Sarah- thanks for the links! I think that's such a kool idea with elven writing for tats, gives me more ideas :) I've been searching for some kool kanji writing as well that I could incorporate into my future sleeves.

As for myself, I plan on getting quite a few works done, 2 full sleeves and a backpiece, then some more on my leg. It works out for me as my current job is okay with tattoos and aren't prejudice against them (I work in a plastic factory), and I'm working on practicing to become a tattoo artist in the near future. I will probably start my apprenticeship next year sometime...

Now, see, I want everyone to see my tats! The problem is, I always pick place that are usually covered.
Which is what I need to do anyway. I'm only 22, and I haven't decided what I want to do when I grow up, but usually it involves children. I don't want to be covered and freak out kids or parents. But I would so be the coolest kindergarten teacher ever!
But after mine were all healed, I went out and bought new shirts that showed them off! And wore them to my son's kindergarten orientation. :P

Welcome :) Oh trust me you'll get addicted hehe. My problem is that I don't want tattoos that are visible all the time, so I keep them in places I can cover. (leg and back) and show when i want. the only thing that is noticable looking at me is my eyebrow ring and my nose ring (and a few in my ears). but i wear my hair down almost everyday which covers my ears and my eybebrow

Well, the 69 would be great somewhere that you could choose to show it or not - - due to the normal response to it.

I love the stars and the constellation idea! I am cancer too but I definitely would hesitate doing the 69 symbol for it just because of the hassles of explaining to some folks just what it is a symbol for (other than the common definition for your average "joe").

That's cool - must have been sore right on your ankle bone though!!

I'm thinking abut getting mine on my back - up between my shoulder blades think I'll just show my tattoist the constellation and let him design something for me....he just did a fantastic map of scotland on my BF calf and it is amazing.

thx for the link, I'll check it out.

By the way, I don't mind the "69", as long it's not on public display :)

Hey everyone

I have three tatt's currently - elvish writing on my right foot, a celtic knot on my right shoulder (top of arm) and a hedghog on my lower left back/hip (silly, silly idea when I was younger - looking for something to cover it up with mow!!).

I have already booked in for number four - that's more elvish writing on my left foot to complement the right foot and I have an idea of what I want of number five, something to do with my starsign, possibly the constellation as I can't see me with a crab or '69' symbol (imagine the jokes!!) and I always wanted stars and this would be personalised stars I suppose.....

VELLE liking the new team pic - love kat she's a sexy tattoed lady that rocks!!! You're new tattoo looks great so far, will look awesome when finished I bet!!

FAZZNET - I have my name in elvish on my right foot (pic on my page) and my next tattoo (booked for the 26th - can't wait!!) on my left foot will also be elvish script.

I translated the words myself, go here to find the alphabet:

www.starchamber.com/paracelsus/elvis
h/
elvish-in-ten-minutes.html

Go here and you can get tengwar cursive font (the font on the ring in LOTR):
www.mythicalireland.com/art/wallpape
rs
/fonts.html

Once you download the font install it on word and you will be able to type out your chosen word (it's a bit fidly as you need a copy of the alphabet to hand and also a copy of the keymap - I just kept three screend open and toggled between them to see what I needed)

VELLE_G, that tattoo is awesome!!!! Well done! I like the wings as well! I'm thinking about wings as well.

I'm living on a tight budget these days, so I definately don't have money to spend on tats/piercings :( The good new is, if I save some money every week, I can spent that on a tattoo. Then I truly deserved it :)

My boyfriend doesn't particulair like tats, but he came up with a great idea: white wings! So I'll check some shops/Google to see how that will look and ofcourse what it costs :)

Great plans everybody! Keep on posting those pictures!

It's my life, don't you forget!

I don't have a plan for getting more work done eminently but will eventually. I will get a nurse Cherry tat on my leg when I lose some of my weight, that is my reward.

Thanks for love ladies on both my tat progress and our team pic. I think that's a great idea in changing our pic, maybe every month? It would keep things fresh :)

Charie I also work 12hr days/nights - when are you getting work done?

I agree about the money being an issue, if I had the money, I would be able to get all my tats done by this summer! I wish I could win the lottery :) I plan on getting 2 sleeves and a backpiece, plus another one on my leg...so i'll have to settle for spreading it out over a period of 2-3 years...sigh.

I think the pic of Kat is really awsome. I am not a big fan of her show but that is one good pic and she does have some nice art. Vel, I love your piece and the rose is awsome. I have to get my rose and tats on line. I work 12 hours a day the next 4 so will defer that project till thursday. Have a wonder day and week, keep pluggin' emoticon ,Charie

Yeah unfortunately money is always the issue. I have lucked out with my guy in that I have been able to barter some ink time which has helped. Otherwise I save up my pennies, figure out stuff I can sell ebay wise, and go about twice a year. My kids both ask for ink time for Christmas and birthday gifts which works for me (and makes it much easier..lol).

Hey - ex RN here myself! I do have bad veins in that I have had sooo many draws since I was little. Have had rheumatoid arthritis since I was 2. So basically my right arm I havent been able to get a vein off of in the last 10 years. Left arm I can only get stuck in the antecubital spot. Thing is if you have all that color, it makes it hard to see the smaller ones - at least according to the IV nurses and most of mine aren't easily palpable. I have a monthly iv med I do and sometimes I will get someone who shudders at the idea of using my token vein and want to go looking down lower. I laugh and humor them - they always end up back to the one vein.

Hey you must not be too conservative - you have some tats AND considering a pin up girl..lol.

Hi Tat Sparkies, Kierae I'm and Rn and the sleeve shouldn't cause problems with IV's, unless you have bad veins to begin with. Usually I feel the vein rather than see them. My son is totally covered, I can hit a vein on him without a sweat. I will have to post my tats. My two sons and I have a rose on our left foot, sort of bonding thing I guess. I have Celtic art on my right ankle and want to get a pin up girl over there as well. Have to see where it goes. I'm 58 and a little conservative at times. I love the tats tho! emoticon

Try anyway.

Your sunflower and butterfly tattoo plan sounds great! Good place for it too - looking forward to seeing the pics. emoticon

I am going next week and getting a new tattoo. It is going to be a sunflower with a butterfly feeding at it, going on the outside of my right calf, with the end of the stem starting at my ankle and the bloom ending just below my knee. This is going to be my first color one too. I can't wait!

The next one after that is one that I am doing with my brother and sister. I am getting our initials on my the inside of my right wrist, SCSJ, and MOM on the inside of my right wrist.

Those are the ones for sure after that I have vague ideas but nothing definite.

Have to save for the big ones though, quality does cost. But I would rather pay more then get a crappy tattoo.

The plan is to get as close to halfway done as possible, may only a quarter, as my tat guy is a perfectionist just like me :) Quality is #1. I will most definitely post pics -it's pretty much one of the more exciting things going on in my life right now hahah.

Lol those are things you never think about. The medics had so much trouble finding my father's veins, and he hasn't one dot of ink on his body. I hope he didn't bless me with that too.. Although I don't think I would get a sleeve, it's a bit too much for me :)

I like the idea of a little tattoo, the hip area would be suitable for this :) I already Google like crazy to find any neat ideas :)

I love your charm bracelet idea. I love the hip idea too - least you can see it (versus say the lower back area). I think I make my docs and nurses shudder now when it comes to where my next tattoo is going to be. Things we don't think about: lower back tattoo covers the area where epidurals are given which sometimes can cause issues. Ditto with sleeve work - I have my left lower arm sleeved and my poor iv nurses whimper. You can't visualize the veins when they are covered in color and if you have poor iv sites to begin with - it becomes more complicated. I have one spot to draw and do IV's off of on that arm. I have none available on the right arm. Makes life interesting!

In another topic I already told about me wanting a charm bracelet tattoo. Where I can add charms too as a reward for achieving something ;)

Today I also found elvish tats (LOTR style), that really rock. I would love to get my first name (Bente) in Elvish. But ofcourse I have to find something who can actually write elvish lol.

I would love to get a tattoo on my groin (is that how to say it?), but not sure yet what to put there. Or just around the hip area. Of course this will be the ultimate reward tattoo for when I have a flat tummy. :) So I have at least a year to think about it lol.

It's my life, don't you forget!

I think my leg one hurt (calf area) because it is more muscle based (well what puny muscles I have..hehe). The leg just felt bruised for a week! Whereas my arm area had some ouchy spots during the actual inking (tendon and elbow area) - it didn't hurt at all while healing.

I'm going to get my next tattoo as a reward when I get below 200 pounds. I haven't decided what I want yet, though.

The piece on my leg hurt the most, but only when he was doing it close to my ankle. Ouch!

Everybody I have talked to (including my tat artists) have said ribs suck the most pain wise. I am wanting to do one in that space of hips to ribs myself. Pondering some flowers/vine work asian style to go with the rest of mine.

I need to go in and get my memorial tattoo on my leg finished up - its finishing up the healing process and definitely healed up much lighter. He said he just had shading to do but at this point he is going to have to go over it quite a bit. Tell you what - that leg piece hurt much more than my entire half sleeve.

I still plan to have a heron done - looking at placing it on back of my shoulder area. And I still need to start my other half arm sleeve!

The guy who did my sleeve is really talented and has the eye for details. But he is currently being a derelict and a bit of a flake. Right now I don't even know if he is staying in the state so I don't dare start the other sleeve. I am working with another one of the artists in the shop right now with the leg piece - I like him alot (personally) and he does asian style beautiful BUT he can't match the fine detail work. So I may be looking for another individual for the other sleeve if my guy leaves the state.

I'm gathering reference pictures for my next tattoo, which will be a dancing goddess... or the Goddess dancing, not sure which yet.

A women is often measured by the things she cannot control.
She is measured by the way her body curves or doesn't curve, by where she is flat or straight or round.
She is measured by 36-24-36 and inches and ages and numbers, by all the outside things that don't ever add up to who she is on the inside.
And so if a women is to be measured, let her be measured by the things she can control;
by who she is and who she is trying to become.
Because as every women knows, measurement

I plan on getting a tat in a week!!! I want angel wings on my right foot.. I have a symbol that looks like a devil the way that I see it. So the wings represent the good in me. I also want to get my rids done.. But they tell me that it is the most painful place to put a tat..
What do you all think about that??

Stop talking about it and be about it!!

I plan on getting 2 full sleeves and a backpiece -need to save up for it though -sheesh, tats are getting quite expensive nowadays...

Let's keep this thread busy!
