I weigh 220 lbs. My goal is to be 175 by Jan 11, 2013. I just want to be under 200 by Christmas, and go from there.

Yes ARILLIUS - I started Spark People on 1/4/12 at 315 lbs with a goal of of 225 lbs by 12/25/12. My exercise goal is to join one of the Avon Walks against Breast Cancer next year - which will be walking 39.3 miles in 2 days so I have some work to do but I WILL achieve both goals!

Gee,

I just read your post. I loved that your waging war against your body. Show it who's boss. I've kinda done the same thing. I'm determined to win the war. I'm going to get to 200 by May 26th!

I started at 265 lbs last year. Since then I have lost almost 40 lbs. Now since this morning I'm at 224.5! My goal is to hit 200 by May 26th even though Sparks tells me its not realistic I say it is! And I'm on a mission to prove it!

I initially wanted to drop from 242 to 185 pounds. Since I've started lifting regularly I've decided that I'm not really all that attached to the 185 pounds, and I am instead setting a goal for reaching 10% body fat.

Just wanted to jump in here and reintroduce myself. I've been a member of this site for a while but stopped coming here several months ago. I'm back and plan to lose a few more lbs by the end of June.

My weight had climbed to 180 and now my goal is to bring it back down to 150.

With a lot of work I'll do it.

I am picking up a treadmill tomorrow.

Need to be able to balance exercise time and grad school. Since grad school I've stopped exercising as much and have subsequently gained weight. I feel like I can focus on having a healthy body or a healthy mind-I'm determined to be able to have both.

Your right! It's true. I'm an Apple for a male so most of my weight is around the middle. Before July I had not seen my feet when I stood straight up since college! Overcoming our bodies 'natural' weight distribution tendancies is tough.
But it can be done!

yes for some un-Godly reason, our bodies, doesn't like it when we figure it out...I personally have waged WAR against my body...I make it workout when it's tired, I make it do extra reps when it wants to stop...I make it eat fruits and veggies for snacks when it's hungry...and it still wants to hold on to it's belly and thigh fat...so I'm winning the battles, but the war is still in his favor... emoticon

Ok,does anyone have any timed goals. It's one thing to say "i wanna" its another to say "i'm gonna by (insert date).
For example: I've fought since June to get to my goal weight one 180. Now, I've been at 188 for two weeks. If 1-3 lbs is healthy weight loss per week, I'm setting Oct. 26, 2010 as the deadline to hit my goal of 180. That's ambitious I think but doable.
Does anyone else have a timed goal?

My weight goal is 180. Initially. I haven't weighed that since college. Once I get there it will time to re-evaluate.
I've never been big on taking measurements. It seemed to be too much to take on. Focusing on the weight was enough. But now that I'm getting close I'm curious about my percentage of body fat. I mean, I'm doing all this work...what if one tweek will make me even better, you know?

I've got over 60 lbs to lose and I have a lot of health issues which slow me down and it can get a little frustrating. From hypothyroid to diabetes 2 to a knee injury last year. One of the best aerobic exercises for me is my stationary bike and I use bike-o-vision dvds to keep me on the bike. I like the way the dvds make you feel like you're riding down a road.

I took a bad fall and my knee blew out - the meniscus. The only thing I could do was the stationary bike and my therapist advised me to stay with it. :-) My weight loss has been slow, sadly.

You can't wait for motivation to strike; sometimes you need to dig deep into yourself and find the motivation on your own.

I started with a new Dojo (have been out of martial arts almost a year following surgery, moving, getting married etc.) and my goal is to go 3 times a week for the first month (every other day) and then increase to 4 times a week in April.

I have also increased drills each week. For example, I could only complete 35 jumping jacks my first week, and I have increased at least by 5 each week. (Up to 45, 50 next week).

emoticon Carisil Good Luck on your Spark Journey!

I have several short term goals that I hope will turn into lifetime habits: exercising daily, drinking more fluids daily, eating healthy, sleeping through the night.

My biggest goal is to get off meds...the majority of which are prescribed because of my obesity. Number one is to get off metformin which is for diabetes. Once my diabetes is no longer an issue, the other meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, depression, and GERD should not be necessary any longer. I hope. The allergy med and thyroid I will always have to take but the others are all taken because of my weight.

I want to complete the P90X program without quitting. It's 90 days of non stop pushup, pullups, plyometrics and weight training. I start the program on the 2nd of February. That's my short term goal for the next 90 days. I've been stuck at 137-142 lbs for almost a good month. I know, i have more weight to loose because my body fat % is still fairly high. Any suggestions?

My goals -

Lose a dress size. I was an 8, and should have done something when my jeans got snug. Now my 10s are comfortable, and I'm not. emoticon
Start lifting light weights, using the guide here
Increase walking time
Cut back on dairy

When I was here 2 years ago, I had immediate results when I increased exercise. So here I go!

Upping the fruits and veggies and water, and using the tracker here. I agree that the blogging here is motivational--best blog to read: Gorncaptain! Anyway, I consider blogging here a version of communicating my goals to at least one person a day. And of course, getting back to the exercise--that's been hardest so far.

Besides the weight, my goals are not to binge, to do strength training everyday, cardio 4 times a week. Use the tracker here and not to eat anything that doesn't benefit my body. I am actually hoping that I can get rid of my blood pressure meds by summer and my cane also! Woops, forgot the water, drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day!

I'm starting simply. WATER!! I am having a difficult time with most things. Overworking myself. I'd like to get in some exercise, too. There is my start.

1) Drink a minimum of 64 oz water daily.

2) Exercise (besides at work...I'm a carhop) 2-3 times per week.

I've started a water challenge. Hopefully it will help get us back on track!

OK, time to set some new goals for myself... It's been quite a while. :)

#1... Eat clean, tomorrow starts Day 1 of clean eating, cutting out sugar and processed...junk. Sugar's gonna be killer for me!!

#2... Back to the gym!!! 6x a week, at least once a day. More often, twice, at least, once DH hooks up the DVD player.

#3... WATER WATER WATER!!! I've been on a major pop craze, and that's GOTTA stop!!

#4... Track my food!! I did a bit yesterday, blew today, and figured, oh well, I'll start again tomorrow.

#5... Blog DAILY on SP!! It's kind of a motivator for me, and it's an accountablity thing, too. If you guys haven't started blogging, I highly recommend it!!

It seems like it's been a while since anyone's posted in here, anybody else want to share revamped goals?

My main goal while trying to loose weight, well actually, I have a lot of them, but my biggest right now is not eating pizza. My hubby works at Dominoes, so we eat a lot of pizza, it's a more or less everyday meal, sometimes twice if we have leftovers.

Besides my weight loss goal (25lbs.), I want to exercise 5-6 days per week, eat significantly healthier (read: mostly fruits & veggies!), and maintain a healthy/trim physique when I get it!

Good luck everyone!

My goals are getting my water, upping my veggies, and getting my butt back to the gym! Or at LEAST doing SOMETHING every day!

- Eat more veggies (despite liking most veggies, I just can't seem to get them in!)
- Be more consistent with physical activity

What are your weight goals? I'm not asking you to concentrate on what weight you want to lose, I want to know what goals you have created for yourself to achieve your desired result.

My goals are to count my calories daily, drink 8 glasses of water daily, and work out for at least 30 minutes daily.
