Dear VAMOMMA0609, I'm so sorry I didn't get back with you after your last posting. But my ex-mother-in-law passed away that very same day you wrote (9/11). I'm not really part of the fam anymore, but my own children were grieving and needed to have some "talk time" with me about their Nana. So I've been spending alot of time on the phone, and in person helping them through it. Also, I'm sorry to say that I don't really have a handle on what you're talking about doing in the book, cuz I'm still just on Chapter 5, barely making my first Advance Response Card. But, anyway I can tell you're doing what's best for YOU getting going on it again. You sound as though you're very serious about it helping you and you're wanting to do it right and finish it up this time. That's what it really takes to do it right, "the desire", and you've got it! Just keep doing your best and if something gets a little confusing, just take a step back and re-read what you don't remember. You'll make it!!! This is a wonderful program, isn't it??? I wish I would have learned these techniques 15 years ago!

When I first started the Beck solution, I was already dieting, and just applied the methods, which are really what helped me STAY on the diet. I did slack off for a few weeks, but when I realized it, I went back through, and started reading my cards and all, again. Good luck, whatever you decide!!

Dear VAMOMMA0609 I'm so glad you've decided to restart The Beck Diet Solution Book. I, myself, have just started reading it for the first time ever, and I am thrilled about what I'm finally learning about my thoughts, habits and emotions of eating! Concerning your question of whether you should start at the beginning all over again or somewhere else...That's gotta be up to you, sweetie. Wherever you feel you don't remember much of it is where you should start. If it were me, I'd start there at the beginning, just in case I may have missed something that I'd forgotten about, and as you go along you'll be able to tell right away if you need to keep going along or maybe skip ahead a little. Let that little voice inside your heart and mind tell you what to do. You can always skim through things and then get serious with it here and there as needed. Good reading!

Thanks that is a good idea. I guess I will just begin again, but keep doing the diet. I had done if for about 3-4 weeks. Then I pretty much fell off the wagon.
What do you think if I copy the journal (food plan) page and then I will make my "to do" list on the computer and add check offs as I go. Hmmm...or maybe I will look back over days 1-14 but really begin again at day 14.
Thanks again!

I reckon factors like how long ago you stopped the program and how far you were into it would factor in.
But, I'm new to Beck, but not new to dieting, and when I decided to do her program, I didn't want to stop dieting, I had been doing well, so I just started at Day 1, and just kept on dieting.

Hi all,
I loved Beck and got pretty far into it. I now need to restart, but I don't know where to begin.
How do I restart? I don't want to not diet for 2 weeks, so what do I do. Do I go back to where I left off in the book. Do I begin at the beginning?
THanks! Kit
