Cabin in the Woods was good - I really enjoyed it. There were definitely funny parts, and the overall theme is actually quite a cool idea. There are definitely some laughs but I'm not sure that I would class it with the others. Then again, now that I think about it maybe I would. It's not as blatantly funny as some of the others, but...

I'm looking for my inner athlete, but I'm afraid I may have eaten her. If I'm very quiet I can hear her screams of terror.

Loved Tremors, and Eight legged freaks and I have Cabin in the woods taped, but I haven't watched it yet.

Kitty, it's one of my favorite sub-genres and 8-legged freaks is also one of our go-to movies. :)

Jen, definitely bump Tucker & Dale... VERY good movie! :)

Haven't seen Cabin in the Woods yet.

I love comedy horror, and its such a hard genre to do. Shaun of the dead is probably my favorite, but I loved tremors. I haven't seen Dale and Tucker yet- in my que so I might have to bump it up. And, pretty much all of Syfy's I like (I even liked the tasmanian devil one-my mom kept it for me so I could see Apollo!)

I've heard Cabin in the woods is kind of similar-any one seen that one?

I am with the rest of you - love a GOOD comedy horror film. Have to admit I could never enjoy 8 Legged Freaks, though.

Ahh - the Dark Comedy! This is my FAVORITE form of horror. I love them all. Tremors was great (the sequels were fun). Shaun of the Dead was great and Eight Legged Freaks is one of my "go to" movies for a bad day. One that has not been mentioned that I just adore is Black Sheep!

Tremors is an all-time favorite of mine. The other movies in the franchise were okay but the first one is the best. I also enjoy: Shaun of the Dead, Tucker & Dale vs Evil, and yes, some of the Syfy movies - they are so bad that they are funny. Except for "Tasmanian Devil" that was absolutely horrible even for Syfy.

I love Tremors. In fact I may be a little over the top on this one. I have the whole series in my dvd collection and even liked the short-lived tv series on SyFy. I like funny with my horror, but I don't like all comedy-horror because not all of it is actually funny.

Tucker and Dale, Shaun of the Dead, Tremors, 8 Legged Freaks, and so many of the made for SyFy movies that are maybe not meant to be funny. Right at the top of my list is Army of Darkness, although the new one coming out doesn't look like it's got the funny quotient of the original.

I'm looking for my inner athlete, but I'm afraid I may have eaten her. If I'm very quiet I can hear her screams of terror.

Like this series. Don't like all the horror comedy movies.

Good morning!

Today's movie: Tremors

Are you a fan of those comdedy/horror monsters? I think they are on the lame side, but I really enjoy them. :) How about you?
