Merry meet and welcome to path. I love the Perfect 10 diet. I think it is a very healthy way to eat right. I have started juicing again and find it works well with the Perfect 10.

That has to be rough being a professional baker and being diabetic. Bakery products are one of my down falls.

Brightest blessings and warm hugs.

emoticon I am a beginner on my Magikal Path and Sparkpeople. I am a diabetic so I am following a low carb diet. Of course I am a carb-a-holic and was a professional baker. I am going to check out the Perfect 10 Diet too. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. At this moment in time I am cravng bread. Argh!

I know after if have been following a diet for a long time I go through different cravings (i.e., want lots of sweets, salty, and fatty foods.) Bacon i am ok on unless someone is cooking it the odor really gets to me. Brightest blessings and warm hugs everyone.

I follow a mostly Mediterranean diet . I too love carbs. I try to be good. But love to bake so have curtailed a lot of that.

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it. For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

I don't follow a specific plan, but I've gathered a lot of the basic themes from various low-carb diets. Most of those emphasize low carbs (naturally) and higher fats. The science behind these formats makes good sense. I've lost a lot of weight following this (as well as I can!). I find myself craving bacon instead of sweets now! LOL

I still have issues with carbs, tho. I'm a carb addict. I suppose I'll never put that behind me!

Yes I also have borderline high cholesterol also I am obese even though I have followed a low fat diet for most of my life. I got a nook for christmas and downloaded this diet plan for free. I thought what have I got to loose? I have tried every other diet know to man or woman . As it turns out nothing but weight! I planning on seeing a doctor soon I will let everyone know my cholesterol levels. and sugar levels.

Very interesting, I sort of feel that way about fats too. I seem to have gained a bunch of weight after I was told to switch to fat free stuff to help my high cholesterol

This diet is similar to the Mediterranean diet, but is lower in grains, and this diet does not promote alcohol and this diet states that the Mediterranean diet it is too restrictive. This diets hypothosis is that it's the lack of natural fats that make you fat and " excess carbs quickly turn into sugar in the bloodstream."
No sugar, no polyunsaturated oils or trans fats, margarine no sodas diet or otherwise no caffeine, no artificial sugars.... I have hard time giving that on up.... for someone with a sweet tooth I thought this would be hard. I suffer from low blood sugar so I was always eating a lot sweets.
I eat fruits, vegetables, nuts, real butter, eggs, whole wheat bread, whole milk, oatmeal
I have lost 11 pounds since January 2 and although I have reduced my caloric intake...I am not hungry!

Never heard of the Perfect 10 diet. What does it involve?

Walking I think is one of the best exercises out there.

Yoga has always been my fav, and I always come back to it. Along with walking and running. The walking got started because my yard isn't fenced in and I have 4 dogs. Each gets a 20 min. walk daily along with all four getting a good run, romp in the creek, and just general exercise. Hey if I do it so should they. LOL LOL

I've always tried to stay active because to me that is what keeps me young. I REFUSE to be one of the old cranks at the center complaing about my health, or what I should have done. Nope not going to do that!! Here's another plus: Almost all of the members at the center were never active in their youth, they have either had hip replacements or knee replacements. With all the exercise I do, my doctors tell me I have no chance of either surgery, plus I'm less prone for a fall.

I have never really tried any of those. They are to intense for my back and knees. I find sticking to calories and walking to be my best tried and true measures.

Now I have your attention, I thought we could discuss what type of diet or fitness program each of us have used or using, what we think of it good or bad, and what might we change about it to make it better. I thought this might help us all figure out what works for us to succeed in reaching our goals this year. So let us know. It is a good time to sound off about these programs.

I am looking at the 28-Day Boot Camp DVD and would like to hear what you think about it.
