I have a few family member who have served in the military. While I'm always thankful for our military... on this day I do think about all those who gave their lives, and I feel a bit more patriotic and find myself going around singing that Billy Ray Cyrus son... Some Gave All.

Also today we went to visitation for the young woman, who's mother is my friend. She was killed in a boating accident this weekend. Very sad.

My father was killed in Vietnam when I was 7 months old. I just recently found out that he was handed his discharge papers 2 hours before his death. I mostly honor him today, but I visit all my families graves.

I will remember the friends that never got to come home. And my best buddy Jonsey. She remained in the Army after I left. She was KIA the next year in Afghanistan.

My grandfather served in WWI (he was rather old when he met my grandma). But most of my family have served in the armed forces, including my husband.

My father served in the US Army with the 101st airborne. He was at D-Day and Bastogne. My uncle was in the Navy and was the Battle of Leyte Gulf. My son served in the Army for 8 years in Signal Corps. Wonderful stories all around. Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day!

My Father served in the Army during WW II. We remember him by taking flowers to his gravesite and cleaning up the area. My older brother served in Viet Nam while in the Air Force. I served in the Army (like my Dad). I am very proud to have served in the military, too. It is a unique experience and makes you appreciate all the military has done for us.

You can't wait for motivation to strike; sometimes you need to dig deep into yourself and find the motivation on your own.

I tend to think mostly about the soldiers who have lost their lives on Memorial Day. Some loved ones who have passed, I think about everyday.

Its Memorial Day! Are you taking the day to remember someone you were close to? Someone in particular?

Today I remember many, known or or unknown to me, in my thoughts and prayers. it's a hard day for many.

Have a great day, be safe, and stay cool!
