I took dance for 10 years. Within that were tap, jazz, ballet (hated ballet, so didn't do that for long) and gymnastics. I rocked tap and jazz pretty much. :) Wish I could have kept at it.

Piano and flute (but very little aptitude for either), Spanish (for like a month), one session of dance and a few years of gymnastics. By the time I was in upper elementary I had settle on swimming as my "thing" and everything else faded by the wayside.

While there is likely a song from every genre that I actually like....
My fave genres are: punk/pop punk/hard rock/metal
I love love love Fall Out Boy!!! also... My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Panic! at the Disco, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Nine Inch Nails, Alice Cooper, Steppenwolf, Kiss, Avenged Sevenfold, Paramore, old Van Halen, Evanescence, Linkin Park, just to name a few.

some that don't fit into the above genres:
I love Jimmy Buffett.... I reckon he's considered country these days, but I refer to it as island escape music. :)
I also love Imagine Dragons and Arctic Monkeys... what genre are they? Alternative?
Also Fleetwood Mac's and Stevie Nicks' older stuff... they aren't hard rock... soft rock maybe?

I like very little country, usually if I like it, it can cross the rock n roll border. :) some Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels, Hank Williams, Jr....
I like even less rap, unless it's incorporated into a terrific rock song...

Hmmmm, I do love what they call "Hot Country", the stuff that they play on Sirius XM's The Highway out of Nashville.
I do like Classic rock, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, , the Stones but their stuff from the late 60's early 70's. There are a whole bunch of other groups but I have a terrible memory.
I love Rush, Nickelback, Theory of a dead man,
I like some of the softer music today that have statements in them. (I usually hear them on 'So you think you can dance"!!!!!
I listen to classical also, but only when I am in the mood.
Speaking of 'In the mood, I love Glen Miller and other big bands.
I also like reggae a la Bob Marley
Soft Jazz, I love Sade,
I do not like Rap at least not what they call gangster style

I'm all over the place; it's probably easier to ask me which genres I don't like (R&B, rap.) I like hard rock of all types, particularly from but not limited to the 80's, but I don't care much for any of the new bands. ("New" to me pretty much means anything recorded after 2000, FYI.) Def Leppard (pre-Hysteria), Dokken, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Dio, Metallica (pre- And Justice For All, and nothing later.)
**(See that little diss of most of the Def Leppard catalog back there? It's true, but so great is the fan love of my inner thirteen-year-old that she yells out in a rage when I say those things, takes of her little union jack boxer shorts, balls them up, and throws them at me.)
I. Love. RUSH.
I like classic and outlaw country; dislike the stuff they play on country radio, but I like a lot of the new(er) quasi-grunge folk-country, a la Drive By Truckers, Shovels and Rope, The Cadillac Three, etc. The new Shovels and Rope album is AWESOME, btw.

I like big band (Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Perry Como) and the instrumental stuff from that era.

And opera. When I lay out in the back yard on a Saturday afternoon, I like to listen to opera on public radio and eat popsicles. The bonus is that many people find it unnerving.

"Contrariwise," continued Tweedldee, "if it was so it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic."

I have too many genres to even begin. My taste is pretty eclectic, I'm pretty sure I give Pandora seizures. There are days all it will play for me is Irish music (I once requested Flogging Molly) and other days I get folksy/blusey (Tracy Chapman). I have a soft spot for 80s hair bands, but in the 80s I was all about metal, the heavier the better. Plus I like some country thrown in for good measure.

I'm looking for my inner athlete, but I'm afraid I may have eaten her. If I'm very quiet I can hear her screams of terror.

Am I limited to just one? I'd also upload the ability to drive a tractor-trailer, just 'cause, and also the ability to speak German. Or latin. Or maybe both.
Also banjo-playing.

I do like animated movies. I watch a lot more than I would if I didn't have a kiddo, but even before he was born I liked them. My all time favorite is Little Mermaid, but I like so many others I can't even begin to make a list.

I am not generally a fan; however, if you really want horror:
Where the Wind Blows (1986)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090315/
Based on Raymond Briggs' book. Set at the end of the Cold War, pensioners Jim and Hilda live in the idyllic English countryside. Hearing reports that nuclear war is imminent, Jim prepares by building a shelter using Goverment pamphlets, thinking that it will be like ducking in to the Anderson during air raids in WWII. Jim and Hilda survive a nuclear blast, and wait for help that will never come.

"Contrariwise," continued Tweedldee, "if it was so it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic."

Let's just say that I wouldn't go to the theaters to see any, but with 3 grandsons and an overgrown son who happens to love these movies, I do happen to see quite a few. Favorites, Despicable me 2 (my youngest grandson, he's 3, is nuts for this movie and can watch it over and over and over again....) Escape from planet earth are 2 that I can think of, oh, and Brave....

LOL... I had the same idea with the phone... then again, I think I would like the solitude for a while first. :) I'd want some sunscreen, fresh clean water and a fully stocked Walmart, but no employees. LOL...

ok, how about a particular pirate, rum and sea turtles. emoticon

ok, for real... a machete, fresh water, and books.

A satellite smartphone, a solor panel, and a phone charger. I'd be able to call for help and then surf the net while I waited to get rescued.

A "how to survive on a desert island" how to manual - I don't have the first clue about picking coconuts, finding water and building grass huts. Gilligan would have kicked me off his island.

Shoes - because if I go without foot support for 10 minutes my feet hurt

A cache of books - because once I figure out how to survive I'm bound to have some downtime.

Of course I'd love to have my hubby and son with me, but I don't really wish for them to be stranded on a deserted island, so that's kind of a catch-22.

I'm looking for my inner athlete, but I'm afraid I may have eaten her. If I'm very quiet I can hear her screams of terror.

I used to paint, cross-stitch, sew (clothes and toys), quilt, crochet, can, draw, bake, decorate cakes (even did a few for moola) and woodwork. I currently don't do much other than watch movies and read. I want to learn to sail and get back to my painting and drawing... I miss doing that.

I've never really had what I would call a hobby. I used to swim, a lot, but that was a sport not a hobby. In college I carried a full load of classes and worked full time, so I suppose pulling all-nighters and being busy were my hobbies. As an adult I like movies and books and a few tv shows - but I don't really class those as hobbies either.

I tried scrapbooking for a while, but I just don't have the eye or the patience for it.

In the past: subversive cross-stitching, cake decorating.
Ongoing: gardening, flea marketing, piano, reading, writing/blogging, home improving.
Planning on: banjo-pickin', fishin'...possibly whittlin'.

I kind of liked high school. I did well, although not best... I partied too much! I really didn't participate in many extra curricular-wise activities, but I did like some of my classes... Science, Biology, Spanish, and English (which included literature) were my favorites.

Wow, now you are taking me back almost 45 years...... I was good in school, although I wasn't that crazy about it. My favorite subject being History and English. In my last year of high school I was in advanced English. their really wasn't a class set up for this, we were only about 10 students and we spent the year picking apart books (not literally of course)

I love condiments and relishes, too :) I normally turn to spicy mustard, real mayo, and horseradish sauce when making hotdogs, burgers and sandwiches. I also like dipping fries in either ketchup or horseradish sauce with lots of black pepper. BBQ is high on my list for dipping and many sandwiches and burgers, too. :)

Mine is March 10th and I'll be 50 next year. We normally don't do much, maybe go out to eat or the family will cook something special for me. I get a few cards from kids/hubby/close family. Sometimes I'll pick a gift if there's something I've really been wanting.... not always, tho, but when I turn 50, I think I'd like to get a new tattoo to celebrate. :)

Rarely. The old man is allergic; one sip and he pukes his guts and has to spend the day in bed.
I like a nice, dark beer now and again, and sometimes like to get the giant bottle of Chi Chi's premixed margaritas (although it takes me a year to finish it.)

Alcohol just makes me sleepy.
