My mother is 86, a republican, lives in a retirement facility--and is thinking of volunteering to make phone calls for Obama. I know she'll at least go vote for him. I told her I was VERY proud of her! Unfortunately she's in pretty solidly democratic Lancaster County (or at least I think it is). (I live in VA--so I'm not positive about that). What about the Kerrys? Doesn't John Kerry's wife live in PA? Is she out doing any speech-making for him? Obama made the keynote address for Kerry's nomination. I would hope they would do what they can in return.
May the roots of suffering diminish. May warfare, violence, neglect, indifference and addictions also diminish.
May the wisdom and compassion of all beings increase, now and in the future. --Pema Chodron
I am also form Philadelphia and I am ready to hit the streets for Obama! This weekend I will be registering voters and canvassing my neighborhood. If any PA team members want to help out, just visit my.barackobama.com and search for events near you.
We can make a difference, YES WE CAN!!

How can you plan for the future when you are living in the moment?
I'm new to this team. I'm ALL FOR OBAMA!!!!!! This picture is my daughter, niece and nephew taken at the IL State Fair 2 years ago. My sister introduced Senator Obama to the crowd. We are HUGE fans of his. After he gave his speech, he pushed past all the photographers and signed autographs for all the kids and took pictures with all of the kids BEFORE he spoke with the media.
That is his regular practice. This is a man who believes in our future - our children.
According to the polls (and we all know how accurate those can be) Clinton has a slight majority in PA...and a lot of analysts are saying she'll probably win it because its a lot like Ohio in population makeup...but as we've also seen...just because you win a "big" state like Penn, Ohio, and Texas doesn't mean you are going to get a huge number of delegates. The one thing I'm worried about with Penn. is that it might shore up the popular votes for Clinton. When this gets to convention one thing they are going to be looking at is who has the popular vote more than who has more delegates (Dems don't want to be responsible for another 2000 Florida where the winner is announced based on delegates rather than the popular vote). So here's to hoping Pennsylvania can pull this out for Obama!
For want of a nail, the shoe was lost. For want of the shoe, the horse was lost. For want of the horse, the rider was lost. For want of the rider, the battle was lost. For want of the battle, the kingdom was lost. And all for the want of a horseshoe nail!
