June 15, 2008 On this day in Horror History, the world lost Stan Winston. One of the most brilliant effects artists in cinematic history, Winston is behind such films as Aliens (1986), Predator (1987), The Monster Squad (1987), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996), and Iron Man (2008). Having designed some of the most iconic and memorable characters of all time, Winston’s vision is something that has blessed countless classic films and continues to inspire minds around the world.
“People who are afraid to go to horror movies are generally afraid their whole lives. People say to me, 'Do you have nightmares?' I never have nightmares! And I go to movies and see the most bizarre things in the world, and go... Wow that is really sick, how fun is that! And I don't have to carry it around. I think that's very healthy.”-Stan Winston Horror Central
I love his quote because I feel the same way!!! "Wow, that is really sick, how fun is that!" :)
