Firstly, emoticon on a good first step!

Secondly, use the tools, just as Benton pointed out, the calorie counter is awesome, and so it the fitness tracker. It will help you identify which exercises give you most bang for your effort which can help you be more efficient on your calorie busting efforts. I find the videos to be a lot of fun and very effective (even if not the most calorie burning efficient).

What for now is lastly, don't treat the site as a fad diet. Use it to show you how to make positive steps to better not just your weight but your health and over all lifestyle. Take it easy and slowly. Think of this site and your efforts as a long time investment in yourself, big returns over time not immediately.

Welcome, Barbara! Keeping track of the calories you eat is the most important part of the diet. If you don't track, you don't know how many calories you're eating. There is a great calorie counting application here on SparkPeople.

Hello, my name is Barbara and I want to lose weight and be healthy again. I am very busy and I can't find enough time for myself. I have a hard time staying motivated and focused on my goals.
