Late yesterday we learned there's just one more HUGE hurdle to clear...
The State of MO Employment Office needs to clear him to receive unemployments benefits, which is apparently a requirement to be eligible for this free program.
Novena to St. Joseph the Worker also well under way.
So, again, we pray for HIS divine intervention in accordance with HIS will. If not this opportunity, that HE may open another door -- or even a window -- to another great prospect. At the very least, just shed a bit more brightness on Jeff's spirits and hope that our family situation returns to some sort of normalcy.
Thank you all again! I truly appreciate all you prayer warriors and do feel you lifting us up in this time of need.

Thank you all for your prayers. Here's an update...
Monday Jeff got word that he's been accepted into an education program through CAIT at Washington University in St. Louis. The best thing is that it may be completely FREE OF CHARGE, including books and parking.
It's a training program for IT professionals who are between jobs. Sponsored by 40 local major corporations hosted by the Engineering School at WashU. It offers technical training to promising individuals so they may gain the skills employers are seeking most in an IT candidate.
There's just one last hurdle to clear, then Jeff will be starting the classes in two weeks. The .NET program track he'll be earning ends Nov 30.
Then it's just a matter of time before he finds a new job using his new certification in .NET application development. He was told that the fulfillment rate is extremely high for this new programming computer skill.
Needless to say, we are thrilled at this news!

I will pray that you find God's path not too hard. I found work with my niece helping her with her twin daughters when I had been looking for work at stores in San Antonio. We propose and God disposes. I hope you find income soon.

UPDATE: Kirk, our 7 y/o son, is full of emotions after hearing this news. First he cried and then ran into the backyard to be alone. It didn't take him long to come to grips, just like us.
Last night and today he's full of ideas on where he'd like his daddy to work next. Target and ToysRUs are on the top of his list. Imagine that!!

You both have a wonderful attitude. It will come through when you share the news with your son. DO let him know that you're all in this together and that there will be fun family times even with little 'output' of money involved. Check out your local family magazine if you have one...there are often great leads for free or lowcost activities! Maybe your local parish has job fairs and/or help with resume' work, etc. Prayers for successful and even better employment!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
Back on May 1, Feast Day of Saint Joseph the Worker, my dear husband, Jeff, and I began praying about his unfortunate employment situation. This morning, just three months later, he was laid off from his job of six years as a computer programmer at Edward Jones.
Those prayers carried us this far and we know they will lead us to bigger and better things. We are believers that when God closes one door He opens another.
What I'm asking of you Prayer Warriors is for: 1. any contacts you may have for job openings, especially in the Information Technology industry, and 2. your prayers that he finds employment soon and that God graces us with the right words as we share this information with our 7 y/o son, Kirk.
Thank you all for lifting us up in prayer!
