This gives one something to think about...
When we go through the boiling waters of life, if we hold on to God, we will always come out different...and always be better in the end.
Sometimes we are like the carrot, and God uses the water to soften us so we can be molded to His plans. Look what happens to a mashed carrot that is mixed right and becomes a beautiful souffle!
An egg may be fragile, but there are times when we need to be hardened so we can stand up to the work we must do. God's love is like the egg's outer shell... it protects us as The Spirit solidifies within us (as the outer heat rises), and we come out shaped so as to be used in many ways... perhaps a salad, or sliced to add beauty as a garnish, or to bring joy to a child at Easter!
Coffee beans emit the "odor" of what is inside even before put into the water... do we emit the Love of God? When adversity comes, does the perfume of your inner spirit "flavor" the water you've been put in? Do you hold your shape, yet change the circumstances? Can any passerby "smell" the aroma of God's Love and drink of it by being in your presence?
My prayer is that I can see myself in all of these examples and use what I learn... what wisdom the grandmother had! How gently she teaches!
But then Our Lord taught this way, too!
Step into the unknown with confidence! Trust that in the darkness of that first step there will either be something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly!
