I have a few family member who have served in the military. While I'm always thankful for our military... on this day I do think about all those who gave their lives, and I feel a bit more patriotic and find myself going around singing that Billy Ray Cyrus son... Some Gave All.
Also today we went to visitation for the young woman, who's mother is my friend. She was killed in a boating accident this weekend. Very sad.

My father was killed in Vietnam when I was 7 months old. I just recently found out that he was handed his discharge papers 2 hours before his death. I mostly honor him today, but I visit all my families graves.
“Do not let your fire go out spark by irreplaceable spark... Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists.. it is real…. It is possible…. It’s yours. “ Ayn Rand (Atlas Shrugged)
My father served in the US Army with the 101st airborne. He was at D-Day and Bastogne. My uncle was in the Navy and was the Battle of Leyte Gulf. My son served in the Army for 8 years in Signal Corps. Wonderful stories all around. Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day!
My Father served in the Army during WW II. We remember him by taking flowers to his gravesite and cleaning up the area. My older brother served in Viet Nam while in the Air Force. I served in the Army (like my Dad). I am very proud to have served in the military, too. It is a unique experience and makes you appreciate all the military has done for us.
You can't wait for motivation to strike; sometimes you need to dig deep into yourself and find the motivation on your own.
