Hi Texas,
I like how you spoke about learning so much about yourself. Those lessons are going to help the next part of your journey be more successful! I can relate to your efforts to stay focused on health during the bad times. My son passed away a few years ago and I think I tried to eat my way through the grief. I have finally learned that eating unhealthy things only makes the bad times worse.

I am only a few months into my vegan lifestyle but I feel so much better already. I agree with the previous suggestion to get a cookbook. I have found it fun to try new recipes.

Best wishes!

Welcome back Texas . You have made great strides so keep it up. It is never easy but very worthwhile to go vegetarian or even , as in my case, vegan. Never think you are alone as everyone here is here to get help. Tell yourself " I can eat it but I choose not to " when confronted with the urge to eat meat or fish. My coffee mug tells me " if it's got a face on it I don' t eat it " . I am 76 next birthday and have never felt better in my whole life than when I became vegan. I needed to lose weight and I did it !! I have lost 56lb and feel fantastic. I juice every day and grow micro greens indoors ( living in Scotland UK the weather does not permit many outdoor vegetable growing ideas .) as well as wheatgrass . Get a good cookbook such as The China Study cookbook by Leanne Campbell and get some ideas here on Spark people.
Blessed be. Jan

Hello all. I have come back after a few years gone. I lost 200 lbs and went from 340 to 130-140 for over a year. I even met a couple people from here once. i recenly walked away from bad relationship moved 6 times in two years and have gotten pregant so i gotten back up to 297. i ahve learned alot about myself in this process. i now have learned its not about being perfect but being healthy. And its not comparing youself to others i will always have excess skin around my bell unless i have surgery. so i have to deal with that like it or not. i have to learn to depend on me but learn to give myself a break at the same time. its up to me to lose the weight but i need to learn my triggers, how to deal with anger, co dependency and learn how to be happy even in the bad times. im looked for some support here so anyone out there thats interested in chatting with me.

i am getting back into vegetarian lifestle slowly by incresing veggies and fruit. any suggestions are welcome
