emoticon to the team MeeMee! I embraced the vegetarian lifestyle over twenty years ago for health reasons and have been a vegan for five years. It is a tough transition and like you, I took it in steps. There are still many unhealthy foods that are vegan so using Spark's Food Tracker is very helpful and I found that I really didn't lose wieght until I started to walk. Get a pedometer to track your steps and record them on spark's Fitness Tracker. It is such a rush to see how many of those calories you burned every day. "Calories are those critters who hide in your closet and sew your clothes tighter every night."

You can only get healthier; welcome! I was a meat eater, then vegetarian, then Vegan. I've only been embracing this lifestyle for 7 months now and it can be challenging but it's been worth it.

I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, NOTHING & NOBODY will hold me down. I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.

Hello. My name is Marilyn and I am trying to turn over a new leaf. I have been researching the vegan lifestyle and the benefits seem hard to believe. At 308 lbs. and having high blood pressure, this way of eating may be just what i need. I am easing in slowly and hopefully picking up momentum. Here's to a new life!
