i, too, have crohn's. i was diagnosed about 27 years ago. i am 61 years old. it never does go away. they hope is that it does not get worse. i had one surgery back in 1995 but thank goodness, no others. i find that my vegetarian diet helps. i was afraid that eating so many fruits and veggies and whole grains/fiber would make things worse. however, the opposite is true. i have given up dairy 99% of the time and that was what really helped the flare ups lessen. good luck.
i CAN do this!!!!
Believe it or not people have had great success treating Crones with a plant based diet. It might go against everything the doctors tell you. Here are a few links.
I am getting treated and regulary observed by a good doctor, but although the non-dairy diet that I am following for years and after getting treated with Remicade for a year and the inflamation was gone, I was asked to take the Pentasa for 3 months as it came back and now I have to undergo a colonoscopy again to see the progess.
My concern is that everytime I do the colonoscopy I discover that Crohn never goes...is there any recommendations to get rid off it?
