probably never go away, and Chase comes every night to listen to the bedtime story we read our son every night.

I'm looking for my inner athlete, but I'm afraid I may have eaten her. If I'm very quiet I can hear her screams of terror.

Had a series of cats (Edgar Allan Poe (EAP), Peliquin, Triffid, We Call Her Bernadette But Her Real Name Is Ralph (Bernie), etc.), but no longer have cats because the oldest son and the old man are allergic to them. (Chronic eczema/bronchitis/nosebleeds/sinusitis? Get rid of cats!)
Suits me; I can't stand the smelly buggers.
We had a carnival goldfish by the name of Goldie Milligan who lived for five years, followed by a baby red slider named Filbert, also deceased.

One beloved dog named Jake. He's a shepherd/lab/mutt mix that we adopted from our APL many years ago when he was approx. 8 mo. Unfortunately they didn't tell us at first that he had been adopted out previously - then taken away. I went back about a week later and told them all the issues I was having with him (not eating, diarrhea, vomiting) and THEN they told me about the previous adoption. Took a bit but he progressed so well. It also became apparent that he had been abused. Anyone who raised their hand, spoke a bit loud, rattled a newspaper, was a male, or said the 'F' word (I am sooo not joking!!) and he would run and hide! He's gotten a lot better over the years, but still jumpy with all those scenarios. Even after what he must have been through, he's been the most wonderful & loving dog I have ever owned. My hubs works a lot and my son is older and moved away so Jake & I are together a lot and I talk to him like a human and I swear he understands so much lol. His recognition of words is amazing. Don't even say the words 'ice' or 'cream' around him or he goes insane lol. He loves those Frosty Paws doggie ice cream cup treats. :) I know his time will be coming in the not too distant future and it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about not having him around! Cat - Frodo, 10 year old MaineCoon. Found in a barn 200 miles north of here. Farmer was going to drown him, but my daughter (who was camping up north) saw him and brought him home. He was about 4 weeks old. He is my big baby.

Dog - Shadow, 4 year old Lab/Golden retriever/Newfoundland mix. Adopted at the SPCA when she was 9 months old. She spent her first 9 months 10 hours in a cage every day!!

Horse - Montana Micoleo, registered Quarter Horse mare, 12 years old. We found her when she was 8, with an 18 month old filly at her side. She was only green-broke when we got her.

Treat the Earth well.
It was not given to you by your parents. It was loaned to you by your children.
