Hi Wanda - welcome and good luck! I have found the people on SP to be very supportive and I think blogging and posting in forums helps a lot as you get lots of useful comments and good wishes.
I have been vegetarian for about 18 years - there are lots of vegetarian options out there so don't worry. I recommend using the Spark Recipes as well as they are not only low in calories but often very tasty. Beans and eggs are great sources of protein.

There are a lot of vegetarian and vegan recipes in the SparkRecipes section under the Healthy Lifestyle tab. Check some of the earlier posts too. There was one for Holiday Foods and a link to a delicious glazed walnut loaf. I'm not too big on tofu so I try to steer clear of recipes with it. There are products that are soy free if you have a problem with soy. My faves are Gardein and Quorn brands.

By the way, I'm also new to the vegetarian lifestyle so any good recipes you want to share are welcome. I'll do the same.
This isn't my first time with SP, but I'm new in the forums. I wasn't successful here in the past so i figure i need to do something different and ask for help sometimes.
I need a lifestyle change so I don't become a sick senior. I have over 50 ponds in all to loose and I'm getting started now before the new year begins. I am looking forward to sharing this experience with you all and I wish you all a successful weight loss journey.
