its no problem. doctor gave me a yearly blood test and she said I had vitamin D deficiency. apparently it is common from what I read. Vitamin D has to do with weight loss as welel. Those with not enough of it tend to be obese or fat

Sorry dancequeen1051 I didn't mean "you" were taking too much!... How do people get vitamin D deficient anyway. Is it through low fat diet or something? Is it a common problem do you know?

my doctor told me I had a vitamin D deficiency and since I started taking it i have built it up. I will rely on my medical doctor to tell me if i am taking too much. thanmks

Don't want to discourage but you can take too much vitamin D because it's fat soluble and builds up in the body.

I take a multi vitamin and try and cook food that is nutritious and cook in a way that keeps the nutrients in it.

I heard rickets is an increasing problem these days because everyone is so wary of going in the sun and everyone plasters suncream on first.

hi all. new to the group. i'm with cindilp. i would be concerned about taking more than my multivitamin and the foods i eat. i wouldn't want to take an additional supplement, unless my dr told me to. my multi has 250% DV of vitamin d.

One of my concerns is the tendency of taking too much of any one vitamin or mineral. That is why I stick to my multi and what I get through diet and other sources. Actually, with my multi, I have three different formulas that I alternate between.

i take 400 miligrams of Vit D in tablet form 2 times a day -- and I get it in Yogurt and Cottage Cheese. I am increasing my D to 800 mill. 2 times a day when this bottle is done

I get whatever there is in my diet and a little more from a daily multivitamin. What else are you doing to increase it?

I read an interesting article in the MInneapolis paper --- that vitamin D actually helps those trying to lose weight lose more weight. My doctor told me last year that i had a vitamin D deficiency and to increase amount taken. the articles I have read says there is a correlation between obesity and vitamin D deficiency.
