On this day in Horror History, Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan was born in Mahé, Pondicherry India. Known by the surname of M. The mind responsible for such films as The Sixth Sense (1999), Signs (2002), The Village (2004), The Happening (2008), and Devil (2010), Shyamalan is a unique talent that continues to create some of the most thought provoking films of all time.

“When you say fear of the unknown, that is the definition of fear; fear is the unknown, fear is what you do not know, and it's genetically within us so that we feel safe. We feel scared of the woods because we're not familiar with it, and that keeps you safe.” - M. Night Shyamalan
