like I said open your eyes...when did I ever say there was no skill? I may not like seeing him win all the damn time but I have NEVER said he has no skill. I will even go on the record of saying that Kyle Bush has skill I just hate the guy. I will even say that seeing Johnson (with a capital J ) win last night was better than seeing Kyle or Kurt...and even though he had a good race Kyle still cried!!!!!

I'm already well aware of the fact that Gordon is through winning anything. I'm okay with that...sort of... But Jenny is right, JJ doing well will always be good for Gordon, who is part owner of his race team. Still doesn't mean that I want to see JJ win or that I'm going to start liking him, but it is a nice little irony.

Personally, I'm quite looking forward to the day when Senator is going to be sitting around feeling about JJ the way I'm feeling about JG and wondering if he's ever going to figure out how to win another race.
Don't worry Senator...that day WILL come. Can't tell you when, but just think about how recently I was able to sit here and think that Jeff would always keep on winning races, that his 5th championship had to be just around the corner, that at least he won at least one race every year...Whenever it happens some of us will be here to laugh at you while you're crying over the fact that JJ can't seem to win a race anymore. (But we'll still love you while we're laughing at you. )

I'll admit that watching Baby Busch lead most of the race wasn't terribly exciting. But I still thought that it was a pretty good race. There was plenty of racing going on behind BB, and in the end I'd rather see Kenseth win than either BB or Johnson, so that aspect of the race was good. The most exciting race for me is the one that's never going to happen...the one that Gordon finally wins. But it's still always nice to see him run well and finish a race well. I'm just having a bit of trouble adjusting to being realistic and not expecting him to ever win again because he's got no gonads left.

That was a great race last night. One of the best tracks for Jeff to ever hope to win another race, but I'm pretty sure he's done. I'll take 3rd...it's probably the best I can ever hope for from my driver anymore. Anyway, it was a really fun race to watch, which is good because it kept me up a couple of hours past my bedtime and was also exciting enough to keep me awake the whole time.

Hey, Jenny. What do you think about Kenseth winning? Not Johnson. Not the Busch brothers.
Nice welcome back for Hamlin. He was a tired boy, though.
Val, your guy did pretty good finishing 3rd, in his 700th finish. 300th in the top five.
And Senator, Johnson is keeping his Chase points up there, but you have to keep the girls happy this weekend. After all, it is Mother's Day weekend.
NASCAR Day is coming up on Friday. All Star race on Saturday. Anybody ever order the NASCAR pin?

Yes, it does suck for him. NASCAR has been doing some really strange things recently.
Jenny, from time to time I stop getting notices for one of the threads I'm active on. When that happens what I do is find that thread from the start page (if you go there you can pick the team and then choose the thread you want so see) and subscribe to it. When you are looking at all of the postings for one thread you can find a button for subscribing to the thread at the top of the thread. (I think that's where it is.)
Anyway, that's what I keep having to do and I hope it works for you, too.

Apparently there truly is no honor among thieves (just to coin a tired old phrase) and it looks like we'd best get used to seeing a lot of this type of stuff. I'm not going to condone it, but I'm also not particularly surprised that it happens to darn often. Just a bit disappointed.

Little bit of selective memory going on, Senator? I know that the situations were somewhat different but I seem to remember Chad Knaus being suspended for several races a little while back. I think that Gordon's team may have had something similar, too, so I'm not trying to pick on you. Just point out that the 48 team isn't made up of angels any more than the rest of the teams are.

I've never noticed where it says that it's a closed track, but whatever. (I don't always pay really close attention to what's on the TV because I'm usually doing something else while I'm watching.) One way or the other, it's a fun bit.
I was hoping for a different winner, too, but oh well. Shrub ran a good race, but I mostly stopped paying attention once Jeff had no chance of winning. It would have been nice to see Truex win, but Busch really earned this one so I'm not gonna cry about it. On to next week...
There was much rejoicing!

it says in the beginning that it is a closed course so right there you knew it was staged...but the salesman had no clue he was set up for sure! :)
on another note I wish I hadn't wasted my time watching the end of the race...I was so wishing Truex was going to win :)

* The sticker on the car says "09," but Jalopnik.com writes that the Camaro wasn't made until 2010.
* The Camaro also does not have a cupholder, which was prominently featured in the video holding a hidden camera disguised as a can of unopened Pepsi.
* Lastly, there isn't a single shot of Gordon actually driving the car. The video was shot in Concord, N.C., and the N.C. Independent Tribune confirmed that racer Brad Noffsinger (who works for the Richard Petty Racing Event) "did the stunt work for the production."

I'll bet that poor salesman wet his pants. But it would have been one heck of a lot of fun if you knew that you were riding with a guy who really knows how to drive.
