Those are great ideas.
Also soup. I make homemade soup on the weekend. I warm up a portion in the morning in the microwave and take it with me in a thermos (no access to a micro at work).
Same thing with any leftovers from the previous night's dinner. Casseroles, etc...
In a pinch, I bring a hard boiled egg, some celery sticks and peanut butter, and miscellaneous chopped veggies, and a piece of cheese. It's like a veggie tray in my lunchbox...
You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.
