I also had high triglycerides on my last blood test. The doctor immediatly put me on fish oil capsules (helps lower tri's), but being vegan I want to switch to something non animal related soon.
Triglycerides are apparently both calorie and sugar related. (Rip Essylstein's book says it comes from too many calories.) Too many calories or too much sugar (or as in my case, too much of BOTH!) seems to result in high tri's.
I'm not a doctor, but I suspect that lack of exercise also contributes to it, since one's body is not "burning off" these bad chemicals in our bodies well enough when we don't exercise.
I've yet to have my blood test, so I'm not sure how I'm doing. Like Rennagade honestly admitted, I've also been eating too much junk, so if I were to have the test done at this moment, I don't think it would be very good.
I'm trying to jump back on the exercise and diet wagon even as we speak, so hopefully things will turn around soon.
