The designers stage showed how they create wedding bouquets and centerpieces---but I will say that I would never chose what they did and did not like the bouquets---the centerpieces weren't bad---but they were just using tropical and doing things outside the box---but I will say the first one he did was UGLY.
I did get tired of the tropical theme in the main displays---the only one really different was the waterfall one which I did like---the tropical flower arrangements were very different and I did like them. And I prefered the displays that included tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths---I like color in with my green. Interesting use of bird of paradise in the arrangements and I did buy my mom some of them. The windowboxes using tropicals---mostly succulents were interesting---but again, needed more color. I loved the playful child oriented displays.
I think I will prefer next year's theme over this year's. I will probably do a picture blog this weekend as I took lots of shots.

You tell us. Was it anything interesting? I know two of the show's exhibitors were getting married. But I don't know what else was planned.

Wednesday is "wedding day" at the Flower Show. Should be interesting.

Oh, I think I like next year's theme much better than this year's---I like British gardens--not so much the tropical flowers I know I will see on Wednesday.

Well, the television preview show went great. We had nearly 3,000 people viewing the web page live during the broadcast, voting on the arrangment competition as it happened. I hear next year will be something having to do with London, in honor of the Olympics. Should be interesting.
The Philadelphia Flower Show continues all week. Check it out if you can.

If you've been around this team for a while, you know I'm very involved in the Philadelphia Flower Show each year. Well, this year the theme is "Hawaii: Islands of Aloha". One of the new things we're doing for our television coverage this year is that while the Flower Show Preview television show is on the air (live, at 7pm on Saturday night) we will be streaming the show live on the web, so you can watch it anywhere in the world. In addition, we will have a live floral designers competition going on. If you go to our website at WPVI.COM and watch the show as it airs, you can also watch a live competition between designers, putting together arrangments. You can vote for the best one, and even chat with people at the Flower Show live about what's going on. It is a unique opportunity to be a part of the Philadelphia Flower Show, the largest flower show in the world, right from your own living room, no matter where you live.
The main hall exhibits have been under construction all week, and things look amazing. I'll will try to bring my camera and post some pictures tomorrow night, in advance of the show on Saturday. So you can see some of the exhibits before anyone else can :)
