I think it takes time to adjust to a new environment and I promise you not everyone is looking at you. We are all there for the same reasons and have our own grooves that we get into. If any one is looking at you it's because they are happy for you doing your best, making a commitment...just like we all do from time to time. Keep going. It will get easier!

emoticon Welcome to the group! I agree with 2SNOWCRANES, most people at the gym probably aren't paying any attention to you at all. They're too busy with their own workouts. I'm not sure what you are confused about. If it is about how to use the equipment, just ask someone who works there. Most equipment, like Nautilus, has instructions on the machines. Again, welcome and, good luck!

Everyone at the gym is there for the same reason - lose weight and get in shape. No one joins because they have perfect bodies and weights! They probably have been there for quite a while and what you are seeing are the bodies any of us can have after work and eating right. THey are probably admiring you determination and how great you look!

2 weeks for me and it has been worth every minute! emoticon emoticon the programs here are great and I know you will do well! emoticon

Hello I am new here, my name is Tina I am currently married getting ready to celebrate 16 wonderful years with my very supportive husband. I was going to the gym but then life got in the way and now I am trying to get back I have been going back at least 3 days a week and I do some stretches a little ab and cardio but I am confused and sometimes discouraged when I am there. I always feel that people are watching me wondering what I am doing there. I hope to get past the nervous stage of being there so that I can try to lose some weight. Thank you for listening
