I've heard they are talking about that; I drink a ton of water. I don't make myself I just do. I think we need to listen to our bodies and give them what they need.

Has everyone seen the new evidence that 8 cups a day is not really necessary?

I got myself into electrolyte trouble by drinking 8 (8 oz.) glasses a day. (On top of coffee)

So now I aim for 4-6 cups of water and 3 cups of coffee.

I'm a Chugger with Water and Coffee.

Three things that help me succeed.
1. planning workout and meals a day or more ahead of time.
2. visiting urban mommy's page :)
3. Believing I can do it.

Three things that guarantee failure
1. fast food
2. emotional eating
3 being in a carb coma= no movement

Thanks for the tips. The inspiration of just being on this team seems to help jog my memory, I've thought of another idea to share. I remember when I was a child and got sick and I guess the doctor had told my mom I needed to drink more water for a fever or with medicine or something, when my mom would read to me she would make me take a sip of water before she'd turn the page as an incentive. Maybe I'll keep a bottle by my computer and make a deal with myself -- one sip for every e-mail? Hope this helps someone else.

I find this difficult too, I have been averaging about 6 cups a day. I don't know whether to consider the brewed tea I drink at night, or the diet 7up I usually drink at lunch. I haven't been up to this point...

But to answer your question, I guess that I am more of a gulper, I will drink whole pint glasses of water when I wake up, after working out, and before going to bed, then I carry around a water bottle during my classes that I sip through out the morning to stay awake.

Are you a sipper or a chugger? (Smile)I find its easier if I chug it down or use a straw or just accept that I will not be able to get down 8 glasses.

I found this site after I found the Beck book, when I was looking for an online calorie counter. I really like it and think it works well with Beck. But I'm having a really hard time drinking 8 cups of water a day! Even though I feel better when I do and know I should. Any tips, anyone?
