You can always count in kids for honesty. I have been feeling light and joyful since I managed to lose 7 pounds over the past 2 and a half weeks. I announced to my 15 year old daughter "Look! I lost 7 pounds!". Her reply? "It doesn't show." I was a bit annoyed but quickly realized that she is right. If I look in the mirror it really doesn't show but I sure can feel it -- especially in the way my clothes fit. I am looking forward to losing enough so that "it shows"!

Congrats on sticking with your plan and losing so much. That's awesome!!

I'm in need of a massive kick in the backside to get my exercise and food choices back on the right track. This weekend was so busy and I was so tired that I didn't care enough to do what I knew was the right thing. I'm feeling it now, though.

It's never easy to explain my new healthy life to people who have seen me eating VERY unhealthily for so long... especially while on vacation. Just trying to explain that my vigilance has gotten me down over 60 pounds so far this year, and it will continue to help me lose in the future.

That's awesome! I hope you have lots of support - and that others are inspired to be more healthy, too.

We've still got to get our tree up and get moving on getting decorations up. We were out of town last week and that's thrown our schedules off.

Good morning moms!

It's been a busy week. My wife, son, and I are heading to Disney World next week so we're trying to get everything in order. It'll be the first time my son and I have been to Florida - let alone Disney - and we're pretty excited!

Does anyone else have any plans for Thanksgiving week?

Good morning! I wanted to pop over and say hi and introduce myself. My name is Cheri and I used to be a leader of this group. I lost all my motivation and drifted away from SP. Back in January, I decided I needed a fresh start so I set up a new account and got busy. As things tend to go for me, my motivation lasted a couple of months and then that was that. Well, I'm back, dammit! I'm feeling good and getting back on track.

I hope to be able to connect with other moms and, together, we can support each other and stay motivated.

And Holly - what a great story!

Hi moms!!

Just wanted to share a quick story from this weekend. We don't have a lot of other LGBT friends, so this was new to me!

We went to Iowa this weekend to visit my partner's family. Her cousins have kids our daughter's age and they are the only real thing she has to cousins - so we just call them cousins. Anyway, our six year old was invited to have a sleep over with them (they have 6 kids - two of the boys she is smack dab in the middle of their ages so they REALLY get along great) anyway... their mom told us when we went to pick up the next day that they were discussing something and she said "my moms" and the seven year old finally caught on and said "wait, you have TWO MOMS?!?!?!" and Heather was really proud and said "yeah!" and he was VERY jealous.

I am so proud that even though our family isn't the "same" as everyone our little girl knows, she is very proud of who she calls family and has no problem talking to her friends about us and standing up to any one who has told her that it is not possible to have two moms (which she has been doing with no problem since she was 3 and it happened the first time). Not only that, but she has other kids jealous of our family. I mean, who wouldn't want two mommas!?!?

Well, it's not quite fall yet, but it's getting close! My son starts kindergarten on Monday, and he's our first so it's quite a milestone.

Hope you all have had a great summer. I had great plans to lose a bunch of weight, and while I did move my body more, my caloric intake kept up so there wasn't much loss.

Now that the school year is here I feel more motivated again, and since I visited some friends this summer who were doing a keto (like Atkins) diet, I thought I'd try something similar since carbs are the highest in my calorie intake.

Thanks to the new gals who have stopped by, and thanks Jo for the drop-in, I will definitely send you a message to check out your FB group!

Look forward to see you around,
Koshkalet (Beth)

Hi there.. just wanted to say hi. Haven't been in here in a while. Seems like I spend most of my time on FB in those groups. I created a group on FB and thought if anyone wants to join me there that would be cool, ladies only, just a fitness/health/support group. Let me know. Pop me a message. Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to everyone. I live in the South with my wife of 7 years. We have 3 children, one of which is off to college. Both my wife and I have a ways to go with our weight loss, but we're in it for the long haul. Luckily all of our kids have always loved raw veggies and fruits so the new eating lifestyle hasn't bothered them at all. Can't say the same for me. Giving up my dairy fix and my carb cravings has been rough, but it's a little easier this week than last. Well, if you get a chance, please stop by my page or drop me an email to say "Hi". I'd love to get to know moms like me!

Hi, everyone. I'm looking forward to Summer, too. I'm taking every other Wednesday off (on the weeks I have my daughter), to do fun activities. We're going to the beach next Wednesday to kick off her Summer vacation from school.

Summer's on it's way!

Hope everyone has had a great Spring. I had a good day today and was able to make it through a whole Zumba class, my first in over a month. I'd done a couple of classes but only made it 1/2 way through before getting too tired. Felt good to get back to Zumba full-strength!

Does anyone have any big plans for the summer? We'll be spending a lot of time outdoors this summer and I can't wait!

Here's to a healthy and happy summer!

Happy Spring, Everyone!

Holly, so great to hear from you and congratulations on 21 pounds (and counting!) and for encouraging your little one to go forward with healthy steps.

I've had a pretty good spring, but am still working on my goals for the year and realizing how great it can be to re-trench. We did almost a week at Disneyland, and overall I did great on vacation but found that *after* vacation I was more off-track at home.

Does anyone else have any re-trenching stories? Inspiration comes from all of us as a team!

Best,
Beth

Hi ladies!

I have not been as active as I want to be, so this week I am working on that!

I have lost 21 pounds this year so far (and counting!) and I couldn't be happier. Here's the thing about it, I really, REALLY want my life back and I am excited to do that.

Last year, we have worked really hard to get our daughter more active, too. She is five and we don't want her to follow her her mommies' paths of weight gain.

So that's a brief update about me. How is 2013 looking for all of you?

Sorry to not help you decide, but I'd vote for veggie beef! Whatever you cooked I hope you enjoyed your dinner.

Got to the gym today for a workout on the elliptical - I like Zumba better, but 350 calories burned is still worth it!

Hope you all are having a great week. It's been a while since we did a mini challenge on this board - any suggestions (in the past we've done # of veggies in a day, getting to up to 2 minutes on a plank position, etc.)?

Way to go LookinHealthy - that is so awesome that your teenager is changing his habits, too!!! emoticon Sorry about your honey crisp, though. Have you tried an apple called (I think) Arkansas Black? So very, very tasty.

I ate a salad with lunch today and my 3 year old wouldn't let me alone until I gave her some :) Also, yay, my wife got a ton of veg at Costco, so it'll be a great challenge to get through it before it goes rotten!

Keep it up - so excited to have this board humming again, thanks to all the newbies!

Best,
Beth

Hey everyone! Its been a while since I've checked in here. I've lost about 14lbs which I'm excited about. I've been trying to get in at least 30 mins of workout time a day. Over the holidays I surprised myself by skipping over the holiday goodies. I hope you all are doing well. Have a great new year ;)

Happy December!

So great to hear from you Jo - sounds like you are doing great!

I've lost about 2 pounds so far this December and did a 1 week streak of over 5 hours of exercise, which feels great.

This week I'm going to stay below 1500 calories 5 days this week and still get in 3 hours of exercise!

Keep up the great work everyone!

Hey,

What are you all up to? Happy Thanksgiving, well, even though it is over. What are all of your goals for the holidays? Any plans so not to gain those extra pounds?

I am continuing my current regiment. I started Insanity over again, a new round of it and my clean eating of course. I love Shakeology so that always helps me keep the cholesterol down, the energy up and the weight low. Love that stuff. Also, now with the new baby I have not been able to eat that much during the days so sometimes that is my healthiest meal.

Well, I hope you are all well.

Take care,
Jo

Happy Fall, Everyone!

While I've let a little weight creep back on, I'm jumping back in to seeing what changes I can make to keep a positive momentum going.

So, my challenge to myself this fall is to eat *no* Halloween candy. So, I've been on a candy-free streak, and I'm up to day 8. My goal is to make it all the way to one week past Halloween (by which time I figure most of the Halloween candy will be out of the house).

What challenges are you giving yourselves these days?

Best,
Beth

Here we are - start of school! Hope everyone is having a great start to the school year and that the transition is going smoothly.

Our 3 year old daughter has taken to preschool like a fish to water - it's as if she'd always been there! Plus, as a bonus, our almost 5 year old is really happy with his new teachers.

On a personal note, took the kids out for a rare lunch treat including a milkshake, and I did *not* drink the whole thing, I shared a bit with the kids, decided I'd had enough and then left it alone. Also, my daughter didn't finish her lunch and I left it alone - wooHOO!

Anyone else have success stories they want to share?

I guess everyone must be having a fantastic summer - since it's been pretty quiet here!

Just did some summer fun myself today - blackberry picking with the kids - yummm.

Can't believe that next week our kids start school. How is everyone gearing up for the fall?

Hello all! Happy August!

Great job on the pedometer work, Tangled! Really bummed to hear about the babysitter - that is just super awful. Best of luck finding a new babysitter that is clean and sober and respectful!!!

I'll be doing my virtual 5K on Thursday or Friday - can't believe it's been 5 weeks since I started "training" - feels good to try something new!

Anyone else trying something new recently that's working for them?

Glad to hear he is getting better.. it seems it could be that time of the year for people to be getting hurt and sick.

i am on my last two weeks of school. i got told i couldn't apply for the supervisor position why i am not sure but apparently i don't get credit because i am a work as they need me person not a full time person.. ugh i just work for a crazy company. i keep telling my self a year and a half and then me and my gf will be out of here.

If its not one thing its another right now.. I had to fire one of my babysitters because she decided she was going to be a drunk and then someone told me that she passed a pot pipe in front of there kid.. so i said well if she's doing it in front of other peoples kids who's to say shes not doing it in front of my kid so i said no more.. well then she decided to start drama with my gf.. the only words she could say about us was that we were dumb effin dykes and that my gf should go find someone who isnt still married.. the only reason i am still married is because he wouldnt sign the paper work.. now he has finally signed the paper work and hopefully next monday i can file them.

i think the worse part is that is my gfs family is the ones who keeps putting her down.. even when her mom is a lesbian too. i also think its part of the reason why her mom was happy to move away.

Kosh if you are looking for help in the group i'd be happy to help out :) i think i need some more responsibility. Keep me accountable :)

Hope everyone is having a good summer!

Our plans for the week got a bit derailed since my father-in-law went into the hospital a week ago and we've been up near him (about 3 hours from our home) to help out. At 93 he's amazingly well and bounced back from the "episode" (no one quite knows what it was - none of the tests showed anything conclusive). He's in a rehab facility now to get his strength back, but hopefully he'll be back home soon.

At any rate, we went in such a hurry I forgot my computer, so I've been logging in my food on my iPhone SparkPeople app, but have really missed all of you!

Talk to you soon,
Beth (koshkalet)

Welcome back BlossomeWolfe, good to see you again!

Tangled- wow, sounds like a lot of class work and how exciting to have that supervisor position open up! Really glad the temp "chilled out" a bit so you could get some walking in.

We'll be having some fun here Friday - science museum for Tiny's 3rd birthday and then heading away for a few days. I'll do my best to check in while we're in the mountains!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Hello team!

Well, here we are mid-summer - where does the time go? I know it's roasting hot where most folks are, so how is it staying on top of exercise with that kind of heat?

Looking forward myself to finishing off week 3 of the walk/jog 5K program this week and that means I'll be well on my way to doing the virtual 5K with SparkPeople!

Hope everyone is doing great and that your kiddos are too.

Woo HOOOO It's FRIDAY!!!!

Kids are at their school sleep over, so the wife and I had a date night and now the house is *very* quiet. Nice to have a little time to ourselves.

Tangled - hope you're feeling better! Usually when I get that dizzy I'm dehydrated, but whatever it is/was, I sure am sorry it happened.

Any great weekend exercise plans? I think I might try to get to Zumba before I pick the kids up tomorrow morning...

Wonderful Wednesday!

Had one of those very rare days today where things just felt kinda off all day, but hey, at least I got Zumba in this morning, so I can check that off the to-do list!

Tangled, I haven't tried the Zumba Wii, but I hear it's good. If you're pretty overwhelmed, now may not be the time to join the gym - I think you're right - crack open that yoga DVD! Even if you do it for 5 minutes - that's a start, right? Heck, even if you open it and look at it I'd say that's awesome!

Sounds like your doing great with your walking, too - keep up the great work!

@ kosh thanks.. :) i've been working on some stuff here at home.. i was debating on buying the zumba game for wii.. or just pay the gym membership fee. but i don't really have time to go to the gym.. i am making time for a walk of some distance every day but not always as far as i'd like it to be.. today i am going to head out on my walk early so when i pick up my daughter from school i can have my mile in cause i have to work tonight. ugh..

I wish my planner was here already.. i am one of those people who needs to write things down and i feel like i am missing things right now.. i have one that i am using but i only print off month to month so next months stuff is all scribbled on my july pages.. i am so lost right now lol.

Today's my daughters last day of summer school then the next 5 days she is going camping. i work tonight have 2 days off and then work the weekend.. so my two days off i get to do homework and hopefully my planner will be here one of those days so i can get that under control also.

I was thinking about breaking out my yoga dvd thats been in my dvd case since i pretty much bought it.. but ugh i don't know i don't think its going to happen right now.. i got way to much to do. while secretly looking for a second job.
Sorry about the rant..

I hope everyone is doing well!

Top of the week to you all!

Just finished my 1st run of week 2 of the couch to 5K walk/jog program - it's just difficult enough to feel like a good challenge, but still completely doable.

Has anyone else tried a new exercise routine lately?

Welcome, Tangled! So glad you've joined us and we look forward to getting to know you and seeing you around!

Happy 4th of July, everyone! Is everyone planning some serious fun for tomorrow?

We are lucky enough in my town to have a 4th of July parade and some sweet guys from our church have a house on the parade route and just let everyone take over their lawn and watch at their house.

I'm gonna bring one super healthy option (a spinach salad) and one decadent option (an ollalieberry pie). Gonna try and keep mostly to the healthy options tomorrow, with the exception of a slice of that pie (but it's berries so it can't be all bad, right???).

Anyway, please have a save and wonderful holiday everyone!

Helllloooo!!! Long time no see - missed you guys!

Laura - how awesomely cool that you and your fiance have hit a sweeter spot - good for you for changing things up. Were you able to get away this weekend together?

It does make such a difference to be around the GLBT community. Sometimes my lesbian identity gets a little lost in suburbia here - I'm just another stay-at-home-mom, but I have a wife instead of a husband :) I'm sorry to hear you get looks, etc. I haven't come across that much around here and I'm *extremely* grateful. But, absolutely, your children are doing great (and there are scientific studies that show that kids raised in lesbian households do just that, thank you very much) - so, yeah, forget the judgers!

So thrilled to hear about you two working out together, Laura, that is super cool. I was just nagging my sweetie today that if she didn't start going to the gym more often that I was gonna cancel her membership :)

Anyway, our week away was just perfect, none of us wanted to come home. I'll have to post some pictures of the view up there so you all can understand. The only problem with our vacation was that I took a vacation from logging my food and, no surprise, gained a bit.

The funny thing is, is that we're trying to get my father-in-law to gain weight (he's lost over 10 pounds in the last 2 months, which is *not* what you want to do when you're an already thin 93 year old!) - I just wish that I could transfer some of my weight onto him - get both of us more healthy!

However, I'm back on track and even went for my day 1 of the walk/jog couch to 5K program! It was a bit harder than I thought it would be, but I know it's just gonna get easier.

Anyway, great to be back. Hugs to you all!

So things are a lil better with me and my fiance :), changed some things up this weekend. Gonna try and do a nice lil drive short "get away" this weekend.

I did not so good this weekend lol i must get back on the wagon lol. I still lost 1 pound buuuut i could have done better lol.

WOOT WOOT PRIDE, im happy you guys had a great time, i had a great time with my love too, we def needed to be around our community, and really just feel relaxed and be ourselves without the stares and whispers...kinda used to it but kinda not, i just dont like the moms who look at us like were bad parents and my children will be confused, though my children are excelling. Whatever forget them lol.

Well my fiance has decided to workout with me yaaay. I mean she has a great body im jealous , she just wants her lil pack to be more toned, oh she couldnt be any luckier, she eats more then me i dont get it , where does all the food go?

Well Im excited today we are going to walk my hill i live on. This should be interesting, normally i workout with the kids or alone. :)
Have a great monday!

Splendid Sunday!

Pride in SF was just beautiful - met up with some other lesbian moms and had a good time and the kids were super well behaved with all the crowds and travel to the big city, etc.

Also, as a bonus, one of the vendors had a fruit/veg cup to buy - $5 for cucumber, watermelon, pineapple, jicama - yum!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and is looking forward to a good week ahead. We'll be back in Lake Tahoe soaking up some sun and fun, so I may not be around until next weekend, but I will do my best to check in.

Tomorrow wraps up our mini-challenge/streak - I think I'll do another one in a week or two!

Wow, this week has flown by! Can't believe we're heading into SF tomorrow for Pride!

So tickled my sweetie worked out her schedule so she could come with us tomorrow morning, it will be great to do it as a family.

Laura, so bummed to hear you & your sweetie are still having a hard time and that it's the first anniversary of your mother's death. I know the first year after my mother-in-law's death was an awful time for my wife and I - grief just flows into so, so many things.

I really hope you two can have some fun together - it took my wife and I a bunch of date nights before we were able to really reconnect - but it's the last thing you want to do is spend time with this person you keep arguing with!!!

Best of luck - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I know you can keep going on your health goals - just think - eating well and exercising are gonna make all this other stuff better!!!

Awww no sf trip? well you still have sunday lol. Isnt it funny that their rewards are things we like to do as well lol. I know my kids sometimes i tell them, you guys being bad messes up mommy treat too lol i wanted to go lol. Im happy to see that the Gum trick is still working yaaaay!!!,

Ok well its friday its a year to date from my mothers passing. Im actually feeling ok, it comes and goes. Me and my fiance have been at eachothers throats, love eachother but were both really unhappy right now, and well now im tryin to figure out how to get it back...sigh, i just dont want to put on weight stressing about it. So today is our day to spend time with eachother, lets see how this goes, i just gotta learn to shutup and listen lol even when i feel hurt by what she says. On the up end im just gonna be positive and whatever happens at this points happens.

Everyone have a great weekend!

Well, didn't make into SF today after all. The kids were kinda naughty for our sitter last night - which is honestly a very rare occurrence, but as I couldn't reward their behavior last night, so no special treat to see the pirate show today (I'm kinda bummed - this "pirate" is an *amazing* performer - juggler, ventriloquist, etc.). Ah, well, another time.

Laura - so cool about the orange and salad helping you in the middle of the night - your body will thank you for that instead of the chocolate - what an awesome way to try something new!

I myself had a good day - made chocolate chip cookies for a neighbor as a welcome, and instead of eating the cookie dough spoonful after spoonful, I put a stick of gum in my mouth and that did the trick - hurray!

Hey there everyone!

Hope your 5 days of 5 fruits and veg are off to a great start - I think I did pretty well with it myself today!

Got to see Rock of Ages tonight - very silly and a I was a little worried whether I would like it until Mary J. Blige joined and got the show *really* going!!!

See you soon team!

Laura, you are so right - nothing is truly yours once you have kids (and if I do try to have it be "mine" I get some quick reminders that "we share in this family, Mommy"!).

Wow, neat/fun week ahead - gonna go for a playdate tomorrow, see a Pirate show in San Francisco on Thursday night, and Pride in San Francisco on Sunday! I was debating about going to the Dyke March in SF on Saturday night, but I think that will wait for another year...

My wife helped out with the challenge and bought me my favorite fruit - blackberries! I'll be throwing a pile of those on my cereal tomorrow morning to start off the fruit challenge!

OK team - see ya tomorrow! Happy Fruit and Vegging out :)

You must be ecstatic - I am for you!!!

Got another Zumba class under my belt this week - love my Monday night class so much and missed it when my calf muscle was hurting - so great to be back to it!

OK, so I posted a new topic for our fruit and veg challenge. I made it only 5 days to make it will be super doable. We'll start on Wednesday and I know it's gonna be so great to see what yummy fruit and veg we can get logged in. (Although I might have to fight my kids for the blueberries!)

Yes we most certainly can do a challenge :) hmmmm i think the veggies and fruit will be good , then i can force myself to eat what i really should lol. I piled on the fruits and veggies in the grocery cart this week so lets see how this goes, but i will admit that my brother has def went through alot of fruit this weekend lol. Just greedy but were both losing weight so i guess that was ok :)
Im finally at 210 yaaay, i havent seeen this number since i was in highschool 7 years ago I like it! :)

Beth, oh fun another lil vacation, nothing wrong with it, thats awesome :)

Splendid Sunday!

Hope you all are as lucky as we are - picture perfect weather today.

So, is anyone up for a team challenge? Maybe a week of seeing if we can get all 5 servings of fruit and veg in or maybe a water challenge since the weather's getting hot?? Who's with me?

Fantastic Friday to everyone!

Laura - so glad the sun is out for you - Zumba can wait until the next rainy day!

I myself did a good amount of Zumba tonight (the Friday night class around the corner from me totally rocks) and then I topped it off with a little weight lifting! Also made a plan with a friend to go to Zumba together on Monday night.

Also, just figured out that we can go back up to Lake Tahoe the week after this for about 4 days - woo hoo!

As for weight loss, I've been not watching my calories as much as I should (and so the scale did not move this week), but today I got back on track, so I'm very pleased. I know you've seen the scale go down recently, Laura, and I hope you've got some good rewards lined up for yourself!

Howdy!

Laura, so sweet of you to ask!! Our mini-vacation was beautiful - just fantastic weather. Got to paddle boat, go hiking, swimming, etc. AND I got to see myself in a bathing suit for the first time in a little while and it's so cool to see a "smaller" me in that suit!

My father-in-law is doing just fine - I told him that his 94th birthday is just around the corner (in January), so he'd better get ready to have a party for that :) He's a big choc-o-holic, so I made him some chocolate chip cookies for him (which my mother-in-law used to do for him, so now I do it since she's passed on). So, when I was making them, it was pretty late at night and I meant to put a piece of gum in my mouth before I started making them and I didn't and I just fell into the old habit of eating the cookie dough. Yup, lesson learned - I will chew gum next time while making chocolate chip cookies :)

Hey Laura - super cool that you're gonna Zumba! I hope you love it as much as I do - it's been such a life saver for me to have an exercise that I find really fun and challenging.

In the meantime, hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Best,
Beth

Wow, it's Thursday!

Hey Laura - yes, make sure you stay above your low point calorie wise - you might even shoot for the high end of your range one or two days a week? So cool about the challenge - what is it? Congrats on joining it!

This week has flown by. Our little guy is a bit sad these days, since he knows his "class" at his pre-school will be ending next week and changing next year, and that he won't be in school with exactly these same kids again. So hard to hold this 4 year old heart through this big (for him) transition...

At any rate, I got back to Zumba today, took it super easy and it felt soooo great to be back!

We'll be going up to visit my 93 year old father-in-law this weekend, so I may not have much of a chance to check in, but I'll be back Wednesday! In the meantime, have a great weekend everyone!

Hello you gorgeous moms!

Wow, Laura - 2 hour workout!!! emoticon Dang - you're gonna have to tell me what some of those songs are so I can put them on and get two hours in myself!

I've been taking it easy all week since I pulled a leg muscle and I read up on what to do when you pull a muscle and the best thing to do is - rest. I have to say I'm missing my Zumba something fierce this week!!! I'm determined to get back to it Friday, though. At least I'm tracking my steps - 7800 today (gonna try and make it to 10,000 before I head to bed).

Keep up the great work everyone!

Hello Ladies!!

Hello ladies i hope your week is going good.... even if it just started lol. I know i am already ready for the weekend lol. Ok so i did pretty good yesterday, i made me a new workout playlist that would get me through a 2 hour workout, now i feel great! a little sore but good. Now i will admit that when i was listening to the songs after i was on the eliptical for 30 minutes i started beggin to hear what i knew was the last song on my playlist lol bahahahah, i was tired already lol. But the music kept me goin and kept me motivated . Like ooo i cant wait to go out and look cute in my new outfit so i can dance to this song lol.

Anyways i hope all is well and you all are having a successful week with your weight loss goals and even your personal :)!!!
Have a awesome dayyy!!!!!!!!

Well, here it is, Saturday night!

How is everyone's weekend going?

We had a busy day today - soccer practice, school picnic, then church fundraiser/choir concert.

I'm ready to sleep for the next year!

Did get some exercise in today, though, since I biked to the school picnic.

Talk to you all soon!
Beth

Happy Friday all!

Sorry to be away so long! I've been cruisin' on my streak and I'm on day 12 of staying more carefully within my calories. Today was weigh in and... I've made it to my 10% goal! 21 pounds gone.

Laura - thanks for keeping up the team this week. Sorry you hit a rough motivation spot. How did getting up at 4am go? I know you have so much to do at the end of the day and being the center of your family's life is very hard. Good for you for changing it up. That's what I usually do when I hit a motivation low point - I just change something. New workout pattern, new food, new strategy. It's hard to come up with solutions when you're feeling so down, so you deserve extra kudos for that.

Jonah - we're all been there! Dust yourself off, focus on all the great work you've done and keep on going!

Have a great and healthy weekend everyone!!!

Hello Ladies!!! Happy thursday! I hope your week is going awesome

Im feelin a little down, i feel stuck again,i havent worked out in a week but i have stayed within calories but i feel sooo down. I feel like im going to be stuck at where im currently at right now. Im gonna start fresh tomorrow and push myself to get up at 4 am before i go to work to work out. Then ill be up, its hard for me to workout after work with the kids and getting the household situated. i really am wishing the whole family did not rely on me so much. I just want to make sure i dont get stuck again makin sure everyone else is ok and forget about me. So hopefully this all turns around for me within the next few days. I need it to :(

Besides that, i hope all is going wonderful with alll of you! enjoy your day~!!!

Let's hear it for the "unofficial" start of Summer this weekend!

Laura - you look *wonderful* (and always have, imo), but I know what you mean about your brain catching up with your body looks wise.

OK, and I just have to say that my "streak" of really focusing in on my calorie zone is paying off, 'cause now I'm down 2.4 pounds this week! I'll keep it up for another week and if 2 more pounds come off then I'm at my first medium goal of 10% off!

Best to all of you and keep up the great work!
Beth

Good evening!

Celia - thank goodness you've gotten some relief! Plus you're on Summer break! Woo HOOO!

Laura - even if you squeeze in 20 minutes, that will add up! I know it's sooo frustrating, but "one-derland" is just so close and I know you can make it!!! For me sometimes I have to just pop in a DVD at the end of the day and do my 20 minutes just to get it done. Also, for me having classes that I go to at the gym helps a lot - I just say "I have class, you gotta take the kids" and out the door I go.

I'm on day 5 of my "calorie zone" streak and going strong!! It helps that I can think of it as a short-term goal, just to do 1500 calories or less for the 14 days and then see where I am in terms of my head and my weight and my measurements and my overall well-being.

Hey Laura, Hey Theresa!

Theresa, that is so awesome - I know that can be a big change from soda to water, but I know it will leave you feeling better and healthier. Great tracking this morning, too! Laura (MsLovely) is absolutely right - we are here for the ups and the downs (since getting up from the downs is how we stick with it).

Busy day for me today, my son's preschool had it's play and I helped out for a fair amount of the day. I was worried that I might go over my calories for the day, but I did pretty well and made it!

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to stop in and say hi! This is my third time at this and I am off to a good start. I woke up this morning and got water instead of diet coke. I also sat down and had a healthy breakfast and tracked it. Now to just keep going. I hope everyone has a great day. -Theresa

Happy Wednesday!!!!

Great job Beth with staying focused and focusing in on what to do!

Celia- hey girl, great blog, hope your havin a great week!

Me im trying to focus more, i have not been able to really workout due to all the running around with the kids and the fam. I def need to figure out how to squeeze it in some type of way, but on the other hand im doing really good with the eating, my weight loss has plateau and this is where things get challenging for me. So again no scale for the next two weeks and i gotta push past this stupid number! ughhh, i just wanna see 199.9 lol bahahahahhahahaha

Hey there!

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week.

I'm "streaking" by staying more within my calorie range for the next couple of weeks, and day 2 went great! I have to remember that it is possible for me to stay closer to the low-end of my calorie range and not be hungry.

See you soon, team!

Celia, I did indeed check out your blog and wow do those pictures tell it all! I know your old self was trying to do right by you, but I'm so glad your new self is caring for yourself in a much healthier way!

Laura, hope you had a great Sunday and that the waters are still peaceful :)

Hello fantastic women!

Laura - that is some *huge* work you did. It's sooo hard when you're so angry and I am so proud that you were able to turn it around.

Catie and I had a great night last night - our preschool has a "sleepover" night a couple of times a year - so last night was it and *both* kids went. I thought for sure that Tiny (our 2 1/2 year old) was gonna have to come home in the middle of the night, but nope, she did OK! We went out to a restaurant at 9 - and O M G there were *people* (we've usually not gone out past about 8:30).

Anyway, hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the weekend!

Good morning team!

Let's hear it for the weekend!

Laura - how's things going? I'm saying prayers and sending good peaceful thoughts your way.

Celia - love seeing your huddles - hope you're feeling better!

Did my weigh-in today - I lost 2 pounds in 2 weeks. Solid and good, but I'm really wanting to get to my 10%, which is still another 4 pounds away - gotta dig deep and see if I can do that by the end of the month!!!

Best,
Beth

Hey there!

Oh, Laura, it's fight with your spouse/fiance week I guess, huh?

Sounds like this is a pretty big difference in opinion for you both, and your primary concern is your kids, but your fiance has different priorities. It's hard because at some point it just, as you said, gets to the point where neither one of you can hear the other. It takes so much to get out of one of those argument "ruts" and the only thing I can tell you is that at this point it gets hard to remember why you chose each other, so maybe start with an appreciation of your fiance (I know, it's the *last* thing you want to do because you are hurt) - tell her a few things you appreciate about her.

Are you able to see any of her points of view and restate them to her without including your viewpoint? If you two aren't getting each other, I wonder if maybe just listening without responding might be healing?

Also, this may be not in line with what you are thinking about, but I'm wondering if a move right now is a stressor you want to take on this year since you're still likely in major grief mode (Catie and I are almost a year and a half into grief and it's still majorly affecting us and how we interact).

Hang in there, sweetie. Catie and I had a *hell* of a year after her mom passed (and, as I said, we're still feeling some of the aftershocks). Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you don't have a real difference going on here, just that things might be harder to process right now.

Just my two cents - take what you like and leave the rest. Just know that I am praying for you and for peace between the two of you.

In the meantime, lots and lots of hugs!
Beth

Happy Wednesday!!!!

Beth, im happy you both talked , that was good. and woot woot for the weight loss!!!

Im having a rough week and using my weight loss as a getaway. Me and my fiance are at eachothers throats and saying hurtful things that have us both questioning the relationship at this point. Things are waaay intense and idk how to get out of this rut. It no longer comfort we feel with eachother anymore..our communication is completely gone and we are not getting eachother. She feels im personalizing everything and i feel she is not caring of what she says and is always about whats best for her in the end, not whats best for the family. We are planning on moving but cannot agree on the location. She wants to live in the big city of seattle which is cramped and expensive and their school district has gone to crap and they are 5 Million dollars in debt due to a superinteded splurging with the money and other things. She sees it as diverse for the kids I see it as 40 children per class. How will my kids learn?Anyways all bad. Plz just send good thoughts this way and any suggestive ideas that can help now. I have resorted to just not speaking at all.

Have a great day!! Sorry im totally venting lol
