Thanks for the welcome Anne-Margaret!

I just joined this weekend after realizing I might need a little motivation and help to loose some extra weight I gained this winter. My usual plan of increasing workouts and decreasing snacks is not working. Time to count calories ;-( I think I may have crossed an age related metabolic 'line'. It could be that I can't get away with as many calories as I used to and for several months I was in denial. hahaha

So, here is what I came up with as motivation this weekend. There is a clothing store i LOVE but can't afford to shop in. I promised myself a 250.00 spree in there when I lose 15 pounds. I told my husband and he said he'd match it! Vain? Superficial? Yup, but Iím pumped!

I believe sharing these things, helps them become reality and creates accountability and mindfulness....so thanks for reading.

welcome - even giving up some meat is better than a steady diet of it.

I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, NOTHING & NOBODY will hold me down. I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.

Hi, Kathleen, adn welcome! That's how I eat, pretty much as you describe! I only eat meat socially, and in very small amounts if I do, and I eat fish about 2-3x/week, almost everything as clean and whole as possible (given my suburban environment). I like this team, but also belong to the flexitarian group.

I have been some version of a vegetarian for several years. I occasionally eat meat and I do eat fish 1-2 times per week. I'm told that makes me a flexitarian :-)

Labels aside, I choose to eat as healthfully and Eco- responsibly as I can. I'm hoping that joining spark will help me also loose a few winter layers.
